Thank you for another great dispatch, love the show. Something I've been wondering about is how well Napoleonic armies could understand each other. How multilingual was Napoleonic Europe? Would many soldiers on both sides of a battle often understand each other? How was communication established between people in occupied cities and the occupiers? How great was Napoleon's command of Italian, German, or English? Thanks again!

How did Britain, Spain and France engage their colonies in the Napoleonic wars? Did they recruit soldiers or raise funds from these outposts?
