The fact that Will needed to find out where key was is obvious from our perspective, but his father didn't know whole story and what's going on, so he figuring it out is why I like these kind of movies. Characters are not aware about everything we know and behaving more naturally than scripted. That's why, I do not think there are any kind of reveals for viewers. There is story, that could be interesting or could not be, but feels like characters rely are living in that story.

I don't think there's any problem with making a suggestion right here. Especially if it's a movie recommendation. Others do it. Or you could wait until a relevant movie poll... I think they are continuing with the movies by decades, so the upcoming poll should be '90s movies for June. But they also add in their own picks, like Pirates.

Elizabeth has way more chemistry with Jack. Their scenes just spark, every which way. But to be fair, I think Jack sparks with everyone... including himself.

No hate or anything of course but I think you remember the first movie a bit wrong 😁 Jack was never the primary focus of the story, this trilogy is mainly about Elizabeth and Will that's why the movies starts with them. Jack is more of a ship (yep) that moves them and the plot forward but since it's Johnny Depp it's easy to forget that. Still I never felt like Jack had less focus on him, on the contrary he has a real moral dilemma to face and a big choice to make about who he wants to be in this sequel, when in the first one I always saw him has the weird opportunist but ultimately good pirate. In this one he almost left his crew AND the Pearl to die to save himself, so it makes his decision to return more impactful and more organic to me, I feel he's here because the character wants to, not just the writers you know. If anything this Pirates 2 solidifies Jack as a character for me in a way that the first one didn't do, but that's just my opinion. Can't wait for the next one !

Not sure if you two have watched Gladiator, but the soundtrack is very similar to the POTC soundtrack! Gladiator came first tho, but both were composed by Hans Zimmer. Both epic :)

Bill Turner (Wills father) is played by the Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård. He also plays dr Erik Selvig in Marvel (Thor). One of our most famous Swedish actors. Stellan has quite a few kids who are also actors (for example Gustav who played Floki in Vikings, Alexander who played Tarzan and a lot of other roles and Bill who played Pennywise in It).

Fun fact: the scene where Jack is chanting “I’ve got a jar of dirt, I’ve got a jar of dirt and guess what’s inside it?” Wasn’t scripted and was just Johnny Depp improvising so the reactions of both Kiera Knightley and Orlando Bloom were legit confusion!

@Kim Magee... List them all and then some more. And, yes to Pretty Woman, Speed, Dances with Wolves!! I have no idea what they've seen already. But would add... Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, The Fugitive, While You Were Sleeping, Scream, The Matrix, True Lies, Galaxy Quest. It looks like there's a reaction to Ghost already on here... so I'll have to go watch.

Great reaction as always! I do get what you mean about not getting the same feeling as the last one, there was some touch about Jack that was missing, but I guess for me after watching it so many times it has just become great nonetheless. I'm really looking forward for your reaction on the next one, I do think it is so much better than this one, hopefully you enjoy it as well!

Elizabeth is definitely the best character in this series, and easily the one with the most development too.
