Last month we did the first episode of a  new podcast called 'Statements', in which I put ... er ... statements to the guest (Tim Stillman), and he had to Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, or Strongly Disagree with them.

Check it out here.

For the next episode, recording on Wednesday, my guest will be Elliot Smith (@yankeegunner), and we're looking for you to provide the talking points.

For example:

Willian has been a successful signing - STRONGLY DISAGREE

John Terry is history's greatest monster - STRONGLY AGREE

etc

Obviously they should be Arsenal related. We'll pick some out and build the podcast around them.

Thanks!

Arsenal will never win the top honours in the game while KSE remain owners.

Have we missed a trick by not playing AMN in midfield ? Building on that have we missed a trick not playing David Luiz in midfield given he had been one of the more progressive ball players when things were bad !

The club would sell Pepe for 40 million

By the way - the Tierney question "Yeah, but can he do it on a warm and sunny day in London?" should definitely be a t-shirt!

Seeing as it's Elliott, Olivier Giroud would be an ideal backup option at centre forward and we'd have been better off with him in the squad in the past couple of years.

Arteta needs more experienced help in his role

We will sign more than 1 player in January

Anonymous

Arteta can coach Pepe and turn around his form

Anonymous

Teams shouldn't just have one good and one not so good goalkeeper, instead they should use keepers dependent on their strengths, i.e. an agile keeper against teams that mainly pose aerial threats, a keeper who's great one on one against teams with fast runners/counter attackers.

Edu is a budget Raul with a contacts book more dubious than his passport

LOVING Ian's question. Please ask it! Here's mine: Arsenal will finish above Tottenham this season.

Arsenal will finish at least 8th in the PL this season 🤔

Arsenal are still a good example of a modern ‘super club’

A prime Tony Adams wouldn't make it into this Arsenal team.

If Aubameyang only scores 10 goals in the PL this season there will be pressure to sign a "seasoned" centre forward in the summer even if Laca stays on in 2021-22.

We have to buy an attacking midfielder this month to salvage our season. (ESR cant play every game)

If we manage to shift some players in Jan and have spare slots to register players we should add Ozil

Bellerin is the latest in a long line of scapegoated players and much of the criticism of him has been completely unwarranted.

We need a Bruno Fernandes/KDB type signing (Influential, leadership, mentality) to compete with the top teams in the BPL

Anonymous

We should sell Aubameyang this summer

Anonymous

Bergkamp in his prime would walk into any team in world football currently

Anonymous

Following the recent results putting us midtable, Mikel Arteta has the squad performing at their par level for the season.

Anonymous

Given a change of attitude and rapprochement with Arteta, Matteo Guendouzi could be a valuable asset in the mid-field next season, even simply as a utility substitute.

Anonymous

Arsenal should cash in on AMN and fund a move for an 8 or a 10

Arsenal are handling William Saliba in a way that will make him want to stay and repay the club for their patience and for helping him develop as a player.

Granit Xhaka is the slowest and dumbest player of the Premier League - Strongly agree

Willan has the ability to turn it around at Arsenal and be a successful signing, helping bring up the younger players like Saka

Anonymous

Guendouzi should not be recalled to arsenal if his “attitude” hasn’t improved

Anonymous

Bringing Wenger back as a director (either executive or “of football”) would undermine the authority of MA. and should be avoided at all costs

Anonymous

If AMN isn’t happy being a utility player we should play him in ONE position or SELL him

Anonymous

If Auba scores less than 15 goals in the Prem for 20/21 he should be sold ASAP (this allows for a 1 in 2 ratio for the remaining matches, in my opinion a minimum ratio for a “world class striker”)

Anonymous

KSE are great owners and custodians of The Arsenal

Anonymous

Martinelli, ESR, Saka, Willock and AMN should be our midfield unit as they’ve proven they work well together and have the best chance of forming a long term partnership

Anonymous

Arsenal are worse off since Wenger left

Anonymous

The working partnership of Saka and Bellerin is the death nail to Pepe’s future starting on the Right of the team

Anonymous

Willian should never have been signed

Anonymous

We should sell Auba in the summer if someone wants him

Anonymous

Arsenal should try to sell both Auba/Laca and purchase an elite level fit for purpose CF and also use Martinelli

Anonymous

With the caveat that I don't closely follow other clubs, between the Ozil contract & freezing out, Willian signing (length of contract against age), Saliba failed registration, covid pay cut, etc, the Arsenal management are really quite shit at management.

Anonymous

Arsenal are currently the third biggest club in London

Anonymous

It’s clear MA thinks Nelson isn’t good enough to make it at arsenal and should be cashed in on

Anonymous

Emu Buendia is the attacking midfielder/inside right hybrid we should push to sign this January.

Anonymous

By the end of next summer, we should have moved on from Xhaka, Elneny, Pepe, Laca, Sokratis, Ozil, Mustafi, Chamber, Kola, Nketiah and Willian.

Anonymous

Edu is good at his job.

AW

While Tierney is good in the role, his talents were not maximized as the center back on the left of a three. Allowing both him and saka to play in advanced roles has unlocked the attack.

