LM-Entertainment Australia

speaking of ice-creams.. there's a national treasure of one that we have in australia called the "golden gaytime." your hand gestures made me laugh haha. yes - you had the line right.. that was the one which he stuffed up. the subs also were written as he said it.

I love that you are reading the book. If either of you come across the collectors addition it has an epilogue set in the future that is cute and I do think would give content for a sequel if Casey was so inclined. I think the producer said uncut film was over 3 hours so people are trying to get them to release unedited film. Though I believe producer said they cut a-lot of scenes that didn’t have Alex and Henry so I am not sure how much more Alex and Henry we would get. If they release 3 hr version, I think we are gonna need another full reaction from you two. Heck, I think you could give a second full movie reaction video 😜 They are lots of details to catch on rewatch like lube and condom wrappers on the nightstand

Alex it's true that the "Once Upon a Time" scene in the book is written in an email from Henry. I will never stop wondering how they could have excluded such important contents of the book (because, let's say this, the Cornetto scene is equally FUNDAMENTAL!!)

Matthew Jones

I think it was right they deleted these scenes. As Josh stated they could potentially break up the story. But they are great scenes in their own right. Like behind the scenes of things we didn't see. I have to disagree about the movie v book. The book was a tour de force. Although the movie was groundbreaking as a big budget rom com. So fair play boys.

Crystal Pritchard

Apparently the Cornetto scene was released September 18 and the fireside chat was released October 18 so people are speculating we’ll get another scene on November 18!!

Am so pleased you watch these, the campfire 🔥 scene is lovely 🥰, the words Henry says in his story are matched by Alex in the bed room scene after Henry left him at the lake house. You can stay in your tower and nothing will every happen to you, Henry nothing will ever happen to you.

Chris Metzger

While the campfire scene was quite lovely, Josh is right, it wouldn't have made sense to have Henry panic and flee in the following scene. Also, yes, Josh, that was the line that Nicholas flubbed. I'm glad we got to see these deleted scenes, and I honestly wouldn't doubt if there were more (it's rumoured that the film was originally three hours), so I hope we'll get to see those as well at some point.

Jeffrey Duteil

Josh is right about the words "suit" and "Prince" being switched. However - as you both know from your channel - that could have been easily corrected in post production. (I mean, you obviously correct all your mistakes, right?) And this probably wasn't the only take, either. Much Love.

Ali Laura

That was fun to watch, I wouldn't have noticed he said suit and prince the wrong way around had you not talked about it and I'd watched the scene before! Also not a horrible intro at all, the whale noises made me laugh! 🤣

I still wish they'd kept it in. I suppose it can be seen as confusing, but on the other hand this could be Henry realizing for the first time how much he's letting his guard down, and it would make sense for him to react to that feeling of vulnerability by armoring back up the next day. The thing I really like about his little parable is that it shows his awareness that his family gave him that "armour" to protect him after seeing how vulnerable he would be. He doesn't seem to resent it, which seems very mature.

Diane Furlong

Looking forward to watching when I’m home this evening

My interpretation is the suit is called the " Prince of Armour " any other thoughts ?

Mary E Crum

Thanks for doing this

Laura S.

I wish they would have kept it in, because the context of it makes so much sense, why Alex thought he could tell Henry he loved him. Because Alex heard „I just have to pull that last piece of armor away“ but Henry really was saying „i can’t ever let him pull that piece away“

I too wish they had left the fireside scene in. Nick’s acting is so lovely. Plus it explains when Alex said to him at KP “live in your tower and protect your heart and nothing will ever happen to you“ it gives that so much more meaning.

Diane Furlong

Loved this! Thanks guys!

Michael Craig

I'd've deleted these scenes too. Any longer and it should've been a series, not a movie.

Michael Craig

Wouldn't care to watch this again. I was surprised it wasn't as awful as I expected, but that doesn't mean I want to see more of it.

Emma Williams

I loved these deleted scenes, yes Josh you got the right line... also you need to read the blue cover version of the book (collectors edition) coz it has an extra chapter from Henry's POV

Crystal Pritchard

I’d love another video with your thoughts about the book once you’ve both finished reading. I’m especially interested in what you think about the change in who leaks their relationship and outs them. I understand why they had to simplify this storyline for the movie, but I don’t love that it made an LGBTQ+ person the villain.

gailanno

Thank you for this! In both cases, the director said the scenes messed with the timing of the following scene, which is why he deleted them. But I also think Amazon was really strict about limiting the movie to 2 hours. Everyone adores the fireside scene, but I LOVED the Cornetto scene & wished they had kept it in. It explained so much of Alex’s whip-smart, sassy personality in such a short time. I had difficulty connecting the fireside scene to the dock scene, but Laura S above explained it nicely. (They could have fixed the flubbed line (which I know is there but still miss it every time) in post-production.)

Graham & Ruth May

I enjoyed the film and it’s great to see the deleted scenes but the book was amazing in my opinion and much as I did like the movie, I found it really difficult to separate it from the book which was just so much more-and I have read it 3 times now, might even be reading it again in due course. What did pleasantly surprise me was the calibre of the acting especially of Nick and Taylor. Really good.

There were seven complete takes of this scene ( probably holding back one that is perfect) ( hmm…😎). When Henry jumps in the water the next day he puts his hands on his chest in a protective gesture ( pulling the armor back onto his heart). It would have played to that particular moment very nicely. Regardless, the moment when Henry tell him he made him free for the first time makes them the official “chemistry professors”

MaryBeth Gay

The director said Nick had to say that whole monologue over 7 times because they did 7 takes as a "oner" then several with close ups that we see in the trailer and in flashbacks during Alex's speech.

Gina Lipkin

It would have added more context and not added on much time at all to the movie, it showed their characters off more and the contrast to their upbringing/backgrounds, nicely made, thanks Alex and Josh x

Gina Lipkin

Like the Marvel films they are three hours long, I think that would 'suit' this okay, lol

Sarah

i can’t tell you how many times i’ve watched the reactions you guys have done for the rwrb content. i feel like at this point i’m just as excited to watch the two of you react to the sequel as i am to watch it myself! thanks for sharing with us and engaging in the dialogue surrounding a story that so many of us hold near and dear 💖💖
