Take a Ticket

Yeah we figured when they mentioned Texas <3

Lores Vroniku

Oops yes just saw that, Im still watching so I commented prematurely lol! Anyway dirty filthy Madison looks like a beast haha

Anonymous

Did I hear The 100 was gonna be reacted to? Is that planned already for when that will come?

Anonymous

i love the stadium, what a cool base

Angelina Sargent

Omg the 100 is so disappointing. I hate how many people react to it... I would do the vampire diaries over the 100 if you want to do a cw show. Hahaha

Angelina Sargent

You liked firefly so much I can't believe you haven't done dollhouse!!!! It's right up your alley and only 2 season but they finish it strong and joss whedon is a genius!

Wendy Sparks

Personally, I love every bit of The 100... it has epic themes similar to BSG. I don't think it has that many reactors. I only see a few a year at most.

Wendy Sparks

The 100... yes please!! Epic badassery with particularly iconic female characters. And big themes like BSG.

Lores Vroniku

Also, you're right about some of the random personality changes. Nick and Madison suddenly being all nice and stuff to villains. I know there's a time jump, but eh it feels like a cheap way to show that character development. To me anyway it sounds very out of character for them to be THAT NICE lol. The Clarks were known for being nuts.

Anonymous

Hey Rob and Trin idk if you have seen it but I think you would like Doctor who (2005) and I would like to see you react to it thanks

Shelley

They've said it's in the works for a while now. I think they need to wait to tie up one of the shows they're already reacting to so they have time. I've been so looking forward to their 100 reaction.

TheGrouch74

2 comments about the episode lol why not join the discord if you wanna talk random? 🤣

Annie Bonz

I understand if there had been spoilers but comments like this make people stop talking at all.

TheGrouch74

I can see your point, and your right thankfully there's no spoilers but isn't that what their discord is for really? And it seems the topic is the 100 or other shows and not fear like it's supposed to be about lol

Count Monte-Cristo

I am sorry, I didn't knew the rules, like: it just has to be discussion about what happened in episode. I'll delete my comment.

TheGrouch74

Hey there's no need to delete anything unless it's a spoiler, and please don't think I'm trying to stop discussion for anyone . I'm just trying to highlight that we should mainly be responding to the episode (generally) and that we have their discord to talk about anything and everything lol the comments section is barely about the show 🤪

TheGrouch74

Discord is a kinda multi function app that you can use to chat call play games with and share etc Rob and Trin have their own server of course which they link here on patreon to join their community

k4rizz4

Does anyone else find Discord extremely overstimulating? lol I've tried it several times over the years, but the setup always frustrates me.

BadCode

Definitely agree that The 100 has similar 'big' themes to Battlestar Galactica. Like the overarching morality of survival. As well as 'All this has happened before and will again' which is the core to BSG.

BadCode

I have no interest in discord. Too clique-ish for my taste. Then the reactors spend more time there then on patreon. Which is what I actually joined and pay money to - patreon. Always disappointed when reactors open a discord because then their participation on patreon mostly plummets outside of the uploads. But mine is a minority opinion. Still, here is where I like all discussion. And they mentioned The 100 in the vid, which is exciting to many of us. If that's the biggest takeaway in the comments, then that's a reflection of not much to say about the episode.

Wendy Sparks

I love Dollhouse, too. It's usually an under-rated show. Big fan of Amy Acker.

lemmy101

The problem is BadCode that they are unable to have moderators on patreon, the only people able to delete comments are them, and they are unable to do that without seeing the comment, so are fearful of the regular spoilers that get posted especially on Walking Dead it seems, then the moderators from discord have to try and keep up and go ahead of them each and every time and warn them not to read the comments or clear them as safe to view for them to read in advance, it makes it very difficult for R+T to have a back and forth and interact with the patreon community in real time as you can hopefully appreciate. Discord is, for them and many other reactors, the solution to that, has moderator support so they can be protected from seeing spoilers and interact with their community a lot easier, and everyone on their patreon can join if they put their discord info into patreon. It's not out of some elitism or cliqueyness its the same community, its a patreon only benefit that comes with the patreon sub, but patreon's interface and community features just suck arse for reactors who have to worry about spoilers, that's not their or any other reactor's fault though. If you don't want their reaction videos that you pay to see have them already know every big surprise that's coming in advance, i think you should appreciate that they have a more moderated way to interact with people. We do try and keep on top of patreon spoiler checks for them to reply here but given they don't want expectation spoilers or out of show drama or casting business decisions infecting their experience of the story, a surprisingly high amount of TWD videos, being their most popular and highly commented, get tainted and that's probably why a few people get irritated by the comments that aren't about the episode in question as one single comment in them that gives something away or hints something about the next episode is like a tumor that stops R+T from being able to enter that videos comment section at all, as no moderator can remove it for them. In short, the thing Grouch is complaining about in general, 100 mention misunderstanding aside, is exactly the reason that R+T interaction plummets over discord where one of the mods would just delete any spoiler the moment it popped up.