Anonymous

The penny should drop for Pepe having sat on the bench and watched how others play.

Anonymous

Arteta has convinced everyone that he is the right manager in the long run for Arsenal.

Anonymous

The Kroenke’s will sell Arsenal soon, we will be bought by a wealthy benefactor with a passion for the Club, Arsene Wenger will be subsequently reinstated at some level, and will win the Premier League within 5 years.

Anonymous

Arsenal, and the Premier League in general, is extremely unpredictable, so trying to attach a narrative to every win or loss is a waste of time.

Anonymous

Arsenal should not sign any players over the age of 24 for the foreseeable future.

Anonymous

If given unlimited sums of cash and four transfer windows, Arsenal can win the premier league with the current ownership, technical director, and manager.

Anonymous

Saka is better then Jason sancho

Anonymous

After Smith-Rowe, Saka and Martinelli have played together a bit more and more data is available, they will be less effective as teams will figure out how to defend against the new system

Anonymous

We need at least two more creative midfielders

Anonymous

Our academy is the best in the premier league

Anonymous

As much as we want to be behind long term projects the football news cycle and match to match coverage of the game makes this almost impossible and leads us to vacillate wildly, particularly when assessing the technical staff such as Edu, whose remit can only be fairly judged on a time frame consisting of years whilst we judge based on a time frame of week to week, game to game.

Anonymous

Willian would be more effective in the number 10 position than on the wing.

Anonymous

Mikel Arteta will remain as Arsenal coach for the next 3 years

Steven Payne

AMN should be playing in the midfield over xhaxa.

Anonymous

Arteta has been let down by senior players as they see themselves as equals, given the small age difference.

Anonymous

Arsenal will qualify for European football next season

Anonymous

Given Martinelli’s return from injury, Balogun’s emergence, Nketiah always being a solid option and Aubameyang being our captain who signed the extension, Arsenal should look to sell Lacazette in January - 18 months left on his contract and a nice patch of form would bring in solid return which would be better used for other areas of the squad.

Anonymous

Arsenal should let Nico Pepe go for any bids over £30m (in Jan or summer)

Anonymous

Chocolate shouldn’t be kept in the fridge

ODA555

Kanu was the best #25 at Arsenal thus far.

Anonymous

Aubameyang does not know how to play as a winger, as exemplified by Tierney’s goal when Auba took up a position 2 yards away and behind Tierney. Tierney’s reaction was “if you’re not going to make a forward run, I’ll show you how it’s done”

Anonymous

A January window with only outgoings can be considered successful

Anonymous

Kieran Tierney is Arsenal's best signing since Özil.

Anonymous

If we don't have European football next season, this would end up with Arsenal starting the 21/22 season off worse off squad wise than the current season

Anonymous

Most arsenal fans are fans of Wenger/Wengerball rather than Arsenal football club.

Anonymous

Even a Europa League position in the Premier League is going to be a lofty goal at this point, so the Cups should be our focus if we want to play in European competition next year.

Anonymous

The Premier League is where we should be playing the youth to see who can truly make the grade for regular first team play in the following season, not the cup games.

Anonymous

Auba is a liability to Arsenal's offensive balance

Anonymous

The types of food is more important than the time of eating when classifying brunch. I.e. brunch should be a menu consisting of breakfast and lunch foods, not just eating breakfast foods in the afternoon.

Anonymous

Arsenal are on an upward trajectory overall

Anonymous

Creative midfield is an on-going problem that we still haven't properly addressed.

Anonymous

Giving Jack Wilshere a contract until the end of the season is a good short term option

Anonymous

Edu is not suited for the technical director position, we need a more experienced director to work with Arteta and Ideally guide him in tough situations.

Anonymous

Holding has been pretty good and deserves a new contract

Anonymous

In a Anchorman style street fight between the Arsecast crew and the Arsenal Vision crew, James is the one who gets killed by a trident. Bonus question: Who threw the trident?

Anonymous

Eddie Nketiah/Maitland-Niles/Nelson/Willock should be sold if we receive reasonable offers this January

Anonymous

If Arsenal have a choice between William Saliba and Mikel Arteta, they should choose Saliba.

Anonymous

Viewed overall the summer transfer business of 2020 was a success (we'll include in this making Mari and Cedric permanent).

Anonymous

Rob Holding can have a long successful career at Arsenal with the right CB partner, even if he's not an elite CB. This assumes Arsenal are also successful during that time.

Anonymous

Mikel Arteta picks his team based off their haircuts.

Anonymous

arsene wenger should be consulted by the club in a formal or informal capacity

Anonymous

Martinelli should be playing in stead of Aubameyang.

Anonymous

Sakas performances have highlighted how bad a signing Willian was. ESR performance have given Arsenal the bad option of not signing a creative mid fielder in Jan .

Anonymous

Look forward to Elliot trying to give a short answer 🤣

Anonymous

Nelson should be getting Willian’s minutes for the rest of the season as it would benefit the club more

Anonymous

Arsenal need to draw more fouls in the final third.

Anonymous

Pepe should not be sold in the summer, and kept as a useful squad player for seasons to come.

