A Rosy Master and Disciple

Some time after Sarah became Mari's disciple, they visited the temple.

"I heard there is an important ceremony today, what ceremony is it?"

"What is it?" she asked. "You didn't ask your sister?" "No, it's my sister and I's Master-Disciple ceremony.

"Sarah is already a great disciple, isn't she? She is now able to use the resurrection magic Resurrection, and we are going to celebrate.

Mari and Sarah were led to a large room for the ceremony, and as they entered, a flurry of flowers burst into the air. And there was Chris in the back, smiling and welcoming them.

"Saintess-sama, congratulations on your wedding today, and Sarah, congratulations to you as well."

"Thank you, High Priestess-sama."

Chris began reading from the temple scriptures, then turned to them and said.

"By God's guidance, you two are about to become master and disciple.

---Do you swear to love, honor, comfort, and help one another in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, in riches and in poverty, and to be faithful to one another as long as you live?"

"I swear."

Sarah's cheeks flushed as she answered, but Mari froze in place.

(What? This is like a wedding ceremony.)

But if she objected at this point, she would embarrass Sarah.

"...I swear."

Mari answered in the same way for the time being.

After the ceremony, the couple walked to Misery Castle amidst a crowd of people congratulating them. In the hall of the castle, there was sumptuous food, wine, and all kinds of sweets, and Mari's mind went blank when she saw them.

By the time she realized that something terrible was going on in the castle, it was already too late.

During the reception, Sophie came to congratulate Mari.

"Congratulations, Mari," she said.

"Did Sophie know?"

"Did Sophie know?" "What do you mean she knew?

"You mean the master-disciple ceremony."

"Yes. When a female priestess becomes a disciple, it's like getting married. You see, when a woman loses her virginity, she loses half her magic power and has to retire, so she often misses her wedding because she doesn't want to lose her virginity. That's why only priestesses are allowed to have same-sex marriages.

---Did you not know that?

"I didn't know."

Sophie hurriedly approached Mari and whispered secretly in her ear.

("That's good. Don't tell anyone I didn't know! Otherwise, Sarah-chan will cry.)

I looked at Sarah, who was happily receiving everyone's congratulations. She was in no mood to say that it was a mistake!

When our eyes met, she turned her cheeks and slumped down shyly. Seeing her lovely appearance, Mari's heart was filled with an inexpressible sense of happiness.

"Well, it's okay. This is just another chance of fate."

Seeing Mari's openness, Sophie smiled happily.

This is a digression, but Mari and Sarah's mentor-student relationship had a profound impact on the people around them.

Many priestesses rushed to apply for the apprenticeship, and couples were born walking shoulder to shoulder in the temple.

And among the young apprentice priestesses, playing "master and apprentice" became very popular. Of course, the younger ones would call the older ones 'sister.

"It worked out well, Your Excellency Prime Minister."

"Now Saintess-sama will be able to settle down in the Divine Kingdom."

"We cannot let Saintess-sama go."

"Yes. We have information that the Demon King Booel is after the dragon, so Saintess-sama must work hard.

"Sophie tells me that you are already preparing to defeat the dragon.

"That's good to hear."

Mari and Sarah's master-disciple ceremony was orchestrated by Chris and the Prime Minister. Laughing, the two discuss how to guide Mari in the future.

The two men were laughing and discussing how they would guide Mari in the future.

As Chris had said, Mari had begun to prepare for the defeat of the dragon. The first thing to do is to make sure that you have a good idea of what you want to do.

The dragon---that is, the evil dragon that drove the continent of Ardesia to the brink of extinction 300 years ago.

(That's that dragon, isn't it?)

In fact, the same dragon existed in the world of the game Mari was playing.

In the game, the undead dragon was said to be impossible to slay. Mari's party was the first to defeat it.

Mari acquired the extra skill "Saintess of Ardesia" in a job change quest. The magic "Saintess's Blessing" unique to that skill was the decisive factor in defeating it.

(According to Chris, we sealed the tyrannical dragon with the grace of Saintess 300 years ago as well. ) "Tyrannical dragons, Saintess, the grace of Saintess... this world and the game world are too similar.

Mari thinks. Mari wonders if she has been reborn in this world in order to defeat the dragon.

If she is right, she can predict where and when the dragon will be resurrected.

Mari held a meeting with the prime minister on this matter. He was astonished when he heard what it was about!

"Okay, Saintess-sama, you want to see if the incident you mentioned will happen on the day of the harvest festival."

"Yes. I am predicting the resurrection of the tyrannical dragon based on my experience before my reincarnation. However, I have no proof that the events I experienced before will happen in this world. If the events of the Harvest Festival happen in this world, the events of the resurrection of the dragon will happen in the same way."

"I understand. Please go to the place where the event will happen during the Harvest Festival and see if your prediction is correct.

(Source: Harill)

After a while, Harill came to the castle.

"Long time no see, Harill. It's been a while since the skeleton attack.

"It's been a while, Mari-sama.

"You've grown up a lot since I last saw you.

"I turned thirteen the day before yesterday. Thank you for the gift I received from Sophia-sama.

He held up his brand new wand. It was an expensive wand with high magic power, but Mari was excited. Incidentally, the brand new cloak he is wearing was a gift from Sophie.

The three of them had a meeting in Sophie's room.

"Harill, how is your training going?"

"We are training to shift the axis of the burst magic attack as instructed. My magical power is growing steadily, and I am now able to kill monsters with just the shockwave of my burst magic."

"Mari, don't worry. From my point of view, Harill's work is going well."

"But, Mari-sama, why did you shift the axis of attack? It would be so much easier to kill him with a direct hit.

"Well, I'll tell you soon. The reason why you shift the axis of attack and attack only with shockwaves is because a direct hit from magic does not work at all on the monster you are trying to hunt."

A monster for which a direct hit from magic doesn't work. Harill knew of a few that were ineffective, but there was only one that was 'completely ineffective.

"A rampaging dragon, is it?"

"How did you know? We're thinking of taking down the dragon."

"Harill, you can decline if you are afraid. We expect to be safe, but we can't rule out any danger, and there is always the possibility that we could die.

"I'm not turning it down! This is a great opportunity. This is a great opportunity and I will definitely be useful, so please let me participate. Please let me participate.

"Okay. Let's ask for your participation as well."

Mari explained the upcoming schedule.

"Understood. So we can meet early in the morning on the day before the harvest festival?"

"Yes. Is that a problem for you to arrange the schedule?"

"Yes, that's fine. Mr. Derrick and the others will be absent during the harvest festival.

After all the necessary explanations, they escorted Harill back to the gate. As they watched his back, Sophie spoke to Mari.

"Hey, Harill said he would join us," she said.

"So he was an adventurer too."

"Yes, Mari, I have decided!

I've decided what?

I'm going to make her my apprentice!

"I don't deny that, but Harill is a mage. I don't deny that, but Harill is a sorcerer.

"You can't do that to Mari!"

"What's cheating?" "In my case, I'm exercising a legitimate right!

They returned to Misery Castle, exchanging stupid remarks.
