Thanks for today Max :) posted this comment under the live announcement as well, but here: If you’re interested, here’s the link for Namjoons Vogue interview(just scroll down for English): https://www.vogue.co.kr/2021/12/21/rm의-치열한-여정 and here’s for his GQ interview https://www.gq.com.au/entertainment/music/rm-i-want-to-free-myself-in-order-to-exist-as-the-real-me/image-gallery/76fd1895648e8778c13fcda412f82f9c?pos=3. I believe they’re both done at the same day :) it’s a collab, but both interviews are great! As well as the interviews for all the other members! But this was just in relation to what you talked about in the live :) also, in Jin’s vogue interview, he talks about the distinction between the artist Jin and the person Kim Seokjin 👍🏼

Re the conversation about bts having a quantifiable impact on the entire South Korean economy https://www.borgenmagazine.com/examining-the-economic-impact-of-bts/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_impact_and_legacy_of_BTS

I am currently with family for the holidays already so I had to miss the live but I am so looking forward to this !

really liked this reaction! can't wait for more ITS reactions!!!

Just got to the part where you wonder about Jin’s expressiveness. He’s mentioned before that he used to be a darker personality, but the more he made people smile and be happy and that made him happier so it’s a feedback loop. I think in more recent comments he’s made he’s mentioned that he’s joking around like 90% of the time and he can’t even tell you if he’s performing or not, but that it helps him and his mood regardless of whether his depression pops up or not. I think that’s fascinating and how he has gotten to know himself that maybe that little extra push outward to joke and smile and make others happy actually is healing for him personally. I hope that makes sense!

Also in a later episode you’ll see Jin’s ability to be soft and an amazing and supportive listener in a more serious way when Yoongi shares some deep thoughts with him. Lastly I think Jin is a very deeply introspective and very private person. He’s also mentioned before that he doesn’t think people need to know how hard he works. I agree that he’s a fascinating person as well, and very special. It takes a lot of inner strength to do what he does, and I think he functions as a strong pillar for the group.

A little bonus info on Jin in addition to what's already been mentioned: He also said in Break The Silence (recorded in 2019) that "Some people might find this hard to believe, but I'm really quiet when I'm alone. [...] As Jin, I don't really want to show people that side of me since I'm a person who likes games and movies. So I try my best not to show my darker side. I try hard to act more cheerful or show only my bright side. So I tend to separate Jin and Kim Seokjin." He also added that he wants fans to gain happiness from watching him. 💜

Linaccessible.

I'm just excited to see you discover a different side of them ! Also I don't know if you have access to it, but there is a behind-the-scenes for each episode. They're cool too. I'm looking forward to see the next reaction to BTS in the soop someday !

Thank you for the reaction! I really like in the soop bc it showcases a different side of them, like you said. In particular, I love seeing Yoongi's leadership through taking charge of meals for everyone. V is pretty quiet on this season, but he seems to shine more in the second season.

Anonymous

Very early on in their career all of the members voted that the person they wanted to be with when they are stressed or in need of emotional support is jimin. Jimin voted for Hobi.

Also you may like the BTS Bon Voyage’s (1-4). It is very similar to this but it has the boys traveling. 1. Backpacking through Europe, 2. Hawaii , 3. Malta, 4. New Zealand

Anonymous

You should also try Bon Voyage!! Season 2 (Hawaii) in my opinion is the most entertaining. it's fun seeing them in different settings. V was quiet during this season and for a lot of 2020 because he mentioned he was burned out and depressed; one thing about V is that he wears his emotions on his sleeve and is incredibly honest, and never fakes happiness, so it's easy to tell how burned out he is throughout many of the things BTS filmed in 2020. Now, however, in 2021, he mentioned that he's a lot happier and it's easy to tell with the way he acts.

Thanks for the reaction! I hope you will react to more episodes of In the Soop in the future! In episode 6 of season 1, Taehyung and Jungkook have a heart-to-heart conversation, so I think that would be a good option to watch!

Melissa Sims

Jungkook is definitely most in his element when he is performing. He loves singing. His last few vlives have gotten longer and longer because he started singing to the viewers and taking song requests. He got so caught up in the livestream and kept going on longer and longer even after he kept saying it was the last song because he was having so much fun singing. I think he feels the most comfortable articulating his feelings through music.

Oh my, you need to read their interviews for Vogue and CQ for sure if you haven't already. It's some of my favourite interviews I've read from them. So insightful! Also; I really enjoyed this stream and I hope you continue to watch all the episodes in order, cause it was very fun and calming!

Shay

I loved it !! I hope you will react to more in the soop and run ? It's so good to see you react to it !!! Will you do all the in the soop episodes ?

PamTan

I just joined your Patreon because another AMY told me you were doing in the Soop. I love your reactions and your insights. I hope I can see all In the soop episodes with you.

