I haven’t finished watching yet, but I do feel the need to mention that in New Hampshire alcohol is exclusively sold by the state which results in a significant mark down on the price, hence the wine store scene. People travel from all over to buy their booze in New Hampshire, it was an annual stop every summer as my parents drove the family back to New York from Maine.

I, too, love a predictable Hallmark style Christmas movie! 😂🎄❄️ Hallmark, since 2021, has actually started to include LGBTQ films/characters in their Christmas movies. Last year, they had “The Holiday Sitter” (two male leads) starring Jonathan Bennett. This year, they had “Friends & Family Christmas” (two female leads). They also have “The Christmas House” parts 1&2, and Christmas On Cherry Lane which include queer couples (but not necessarily as the lead storyline). There’s also the Lifetime movie “The Christmas Setup” starring Fran Drescher, and Paramount Plus’s “Dashing In December”. Both have (male/male) leads and are a bit less cringe than “Single All The Way”, believe it or not! 😂

I love a cheesy holiday film! Not so much the rest of the year, but I love a saccharine film over Christmas. Is it predictable and unrealistic? Hell yes! But December is always so full-on and slightly stressful, so these are the films that I have the bandwidth for. 🎄😃

The "Flames on the side of my face" line around the 38 minute mark is a reference to Madeline Kahn's performance as Mrs. White in the 1985 movie Clue (one of the campiest movies I've ever seen). It would be fun reaction and does include a gay character!

One of the few Christmas movies w/true gay MC. I loved it. Oh and the trainer guy did BROS, but he also done multiple Hallmark movies as well. It's kinda funny you guys are the 2nd reactors I've seen today react to this movie....which I love so of course...rewatching with you guys is soo cool. If ya'll are interested in another movie with a gay MC, maybe check out The Thing About Harry...that one's not "Hallmark" movie-esque, but it's pretty good.

I'm a simple man. I see Luke MacFarlane was cast in something, I watch it. I still remember him from his role as Scotty in Brothers and Sisters, where he was a part of one of the best written gay couples in TV history, and I'm glad he's been getting more recognition.

This movie is totally unrealistic but I love it! Also yes, we definitely have advent calendars in the states. Chocolate is traditional but there are lots- wine, beer, tea, coffee, etc. Also it is true in some states you have to go to a liquor store and some you can buy alcohol in super markets and mass box stores. Some have weird rules like in South Dakota you can only buy wine and beer on Sunday. You cant buy hard liquor. Stores have to block off those aisles on “God’s Day” 😂

I think y'all missed the part where it was said that Nick has always been in a r/s. This is the first Christmas that he has been single. That's how they managed to remain friends for 9 years w/o anything happening. Timing There's never been an extended period of time where they were simultaneously single until now.

You kept on about the family having nothing to do but try and set him up and that was unrealistic but my mum literally tried to set me up with our waiter today. If she didn't know I would kill her I can see her actually trying to set me up with someone that she likes. She can't hear that I am seeing my engaged friend without telling me how good we would be together. (I love him but we would make a horrific couple) So I could see this happening if my family was better organised.

HGTV (an initialism for Home & Garden Television) is an American pay television channel. No, advent calendars aren't really a thing in the USA...at least they never were in my family. The guy that plays the dad is Barry Bostwick who was in Rocky Horror Picture Show and played Brad Majors along side Susan Sarandon who played Janet Weiss. Tim Curry was of course Dr Frank-N-Furter. It's jut a jump to the left.....

Wow, really? I'm in Norway where the Norwegian state has a monopoly on selling anything stronger than beer. Alcohol is very, very expensive to keep people from drinking too much...wine in supermarkets will NOT happen here, so whenever I go to the UK I love browsing the wine aisles in Tesco 😁

So, the influencers...one is Kyle Kreiger - he was a barber, is a filmmaker, recovering addict, has a pretty decent Only Fans...sister is Ali Kreiger (US Woman's Soccer team). His original claim to fame was being the boyfriend of Nico Tortorella. He's a lovely person. I'm that, "hey, I have so much useless info in my brain, let me share it" person. This movie was cute; ordered it when it came out. Re-watching "with" you guys now.
