Entering Paradise

This expedition would probably take a long time. We have not yet heard His Majesty's plan, but the speed of the invasion should be important.

If that were the case, the nobles who would cooperate with us would be larger than ever before.

If nobles from other regions might come to Seat Village, we must let them know how good Seat Village is.

With this in mind, I immediately drew a plan in my mind to build a hot spring facility by the lake. For some reason, the idea of a hot spring facility where a famous god from an animated movie would stay overnight came to mind, but I had no idea what the structure would look like.

I had no choice but to imagine a hot spring resort that I had actually been to. The inn did not have a lake adjacent to it, but it might be interesting to make it look as if it were slightly looming over the lake.

It would be a good idea to build a two-story building with an open-air bath on the outside of the first floor.

However, it would take nearly a week to build something that large. The supply of hot water would also be insufficient.

"I don't think we'll be able to make the hot spring hotel in time, so maybe we'll make it after everyone leaves Seat Village."

As I muttered this, Panamera, walking in front of me, turned his head to the side and opened his mouth.

"What? Should we ask His Majesty to come?"

"No, we don't need to!"

Panamera chuckled and toyed with me. When I puffed out my cheeks and revealed my anger, she giggled and laughed happily.

She is being a complete bully. I should double the price of the weapons I sell to her from now on.

Panamera looked away with the corner of her mouth raised, and looked at the knights parading by the road. Then she sucks in a breath.

"His Majesty has given me an order! From now on, many knights will gather for the invasion of Jiernetta Kingdom! Meanwhile, I would like you to make camp in front of this Seat Village and refresh yourselves! All senior officers and above should gather here to discuss supplies and camp locations!"

Panamera loudly announced the order. Perhaps one of the reasons for this is that Panamera's voice is so clear.

I watched Panamera's leadership scene with admiration. As soon as the other nobles and knight commanders are in place, the top 50 are selected to go to Seat Village. The encampment is between the adventurers' town and the Seat Village, so they will not be exposed to the threat of magic beasts.

Panamera might be thinking that since we are simply camping out, we should at least be on the lookout for magic beasts ourselves, but... well, we were able to handle His Majesty's sudden recklessness, so that's a good thing.

As I was thinking about this, Panamera turned to me with a smirk.

"So, boy, how far did you reach with Miss Arte?"

"Yes?"

I nodded my head in response to the sudden question. Then I heard a short scream from behind me.

"Panamera-sama!"

Arte, her face as red as an apple, turned her voice inside out and called out Panamera's name. Gushing at that, Panamera slapped me on the back.

"Hahaha! This is something, isn't it? How about that, boy? You got that right, didn't you?"

"What? Panamera-san, are you drunk? Can you stop that?"

I complained with a straight face to Panamera, who was laughing and slapping me on the back, but he wasn't listening.

"Don't be mad, don't be mad, I was just teasing you, wasn't I? Yes, let's have dinner soon. I'd love to hear what you two have to say. I'm sure we'd have a good time together."

"Absolutely not. You're just trying to make fun of me."

With this exchange, we returned to Seat Village.

The next day, Count Ferdinand, Arte's father, arrived. The knights were more numerous than last time, as if they were putting more effort into their work.

When I went to meet him, Ferdinand emerged from a huge carriage. As soon as he notices us, he gets off the carriage and walks over.

"It's been a long time, Sir Van, how are you and Arte?"

I smiled and bowed to Ferdinand, who called out to me in a somewhat retro manner.

"Long time no see, Count Ferdinand."

Arte bowed and opened his mouth, looking a little embarrassed.

"It's been a long time, father...thanks to Van-sama, I'm doing well."

Arte returns the greeting and Ferdinand smiles.

"Well...I don't know how to thank you, Sir Van."

"No, no, don't worry about it."

Ferdinand says to take it easy on his words. Perhaps amused by this, Ferdinand shakes his shoulders and laughs.

"Thanks. I'm glad you said that. Actually, I was planning to do more than anyone else in this battle, and I'll do as well as Sir Van."

He made an unusually warlike statement. This must have been a lot of preparation.

"I can't lose either. Let's both do our best."

He answered with a laugh and pointed to the back of Seat Village.

"Well then, come inside Seat Village...Arte, do you want to go with me?"

Arte's expression hardened for a moment when I asked him to join me for a private conversation with his father and son. However, her face soon became determined, and she nodded.

"Yes. I will guide you."

When Arte uttered this, Ferdinand smiled happily.

"...Thank you. Pleasure to meet you."

Although it was still not a natural father-son relationship, I think their relationship has improved beyond compare.

I used to think that socializing with nobles was a hassle, but I think things are going very well so far. I am good friends with His Majesty, and I am allied with Viscount Panamera and Count Ferdinand. Probably not on bad terms now with Count Venturi either. The same goes for the Viscounts of Pinin, who were arrogant and overbearing at first.

The only problem is with the Marquis Fertio, my parents' family, but I think I am getting along well with the rest.

As I watched Ferdinand and Arte enter the Seat Village, I crossed my arms and nodded to myself.

"...Yeah, now that I think about it, aren't I awesome? I just became a baron and started my own house, you know?"

I muttered, and Tyll laughed happily.

"Yes, Van-sama is doing very well."

Tyll's line made Camsin nod repeatedly.

"Hmmm, just kidding. You shouldn't be so proud, after all. If you get carried away and get carried away, you will fail, so you have to be careful."

I said this to caution myself, feeling embarrassed at being praised by the two of them.

But inwardly, I am so happy that I want to skip it already. If good surroundings make you happy, I must be the happiest person in the world; I'm close with Tyll, Camsin, and Arte like brothers; I think Espada, Dee, Arv, and Roe are good friends too; I'm building trust with Knights of Seat, Ortho, and the rest of the adventurers; I'm getting along well with my friends; I'm getting along well with my friends; and I'm getting along well with my family and friends.

Okay, let's skip this one, Van, you're the best. Here's to a wonderful life in the Lords.

As I was thinking that, someone had arrived at Seat Village again, and the messenger came running toward me, waving his hand.

"Van-sama! A new order of knights has arrived! It's the flag of the Marquis Fertio!"

"Oh, Daddy... that makes me feel a little down in the dumps..."

They're already here. I listen to the report in such a mood. But the group member tilts his head with a subtle expression.

"That, apparently, the Marquis is not here. There were two carriages that looked like they were for nobles, but there was one person riding in both of them, and both of them were quite young..."

"Huh?"

Hearing the group's report, I subconsciously asked back. If someone other than the head of the Marquis of Fertio was to appear at an important battle, the only person left would be a blood relative.

"...Don't tell me it's Brother Gallardo and Brother Sesto? Are they planning to make such a big game their first battle?"

I said this reflexively, even though I didn't know who was listening. That's how shocking it was. Seeing my surprise, the group member hesitated a bit before continuing with his report.

"Also, unlike the usual Marquis de Fertio's knights, their equipment is not uniform, and their atmosphere is similar to that of a group of adventurers," he said.

"I think they are mercenaries, aren't they? What? What do you mean?"

Had Daddy finally lost his mind? Or did he give us instructions in a drunken stupor? My mind was in a state of confusion.

I was so happy, but what a father and son.
