Chapter 83 The Land of the Rising Sun, Part 3

◆ Azuma Mountain ◆

At the beginning, it was just a forest, and I was disappointed that it was exactly like this, but as we went on, it became deeper. After descending a cliff, we found ourselves on a steep slope again, and there was no path, just trees covering the ground. The brightness of the sky was hidden by the leaves, and it was dim even though it was supposed to be daytime.

Of course, there were wild animals, and I was attacked by a bear twice before I came here. After seeing the bears in the Bears Forest, I thought they looked adorable. No matter what they do, they can't hurt us at all. It was so insistent that we gave it a little scare, and it shrank back and ran off deeper into the forest.

Then there were the bugs. I found myself with a thin worm attached to my leg, and a group of mosquitoes is flying around. Of course, there were none like the monstrous insects released by Vito of the Twelve Generals, but there were so many of them that there was no end to the number of times I could squash them. I was so angry that I tried to release sonic rippers into the surrounding area, but Roel told me not to destroy the forest without a second thought.

I don't think this is the time for that. We're definitely lost.

"I don't know which way is which anymore..."

"Yeah, I don't even know if we're making progress."

I underestimated them. We had conquered dungeons beyond the norm, and now we were lost in the mountains, where no demons appeared.

No, to be honest, it was much more dangerous than a bad dungeon. The atmosphere is similar to that of the Bear's Forest, but the size and depth of this dungeon are much greater. The information that it was a chain of mountains was correct. I don't know where we are in the mountains, or even if we have crossed one mountain.

Once, I took a big jump and looked down at the forest from the air, trying to reach Mt. Mountains are nothing. Mountains, mountains, mountains, mountains. I didn't know how many more mountains I had to cross or which way to go.

I thought I was getting close enough to jump towards Mt. Daigami, but it wasn't making any progress. What could be so strange?

"I knew it, this is not normal...this place."

"Are we being led astray by some kind of Lash illusion?"

"Maybe. If so, who is doing it?"

"Daigami-sama."

I guessed right, and Roel didn't disagree. If that's the case, then what we see is just a distraction. Daigami-sama, don't underestimate me.

"Roel, I'm in a bit of a hurry."

I gently closed my eyes. I closed my eyes, and all I could hear was the rustling of the trees, the only thing that told me that this was a forest.

"Oops..."

I jumped over the tall trees and took a big jump forward. Relying completely on my intuition, I take in the sight of Mount Daigami and continue on toward it. I don't rely on the scenery in front of me. I just keep going.

Just keep going.

I go forward. Flying. We move forward. Fly.

We landed on the ground, with a broken branch or two.

But then, there was a steep slope below.

"Whoa! Sorry Roel, hold on tight!"

"Yes!"

The moss-covered foothold was unexpectedly slippery, and I almost lost my balance. I almost lost my balance, but I was able to hold on with only one foot, and just when I think I've recovered, I'm forced to run down the slope. I couldn't stop even if I wanted to, so I got desperate and jumped with all my might.

"Whoa!"

"Roel, it's okay!"

I managed to land on the ground while being mercilessly smashed by branches and leaves. I wanted to take a breath, but they wouldn't let me. The foothold seemed to be at the top of a cliff, and the whole thing started to collapse as I landed.

"Hiyaaaah!"

I had no choice but to scream as I fell. No matter how hard I tried, I have no wings, so I can't fly. There was nothing I could do about it.

It was like a deep valley where I had to fall down. Our screams did not cease until we reached the ground.
