Inns - Guest Rooms

When I entered the room on the third floor, it was like a hallway, with a bath and toilet side by side on the right. They are properly separate private rooms. The hallway and rooms are lit and can be turned on and off with a magic stone on the wall.

The room off the hallway has three beds and a side table next to the beds. The room was also furnished with a set of other furniture, including a sofa, a sideboard, a chest of drawers, and a horizontal table. There was also a tea set for guests to pour their own tea. There is a one-person sofa and a table by the window, where one can relax while looking out.

On some of the tables, there are small lighted magic lanterns.

The closed curtains were opened to reveal a view of West Street.

The sun was already setting as we ate slowly at the eatery restaurant, and the streetlights of the mages, which were placed at equal intervals, were shining.

The light from the inns and taverns on the street was also leaking, so there seemed to be no trouble walking around. Also, it seems that the night watch guards patrol the town of Gardia on a regular basis. Women and children are not likely to be abducted without question if they are walking alone, and the town seems to be safer than I had expected.

Of course, the need for a security force does not mean that there are no dangers. As I looked down the street, it seemed as if people were hurrying to get home, perhaps running behind schedule.

"I'm full and sleepy."

"Claire, please take a bath before you go to bed."

"Uh-huh."

"You look sleepy, and you can start with Claire-sama."

Although we took breaks from time to time, we had been walking for most of the time in the town, so we must have been tired.

Claire was sleepily rubbing her eyes.

She was probably sweating, so I decided to give her a bath before going to bed.

"Hyah!"

I heard Claire's voice as she took a bath. Rilfana, who was nearby, knocked and opened the door.

"Claire-sama, what's wrong?"

"Oh, it was just water..."

"Oh, well, water comes out when you pour magic power into this magic stone, and you adjust the temperature by twisting the magic stone."

-Such things existed, huh?

"Thank goodness Rilfana knows so much about it. We are from the countryside, so there are a lot of things we don't understand at all."

I asked Rilfana who came back to show Claire how to use the bath and the provided toiletry products. If asked, we would be provided with soap, toothbrushes, etc.

"No, I think it is my duty to teach you what Master does not know. ...Well, I do come from a noble family. I also often went to town to have fun."

"I could tell."

"Eh!"

Oops, I said it out loud.

"Your behavior is elegant. And the way you speak... as well?"

"Ha! Oh, sorry for not mentioning it."

"No, that's just the way you are. It's not that I wanted you to act like a slave, I'm more than happy if you treat me like a normal person."

"Ah... I understand."

I guess I might feel guilty before I got down on my knees and forced him to be my master.

If they are the same age, would it be selfish on the master's part to ask them to be friends rather than slaves, even though they look younger than they are except for one part of their chest?

"I'm sure I'll have to ask you to help out and do some work, and I'd appreciate it if you'd take the initiative. And you don't have to force me to talk about the past. If you want me to listen, I'll listen."

"Yes, ... you'll have to listen to me when you eventually get the chance."

Rilfana nodded with a serious face, as if she had formed some sort of idea. I got the feeling that she wasn't just resistant to talking about her past.

"Well, I'll be glad to meet you again!"

"I'll do my best to help as much as I can!"

Smiling at each other, I somehow shook hands with Rilfana, and then I heard the door to the bath open. The door to our room was left open so our voices could be heard.

"Rilfana-chan, how do you use this?"

"I'll get right on it."

After getting out of the bath, Claire didn't seem to know how to use the hair dryer, so Rilfana carefully explained to her how to use it.

As I listened to her, I thought to myself that unlike in the village, the prevalence of "magic machines" is also high. It may be because it is a good inn, but it is rare that I don't see magic machines here and there, even just in the rooms.

Mina-sama went first. So I decided to take a bath before Rilfana.

"It was so cold, it woke me up."

Claire returned to her room and placed the hair ornament she had removed on the side table near her bed.

She moved to the bath, watching sideways as Rilfana made tea with the water she had been boiling on the stove of the magic machine.

◇ ◇

The bathroom had a tub and a fixed shower.

The magic stone that Rilfana had mentioned must be this one.

The temperature is adjusted according to the position where it is twisted, and when touched, the magic power flows through the stone and water or hot water is produced for a while.