Take a Ticket

Appreciate your thoughts but the truth is that Lemmy is correct. We started Discord so we COULD chat with community and not have to be blocked from any potential spoilers. You do not have to join the discord at all, I am replying to you now because I know it is safe to answer. We WANT to interact and Discord was the only way we could think of doing it safely 💕

BadCode

But the original comment wasn't about spoilers, but specifically about all the random 'The 100' comments. And to take it to discord. To which I said, No thanks. I already said that mine is a minority opinion. Didn't really require a novel in defense of discord. I get it... must defend against the slightest of criticism. I'm actually capable of understanding the purpose of discord. But... I've belonged to reactor Patreons that had 'mods'... who were trusted peoples obviously given the creator login access. Plus, doesn't Patreon offer that whole teammates thing for added help which includes posting and comments? There are absolutely ways to 'mod' here... as I've seen it. Either way, I just don't care for discord. I've certainly noticed that certain commenters get more 'hearts' or interactions than others. But that's the understandable outcome of the clique-ish-ness of discord. You get chummy. Glad others enjoy it. I just prefer being directly on patreon.

Wendy Sparks

I've tried to do discord a couple of times to no avail... I think it's not compatible with my stupid kindle fire. But that's all I've got at this point. I guess it's possible that it would work via my phone... but I'm not young, so I don't like having to read or write on a tiny screen. Feel a little out of the loop at times. But no worries. It's a shame about spoilers... there wasn't such a probllem like that here during Lost. Good ol' days. Count me as incredibly thrilled that you'll eventually watch The 100! Thanks to all!

Jack Bristow

I'd be surprised if Rob hadn't given the Doctor Who frenzy in Britain in the early 2000s but yeah, that's a reaction I would love to see on the Patreon.

Anonymous

Yeah its one of my favourite shows so I'd love to see it as well

lemmy101

BadCode I get you feel its a minority view but kinda resent taking time from my busy day to address your concerns and frustrations and explain the situation, my motivation to try and ease your bitter feelings about being outside some in-group and feeling you weren't being given the feeling of community you were entitled to, being boiled down to writing a novel to defend r+t. You complained that patreon commenters don't get the attention you deserve and get a long reply from a mod and a reply from rob and then roll your eyes about it. Teammates doesn't have the permissions necessary for what they need and is primarily intended for co creators to manage the content and financials not us yokels on the internet to delete the occasional comment. There's a large gap of trust between volunteers from a community trusted to delete spoilers, and teammates for ones business, its obviously something they looked into. There may be other things that influence where the likes go that you've perhaps not considered, i see a ton of likes go to people who aren't on discord, you can't possibly know if the people that are being interacted with are on discord if you're not on there yourself. Maybe consider if there are other reasons at work here?

TheGrouch74

My initial comment about a name drop of another show commandeering the chat of another show was in some ways my own way of highlighting how bad Patreon has got for being filled with random stuff and potential spoilers, which is extremely hard for creators who are trying to do "first time watching" reactions. It's a minefield that they have said they can't moderate and only lightly interact with. I came to the comments section looking for a conversation about the show, which it's really supposed to be about at the end of the day and it wasn't because it was full of more social comments about recommendations for shows or 100 , and it's been made clear that discord is a far more easier way to interact with Rob and Trin and their community that has joined there

Anika

I'd be really surprised if they haven't seen it. But if they haven't, I'd love to see them react to it as well.

BadCode

lemmy101 - My dude, there's simply no reason you need to respond to me at all. I certainly don't need anything 'explained' to me. That's on you. Unless you're a mod here. Even still, no explanations required. I can understand just fine and still have a different opinion. But as a paying customer, heaven forbid I'm allowed some very mild input on the otherwise great services rendered. Which was just my clearly stated minority opinion on the discord front. Not the end of the world. I'm not a fan of discord when I'm paying for patreon membership. That just me. And I've been a member of other big reaction patreon channels that added a trusted person to their creator admin login to mod the posts and comments. Not saying anyone has to do that here. But there are ways around it. And considering that my initial comment about discord has a lot of likes, I'm not alone in this lament. My point now is just: I can state my harmless opinion on my own preferences without the need for your intercessions. Plenty to enjoy here. Sorry that my wishing for more R&T interaction here, which is only a good thing, sends you into such gatekeeping mode. Have a good one.

BadCode

I'm surprised that R&T would approve of one of anyone stepping in to respond to a member's mildly differing input/perception by calling them bitter and feeling entitled.

I tried interacting a few times, even in discord and its hard to get a word in sometimes. So i just sit and watch the show with them, I dont worry about competing for interactions.
