Life Updates

I'm happy to announce that I got married this month!

It was a big life moment for me and took months of planning and lots of behind-the-scenes scrambling to keep things on track here and in my personal life.

Now that it's happened, I will have more time to dedicate to working on skins and my new project, Frame Vision.

Frame Vision

If you've been following my Twitter (@vc_primal) you might have seen me posting some updates about it. Here's a recent example:

I'm very excited to share more about this project now that I've gotten the basics down. My goal is to build a modern Heads Up Display for Melee that includes combo counters, advanced tech callouts, and even automated commentary.

Just like with Animelee, my goal is to bring attention to Melee and make it more interesting for outsiders and newcomers, while also serving the hard-core community.

I need to make something clear though - Frame Vision is not currently in game. I should also mention that it currently only works with local play or online matches, not replays or spectating.

It is possible to bring Frame Vision in-game. I am working on proving out the concept and building excitement for the project, so I can get a team together and port it to Melee.

Right now, it's a Javascript program that hooks into Slippi's backend and receives real-time information about the game, and displays it in a web browser. I then use OBS to layer it on top of my game footage for streaming or recording videos.

I will be making regular updates/releases to Frame Vision on this Patreon, so if you'd like to use it, I strongly suggest familiarizing yourself with SlippiHUD, which is currently the backbone of Frame Vision. I'll have more information about it in the upcoming release of v0.1.

Animelee Skins

What about Animelee skins??

I'm glad you asked! I have no plans to stop posting skins regularly.

As a nod to my wife, I will be posting anime bae's and waifu skins for the next little while, so feel free to make suggestions for what baddies you'd like to see brought to Melee.  

In general, my focus will be increasingly on anime characters and series crossovers, which I know have been in high demand since I finished the Animelee base character pack.

My monthly goal is to release at least 1 character + another 1 stage and/or character skin every month. I have also been receiving a lot of commission requests from esports orgs and members of the community, which I will be sharing here on top of my regular posting schedule as they get completed.

Patreon Membership

Lastly, I am considering changing my membership billing from being on the 1st of every month, to being every 30 days from whenever you signed up.

This is to avoid people getting double charged if they sign up late in the month, but also to give me some more flexibility on releasing skins.

Let me know your thoughts on this one, since the change is permanent if I decide to move away from the billing on the 1st of every month option.

I will also be adding some new tiers to help me understand who is subbing for skins and who is subbing for Frame Vision, but don't worry, all tiers get access to everything I post here.