The mechanism seems to be the same as that of a faucet knob in Japan, except that magic power flows through the stone.

It is not so difficult if all one has to do is to channel magic power into the magic stone. The magic stone tries to draw out the magic power, so once you get a feel for it, even a child can do it. However, the better you are at manipulating magic power, the easier it will be to adjust.

I felt it was easier to control the amount of water in my body because I have the water attribute.

In "Sevcro," you are born with a set of attributes, which you select when you create your character. When creating a character, one chooses one or two attributes from fire, water, earth, and wind, and if only one is chosen, it becomes a specialized attribute.

The character has just a little bit of the attack power of the chosen attribute, but since skills and equipment compensation were by far more significant, the game system did not have much meaning other than to characterize the character.

It seems to me that when it comes to reality, it has been affected in a very detailed way.

I wonder how it works in this world; is there a way to find out what Claire or Rilfana's attributes are?

"Dear Mina, are you sure you know how to use it?"

After checking the usage several times, I heard a knock on the door and Rilfana's voice.

"I heard you and Claire talking about it, so I think it will be fine."

"I understand."

Rilfana seemed to have heard from Claire or remembered that we had come out of the village, so she came to check on us.

It looks like we can use it normally. It is inconvenient that the shower is fixed and cannot be moved.

Rilfana said, "I feel so refreshed!

"I feel refreshed!

After getting out of the bath without any problems, Rilfana makes me a cup of tea with warm and lukewarm water. It is normal for a nobleman to have a maid make the tea, and the fact that she is so adept at it may have been a hobby or something.

Claire seemed to have completely woken up and was still awake.

"I'll leave Rilfana's change of clothes here."

Before I forget, I also put Rilfana's nightgown I bought during the day out on Rilfana's bed. They are frilly one-piece pajamas.

I want another magic bag for Rilfana. But it's too expensive to buy one, so I'll buy a regular bag tomorrow.

After Rilfana went to take a bath, Claire and I were talking about our impressions of the town when the bell rang at three in the afternoon.

"I'm finally getting a little used to the sound of the bell."

"It's pretty loud, isn't it?"

Even I, who know the sound of chimes and sirens, thought it was a bit loud. I think many people would be surprised if they heard it for the first time without knowing it.

"I had my body wiped at the store, and my hair feels refreshed, too.

Rilfana also came out of the bath.

Her dusty hair was clean and she looked pretty in her pajamas.

...I think slavers lose a lot of value in their products when they leave their slaves dirty. I think it's a huge loss.

"We're planning to go sightseeing in town tomorrow, is there anywhere you want to go?"

"Oh, sister. I want to see the magic book!"

"Do they have it in the bookstore?"

"If you just want to read it, I think you can find it at the library."

"I don't know if I want to buy it, it depends on the price."

"Well, let's just look for a bookstore."

I want to buy a card case, so I'll go to the general store that the adventurer lady told me about at lunchtime.

"Mina-sama, if you have time, I would like to visit the church.

Claire and Rilfana's requests were for a general store, a bookstore, a church, a library depending on the bookstore, and Rilfana's bag at the general store or the Adventurers' Guild.

We also need to pick up Rilfana's and Claire's clothes.

The general store we heard about at the Adventurer's Guild is close by on West Street, so we decided to go around there. The church and library need to be located somewhere.

"Huh..."

Claire's absentmindedness echoed through the room as we engaged in idle conversation.

"Okay, let's get some rest today."

"Yeah, good night. Good night, Rilfana-chan."

"Good night."

It had been a rich day walking from Feld Village to the town of Gardia and meeting Rilfana.

I turned off the light on the side table and went to bed with Claire by the window, Rilfana in the bed by the door, and me in the middle.

◇ ◇

"Sis, it's morning!"

"Mina-sama. Please wake up.

"And then I'll go..."

I was also tired and fell asleep as soon as I closed my eyes. I haven't slept enough.

The curtains were already open, and it was bright. I pulled the futon back over my head. This is my iron-clad futon-furankusu.

"Sis, you always have a hard time getting up in the morning."

"I know how to wake you up in such a case."

Rilfana seems to have crept into the futon. I'm one with the bed, and that's not going to wake me up!

"Whew!"

"Whee!"

She blew on my ear. I got goosebumps and jumped out of bed.
