Town of Gardia - Shopping

I went into the Branch Shop in the Holy Kingdom to buy a dagger.

As usual, the good smell of soy sauce crackers was wafting around the store.

"Well, I'll go take a look."

"Now that I have some money, it might be a good idea to buy not just one, but a spare."

"Yes, let's do that."

Rilfana looks off in the direction of the weapons, and I turn to the food section.

I must buy soy sauce and vinegar.

Claire was looking at the souvenir shelves. Maybe she was interested in a carved wooden bear or something.

"Welcome. If you're looking for soy sauce, we have a large bottle of the kind we serve to restaurants. The manager has given me permission to serve that one to those who buy a lot."

As I was about to carry many bottles of soy sauce, a female clerk noticed and provided a suggestion. I think it was the same clerk who was there the last time I bought.

I decided to buy about five large bottles, since they seemed to contain twice the capacity and be a little less expensive.

I asked the shopkeeper if there were any Japanese restaurants that used it if it is wholesale to restaurants, but he said that there are no restaurants specializing in Holy Kingdom cuisine in the town of Gardia. Too bad.

In addition to mayonnaise, I bought two bottles of vinegar to try making sushi rice. Since we don't eat raw fish in the village, I thought I would make something like chirashi sushi.

"I decided on these two bottles."

Rilfana brought two daggers, including a spare. She seemed to have chosen one with a similar balance to the dagger that was chipped.

"Big Sister, I'm curious about this tea, can I buy it?"

The tea Claire brought seemed to be green tea. In this world of Virtuari, tea means black tea or herbal tea. In the Holy Kingdom, it might mean green tea.

Even if Claire did not like the astringency of green tea, I would take it and drink it.

I bought five teapots and teacups that go well with green tea.

Rilfana suggested that we go to the Adventurers' Guild store to see if they had any supplies for battle.

She wanted to replenish her dagger, which she also uses as a throwing knife, and her quiver, as well as some ninja gear, if there was any.

I don't think they have ninja gear because I couldn't find any in the Branch Shop of the Holy Kingdoms, which has only a Japanese image now.

When I entered the Adventurer's Guild, I found an elf clerk at the clothing store.

He was wearing armor made of small metal rings called "ring mail" woven into leather armor. He carried a thin sword rapier and a quiver of arrows at his waist and a longbow on his back.

"Oh my, I've met you in a very unusual place!"

"Hello. I see you were an adventurer."

"It's not always easy to get what you want if you only ask for it, so I do it on the side."

"Did you pick something?"

Yes, I hunted crocodiles while I was gathering plants for cotton.

...Isn't it usually the other way around?

The crocodile is, as the name suggests, an ordinary crocodile.

If you don't stand in front of it, it's not a very scary opponent, but its level must have been around 25. If he is capable of defeating Crocodile, he must have a high rank.

"With this, I can make a belt!"

He declared happily, his eyes shining. He had gone hunting to make a belt.

"When I get back, I'm going to start making them as soon as possible. The store will be open tomorrow, so please come back! You'll get many new ideas when you have customers, so you're more than welcome!"

"I'm going back to the village soon this time, so if I have a chance to come to town, I'll stop by."

"Yes, I'll be waiting for you!"

The shopkeeper left the guild without so much as a hello, as if he wanted to start working on the belt.

Someone whose hobbies and work are perfectly aligned, ...I guess he's an elf.

At any rate, the three of us decided to look at the store on the second floor that dealt in supplies and sundries.

"I still don't see any ninja gear."

"What did you do in the game?"

"I had a friend who could smelt or woodwork make them for me, or I bought them in the bazaar. It is a pain that most ninjutsu require ninja tools."

"Do you think I could find some in the stores in the royal capital or the Holy Kingdom?"

"I think I can find some in the Holy Kingdom, but I'll have to go to the royal capital to see if I can find some."

Ninja gear refers to tools used to assist with attribute attacks such as "fuse" and "sui fugaku," as well as smoke balls and grappling ropes.

