Great last few episodes! Lately you've been talking a little more about casualties and their effect on the operational readiness of armies--owing to the brutality and carnage at Elylau. It got me thinking about how durable the makeup of armies in this era was. Do records exist of how many men who trained at Boulogne were still serving after Friedland? What about after Wagram, or the Russian invasion? Do we know many of these people, who witnessed so much and are such critics historical sources, survived napoleons wars?

Hi. Loving the podcast! Two questions (an answer to either would be great). 1. Do you have any recommendations for biographies of Napoleon or overviews of the age? I've been drowning in the number of choices and would like your recommendations on some good starters. 2. Have you ever visited any of the Napoleonic battlefields as a tourist? What was your experience like?
