Feld Village

I slept for three days before the mixed memories of Kainagi and Mina took hold.

I had a fever, headache, and lethargy, but by the morning of the fourth day, the symptoms had disappeared as if nothing had happened.

I could recall Mina's memories as if they were my own.

However, having grown up as an ocean calm, I think I have knowledge of this world but no experience in it.

I think of it as knowledge I acquired from TV and books.

I know this is something that would normally be impossible for me, but I feel that I have naturally accepted my current situation without being confused as I thought I would be.

Maybe it was because I read many novels about reincarnation and so on.

When I suddenly felt better, my stomach, which had taken little more than water for three days, suddenly began to insist that I eat.

When I smelled the good smell of breakfast my mother was preparing, I couldn't stand still and jumped out of bed and ran out to the living room.

The house has a living room with kitchen, children's room, parents' room, storage room, bathroom, and attic.

It seems too luxurious for a rural village, considering Kainagi's knowledge of the area.

The beds and floors are clean, and the presence of my mother's living magic may have had an effect.

Even though it was not that far away, we only used the bath occasionally because it was hard to bring a lot of water from the nearby river to boil it.

"Sis, are you all right now?"

Surprised at my suddenly waking up early, Mom cooked rice for me.

While I was eating oatmeal, which is rice cooked in a soup, Claire woke up and looked at me with concern.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine now!"

"Come on, come on, don't talk while you eat."

Mom is preparing Claire's rice with an air of resignation on her face. It's harvest time, and many vegetables are in season.

There was a bed of orange leafy vegetable Carrea, topped with fried Pino and potatoes.

It is strange that vegetables in this world are a mixture of those whose names I have never heard of at all and those whose names are the same as those on earth.

By the way, Carrea is a slightly hard lettuce, Pino is not a sweet bell pepper, and Potato is similar to potato as it is. ...I want to eat vegetables too, not just oatmeal.

"Mina is sick, you should stay home today, don't wander around too much."

"It's rare to see your sister sick in bed with a cold. It's the first time I've seen you sick."

"No, it's not true!"

...I don't remember Mina ever going to bed with a cold. Mom brought her own food and started eating with Claire.

"Oh, by the way, where's Dad?"

"The day Mina fell asleep, the village head called me. He said he was going to run an errand to the town. We had a harvest to do, and he just said, 'I'll take care of it' and left."

Mom says angrily, but she doesn't look like she's really angry.

...Phew.

I woke up without thinking because of hunger, and I was worried about whether we could act as a family, but I guess my fears are unfounded.

To be honest, I don't really feel like family, but I don't hate them as much as I do strangers, and I feel comfortable with them.

My mother's name is Jetta. My father is Marc. My sister is Claire.

...Well, it's strange to have three more family members at my age!

In Japan, I only had three older brothers, so I wanted to have siblings younger than me, and if I could choose, I would have preferred a younger sister, so I welcome it. So, I'm very welcome.

After breakfast, Mom and Claire went out to work in the field.

After all, it seems to take a long time to harvest without my dad, who is used to the work.

They asked me to stay in bed until noon, just to be safe, so I went back to bed.

I went back to bed, just in time to clear my memory a little.

The village where I live is called Feld Village, and it has long been known as a large farming village with a large area of fields.

According to my mother, the village has developed considerably in the last 15 years from a farming village with only a large area under cultivation.

She says it was largely due to my father's knowledge from the outside.

There is a large town about a day's drive to the west, and during the harvest season in the village, merchants come to buy vegetables, sell textiles and other small daily necessities from the town, and return home.

The vegetables here are so good that they are used in the high-end stores in the town. I have never heard the name of the town because everyone calls it a town.

Mina had no knowledge when it came to larger stories, countries, continents, and so on.

East of the village is a rocky area, and beyond that is the ocean.

It was mostly cliffs, but there were several paths that led down to a small sandy beach.

This was a place where the villagers took their families to play.

It was not difficult for a child to walk there and back. Some rocks near the beach contained salt, which was sometimes processed and used for food in the village.

The north and south sides of Feld Village were covered with forests, but they were very different.

The north side was relatively safe with few demons, and a mountain range could be seen all the way to the north.

The deeper you go into the forest to the south, the more demons you will encounter.

I heard that if you go all the way to the south, you will reach the border. I don't think anyone would go out of their way to go through the dangerous forest, though, since there is a road that runs along the southern forest.

My house is located near the forest on the north side.

There are two rivers flowing through the village, and my house is close to a river designated for drinking and living, so it is a convenient place to get clean water.

The other river is used for washing clothes and for children to play.

In reality, there are more detailed specifications for each section, but the idea is to create an area where the river itself is not polluted so that diseases do not spread.

For this reason, no one complains about where the water is taken and what it is used for, as long as it is not returned to the river.

Mina's knowledge of geography was limited to the village and the surrounding area, within which she personally traveled.

Maybe that's just the way it is for rural people, as they spend their entire lives, seldom leaving the village.

Most of the village is farmed, so many houses have fields.

There is no set crop for what they grow, and each family grows their favorite vegetables, cotton, and other plants.

It seems that this village is located in an area where the magic of the soil is strong, and if the climate is right, anything will grow. Some of the households are mainly engaged in cattle raising, while others are engaged in both.

The climate is similar to Japan's, with four distinct seasons.

However, summers are not that hot, and winters are rarely snowy.

Apart from farmers, a few families were engaged in artisanal work such as bakery, carpentry, and craftsmanship. A general store must have opened a few years ago.

There is also a small two-story wooden church, staffed by a retired priest from the town church and two nun sisters sent by the town. The church also serves as a teacher and doctor.

Life in Feld Village is very relaxed.

I wake up when the sun peeks out of the sky and eat breakfast. After that, I help my parents until noon. I clean the house, do some sewing, and help in the fields.

We have a fairly large farm, but we don't have any animals.

They say that there is no need to keep the children working until late every day, so unless it is a busy harvest season, the afternoons are mostly free.

I sometimes played with the neighborhood children, and when I had time, my father would teach me swordsmanship and my mother would teach me life magic.

There were no detailed procedures like in agriculture on earth. After the seeds were sown, fertilizer and water were applied, and the rest depended on the magic of the land and the weather.

That is the way it is. Of course, we take precautions against insects and such, so it's not like we don't really do anything.

What surprised me was the existence of a tool for daily life called a "Magic Machine.

Simply put, it is like a household appliance, used to boil water for the bath and for lighting.

I only know of these two things that are used in the house, but it seems that by combining magic stones and materials with magic power, it can be used for a variety of things.

The power source is a stone called a "battery," which contains magical power.

...I guess it's a game world after all.

It seems somewhat similar to [SeveChro].

However, even with my knowledge of the game, which I loved to look around the world, I can't think of a village named Feld Village.

I can't say for sure that this is the world of [SeveChro] because I don't know anything about [Magic Machine] or [batteries] or anything useful like that.

"But if it was [SeveChro], it's possible, isn't it?"