I don't use them and have only seen the item icons on SeveChro, but I do remember that the former were tag-shaped items.

If you can't find them, you might as well try smelting or woodworking.

Rilfana will have to work with a dagger and a crossbow for a while, but she has enough firepower, so I think she'll be fine.

Claire bought some appraisal papers.

I guess she was curious because I told her that her level might have gone up because she had fought a strong enemy.

After that, we went to the third floor to buy Rilfana's dagger and quivers for her thick arrows, and then went to the bookstore on West Street and other stores we passed by that caught our attention.

I tried to find some production books, but they only had basic stuff, so I didn't buy anything in particular.

I found some scrap jewelry for sale at a general store, so I bought some.

Better than nothing, so let's enchant everyone's equipment with magical enchantments.

In SeveChro, I could see the durability value as a numerical value, and I only had to repair the equipment frequently, so I think I can use the durability enhancement, which was almost meaningless.

Rilfana and Claire seemed to buy something a little bit.

The bell rang at 2 p.m., so I decided to return to the inn.

I got the key at the front desk and decided to have dinner on the first floor before going to my room. It would be a hassle to come back down again.

The restaurant was slightly darker than during the day.

Candelabra-style lamps were placed on the tables, creating a stylish atmosphere for enjoying drinks.

There are two types of courses: one is a course meal served one dish at a time like French cuisine, and the other is a regular course in which you order what you like.

Reda-san told me that this innkeeper is not particular about manners, but normal is fine.

"I don't feel like I've eaten a course meal, sir."

Even Rilfana, who should be familiar with manners, said this, so we decided to order a normal meal.

When I opened the menu, I got the impression that there was a lot of French food.

"What's roti? Rilfana-chan."

"It's roasted meat."

"What is Confit?"

"It's meat cooked in oil at a low temperature."

"Poêler..."

"It means meat that's been braised."

"Mmm..."

...It's a cooking method, so it's not limited to meat.

"That's right. It can't be only meat, can it?"

Claire was relieved when I told her that.

I have an image of French cuisine using duck and lamb, but it appears that they use beef and chicken, as if they can't get them around here.

I had never eaten these dishes before, and I didn't know what they were, so I ordered chicken Confit.

Chicken is marinated in oil and cooked at a low temperature. It was not as greasy as I expected, and the chicken was very savory.

As a high-class inn, whatever you order is sure to be delicious.

We all ate a Plua apple tart for dessert, and then decided to go to our rooms.

We did not see Alphos-san and the others. They had eaten a lot at lunchtime, so they might have come to eat later.

The room we were assigned at the front desk was on the 4th floor.

In Japan, they sometimes avoid using the 4th floor as a guest room, but in this world Virtuari, it seems to be a normal room.

It is better than being sent to the 5th floor because there are only stairs.

When I entered the room, it was surprisingly spacious. There are two doors on the left wall.

At the entrance, I turned on the lamp's magic switch that illuminates the room and entered the room.

A reception set with a desk and chair for writing, a table made of thick transparent glass, and a leather sofa.

There is a tea set and a magical machine, which is supposed to be a kettle so that you can drink freely.

A black wooden chest of drawers and side tables. I don't know how it is called here, but it looks ebony-like.

One bed is large enough to sleep three people.

The futon is soft and fluffy, as if it is hung out to dry every day.

The furniture, all of which are instantly recognizable as luxury items, is harmonizing with the interior. The overall color scheme appears to be black and dark.

Of course, these products are not only pricey but also practical.

"Big Sister, the bathroom is spacious too."

Claire and Rilfana peeked in.

The bath was separated from the dressing room, and the bathtub was large enough for three people.

The bathtub is designed to be embedded in the wall and floor, unlike most baths which are simply a large wooden tub in a room with good drainage.

"It's going to cost you a small gold coin to stay here for one night."

One small gold coin is enough to live on for a month if you save your money, which is why Mirell-san was so pleased.

"Well, that's enough for the three of us!"

I thought, "Three people could fit in there, but really, three people?".