Anonymous

Introducing into the first team young and/or academy central defensive players is an order of magnitude more challenging, for both the club and Arteta, than introducing young/academy players in forward positions.

Anonymous

Arsenal will win the Premier League in the next 5 years

Anonymous

Our worst summer signing was not Willian but Andreas Georgson

Anonymous

Arsenal will make the top 6 this season.

Anonymous

Arsenal men's team will win a game 10-0.

Anonymous

Arteta was right to play the more senior players ahead of the young ones. They should have been more able to apply the tactics and playstyle he wanted due to their experience, and it made the young players hungry and determined to do well when they got their chances.

Anonymous

Saka should be sold in the summer if we can fetch 80m+

Anonymous

ESR Is not the only creative midfielder we need this season and we must sign another before the window closes.

Anonymous

Arsenal will win the Premier league again one day.

Anonymous

We should let Alex Rúnarsson have three months off to play Meekus' younger brother in Zoolander 3.

Anonymous

Arsenal’s recent run of form is due to the change of playing style and not new personnel.

Anonymous

The only meaningful way to make this season a success is to win the Europa League.

Anonymous

At 10-1... Arsenal are an excellent bet to win the Europa League

Anonymous

Emile Smith Rowe drives a light blue 1980 Ford Fiesta and picks up a Tesco bag clutching Tierney from the bus stop on the way into training every week, but not before they stop at the petrol station for a Ribena and a Kit Kat. Agree or Disagree.

Anonymous

Apologies if this has already been asked - I haven't read all of the suggestions: Does your second-choice keeper have to be any good? ;-)

Anonymous

Oops, wrong format. "You don't need a good second-choice keeper".

Anonymous

Edu as technical director is the right man to take Arsenal back to the top

Anonymous

Could we have an all British starting back line in the next 3 to 5 years?

Anonymous

You will begin to feel a lot better about the competency of the leadership in place if in this window we move on from Ozil, Sokratis and maybe Mustafi/Chambers, sell Eddie, secure Balogun to a new deal, and bring in a competent creative midfielder (6mo loan or permanent)

Anonymous

RVP was over indulged and betrayed Wengers loyalty

Anonymous

As long as he's at Arsenal, Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be a super sub squad player. If he's sold he'll feature regularly at one position for whoever buys him.

Anonymous

Arteta has simplified his system over the past 3 games.

Anonymous

Pablo Mari was a great signing and will regularly feature in our back line for the next 2-3 years.

Anonymous

Bukayo Saka will be an arsenal player for the next 10 years.

Anonymous

Edu has not received enough credit for Martinelli and/or Magallhes.

Anonymous

Spurs will win the league, sending Arsenal into such a powerful shame spiral that we see Invincibles 2 in 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

Anonymous

Assuming no incomings and a recall, a midfield three of ESR, Partey and Lucas Torreira would be the best midfield three we could field of Arsenal players this year.

Anonymous

Kieran Tierney should inherit the Iceman monicker from Dennis Bergkamp (albeit for different reasons).

Anonymous

Wengers reputation is overrated when it comes to developing young talent. Don´t get me wrong I love Wenger and what he achieved but I think he gets more praise then is warranted for developing young talent. Sure there where a couple here and there, Fabregas, Nasri, Van Persie, that where really good, but would they not have come good elsewhere because the underlying talent was so strong? His strengths, in my opinion, where in getting established good players and making them great. Overmars, Viera, Henry, Petit, Pires, Ljungberg, Kosielny, all good players, some even mediocre, which he helped take a step up. Some of these established players also nosedived once his guiding hand was not there anymore, Hleb, Song. So many great prospects came to nothing under Wenger, Jeffers, Wright (Richard), Merida, Bendtner, Walcott, Denilson, Szczesny, Vela, Nordveit, Djourou, Fabianski, Bentley, Aliadiere. I could go on and on.

Anonymous

Runarsson should be shipped out ASAP regardless if a replacment is found or not, Macey should deputise until he can be improved upon.

Anonymous

Gabriel martinelli will be (eventually) be sold for a club record fee

Anonymous

arsenals funk in october-end of december under arteta felt different than the one we suffered under unai emery

Anonymous

Mesut Ozil deserves a better send off than the one he is going to get at the end of his time with us

Anonymous

One “attacking midfielder” signing won’t solve that many of our problems, even with Partey healthy

Anonymous

Eddie Nketiah could be get us an Iwobi/Ox-like 25-30 Million transfer fee over the next 6 months.

Anonymous

Mesut Ozil deserves nothing from this club

Anonymous

Stan Kroeber is exactly the type of owner Arsenal FC need to thrive in the long term while maintaining our club values.

Anonymous

To aid the club’s finances, Arsenal should sell a winter kit that will include all-white tights, ear-muffs and a strap-on hot water bottle.

Anonymous

Do you think that Arsène Wenger coming back in some role in the club would benefit arteta and the team in general

Anonymous

If Arsenal are considering some short term recruitment in January, Isco on loan for example, they should look at Jack Wilshire as a premier league ready alternative. Not to mention his connections to the club

Anonymous

Contractually speaking, Willian is the new Ozil.
