There's no clear story on the delay, but there are a few editing traces which make me wonder what they originally had planned. Apparently the phone call happened at the end of every episode, but Rupaul's hysteria about the call that they left in was only kept because there was no lipsync assassin in the next episode and they were pressed for time and the girls already had their reactions recorded so they couldn't just drop that one.

Also explains away the disturbing fact that Ru & Zaldy weren't inspired by Brita's awful cornapple dress for that yellow and green dress. That was just serendipity and ugliness.

Shea also tweeted about AS5 just never airing last summer which suggests that their original edit/bias was toward Miz Cracker on set and Shea saw the writing on the wall.

Dance teacher and fellow choreographer here :) ummmm sorry but jujus choreo was not poor. cracker's was everything and shay's was everything. juju just couldn't keep up and wasn't totally in sync with her dancers lolol sorry but we're not gonna come for Todrick's choreo just cuz we don't like him & love us some juju. also that PANTY AND BRA LINE THOOOOO... yikes

Also I remembered something, I think it’s funny that Naomi smalls-ing someone out is a new verb in drag race to get rid of the biggest competition and she might or might not regret it because of that negative Connotation but monet has and probably will always own the fact that if Naomi didn’t vote manila then she would have because of she would have voted for her over latrice.