It’s really interesting the way you analyze these guys and most of the time you are on point. On those certain things since you are not fully aware of their history and also considering which content you are watching; it’s ok not to notice them or get them wrong. Jin & Suga are like the parents of BTS. Jin being the mommy & Suga the dad. They have a very interesting relationship as these two are the oldest in the group and Jin is Suga’s only hyung. If you continue with this series then in later episodes you can see these two having deep conversations. Oh J-hope is very strict when he wants to be especially on performances as he’s the dance leader. All the members find Hobi the scariest when he’s mad. In the latest docu-series they all shared this sentiment that what things most people find ordinary those are very precious to them. And they also acknowledged that what’s normal for them is special to others. Jin has said that he’s very quiet when he’s by himself. He wanted to have a line where he was Jin and where he was Seokjin as he didn’t want to show his darker side. But I think in the latest interview with Vogue/GQ he has said it’s very difficult to differentiate now. RM and other members have also said that Jin played a very crucial role to the team dynamics and RM often felt grateful to Jim’s capability of breaking the ice in any situation. You should watch their Korean interview earlier this year Let’s BTS in which they speak about Jin’s role as well. Namjoon has said this a lot that he lacks in a lot of areas which are considered to be like normal trivial things - cooking, driving. So he tries to do other things like cleaning etc when other members are doing these things. So maybe that’s why he was eager to do a good job of cleaning. And you are right he does put a lot of pressure on himself for any task. In a way all of them do in some way or the other. Members usually turn to Jimin & Hobi when they need comforting. The maknae line especially to Jimin. You said that Jin & Jimin might be similar in wanting to have a happy environment and are somewhat similar in that way. However Jimin & Namjoon both have said that they are very similar and understand each other. Also on the comment of guys praising each other especially Jimin. Jimin thrives from compliments and he needs constant validation; which he himself have said. Thanks for your reaction and it made me so happy to see you smiling when watching them. And I hope you continue with this series and maybe go on to their other series Bon Voyage which has 4 seasons spanning for years - 2016 to 2019. These are like mini travel series with the Boys - Northern Europe, Hawaii, Malta & New Zealand. In the Soop has 2 seasons - 2020 & 2021 which I believe was a replacement for BV due to pandemic and travel restrictions.

I really hope you’ll react to all of season 1 of in the soop (and perhaps later also season 2). There are so many interesting and enjoyable dynamics this season that come out from every single one of the members, it’s amazing. This was only a little taste, the rest of the season is just as amazing to say the least! I’d love to revisit these episodes with you! Sadly in my timezone i can’t join the live zoom calls but i love watching everything back.

Just wanted to let you know that Jin has said before he does not feel comfortable being called "mom" or any sort of form of that word! He said this at a fan meet.

Mia Fisher

Loved this! In the Soop is great. Maybe you could react to more TXT (Tomorrow x together) hopefully :)

Mia Fisher

yea, idk if their necessarily calling Jin "Mom", more so just saying he has qualities similar to that of a mother in a typical family role. I see what they are saying

taetaebear01 (Lindsey E.)

Loved this reaction! In the soop is so comforting and relaxing to watch. I have no idea why it’s so entertaining to watch them do nothing but goof around but it just is. If you continue to watch this season, I know you’ll appreciate how much hobi seeks out the other members for one on one time. You already picked up on this but it becomes even more clear throughout that he really values quality time with the different members. I think it’s very sweet. Lovey reaction as always, I hope you enjoyed as much as you seemed to !

Zoe

you should react to when hobi (jhopes nickname) turns into dance teacher mode by SugaArmmy, though he is the hobi that we know and love in some clips, he does turn strict especially when they are practicing right before a performance to make sure everything is right

Zoe

also bon voyage season 1 and the rest of the seasons are really fun. they explore on their own and have to use only cash given from their company and have to fend for them selves in different countries and sometime split into teams. i think you would really enjoy that also :)

This was my first time watching in the soop! It was so fun and relaxing. Loved it!

I just learned to appreciate Jin much more after your reactions… I always thought him to be a little Blah” since he is quite … but now, I agree with you Max … he’s the one who seems to be very fun to have around

I loved watching your reactions to my favorite group & favorite people in the world, BTS! I can't wait for episode 2 of "In the soop" season 1! I don't have any ARMY friends so this is my only way to enjoy them with other people. And you are one of my very favorite Max. You are so insightful. You definitely get it. Thank you for sharing! BORAHE!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

J-Hope is the most strict member and also the most loving especially towards the youngest members. He balance RM really well, the dynamics are good. You will find from the In The Soop series how well loved the youngest members are, they are probably the most loved "maknaes" (youngest) of any group in the industry.

Angel Williams

Suga is know as the King of Swag (On stage). But Hobi is always swag. Especially his walk.
