Chapter 21

With six o'clock closing in, Kolchak and Carol were getting ready to head to the New Market Mall. As they approached the door, Peter Brady entered.  Carol could see that her son was very upset.  This was the first time that Kolchak saw what Carol's body really looked like.

Peter had his mother's body although he had Peter's short curly brown hair.  He was wearing his baseball uniform.  It hugs his womanly curves, especially his breasts which hung low as they weren't supported by a bra as they had been when he was Carol Brady.

“What's wrong?” Carol asked.

“It's nothing.”

“Peter, I know something is wrong.  Tell me!”

“Mrs. Brady,” Kolchak interjected, “we have to go.”

“One minute, this is more important.”  Then focusing back at Peter Carol asked, “Tell me!”

“Mom,” Peter said hesitantly, “the coach won't let me play in the big game tomorrow.”

“Why not?”

“It's because of the bleeding.”

Carol looked over her son, she didn't see any blood anywhere.

“What bleeding?”

“I'm bleeding down there.  You know.  The coach won't let me play!  It's not fair, none of the other boys have this problem.”

Carol knew what Peter meant.  Before the swap, she had taken health.  “It'll be OK.  You can play the next game.  It won't last forever.”

“But this is the big game.  I have to play in it.  Stupid blood!”

Carol gave Peter a big hug.  She was the mother now.  It was her job to make her children feel better.  She felt genuinely sorry for Peter.  If she was still a boy, she would be devastated if she couldn't play in the big game.  She understood how Peter felt more than his mother ever could.  Carol and Peter were closer now than they had ever been.  They were living each other's lives.

“It'll be alright,” Carol soothed.  “When I get back, I'll make it up to do.  How about I get you a big ice cream sundae?”

“With pistachio ice cream?”

“Anything you like.  And tomorrow I'll play catch with you.”

“You can't throw.  You are a girl.”

“I can throw.  I'll show you tomorrow.  You'll see.”

Peter felt better as he returned to his room.  Carol was happy that she could help her son.

Peter went upstairs.  He had to change out of his clothes.  The blood spot had seeped through his briefs and was staining the pants of his baseball uniform.  It didn't help that the uniform had mostly white pants.  He needed to get out of those clothes and take a shower.

Once in the bathroom, Peter decided not to take a shower.  He took a bath instead.  He added bubble bath to the tube.  He enjoyed bubble bath although he didn't tell anyone about it.  The hot water felt so soothing.  It relaxed him.  His muscles were aching.  Before his period started, he was beginning to feel sore.  His body wasn't under to this type of activity.  It would take some time before his muscles would get used to the new activities that would be required of them after the swap.

Exiting the shower, Peter had the same problem he had before.  If he simply put on a new pair of underwear in no time they would be bloody too.  He couldn't use a woman's pad or a tampon, those are for women.  Instead, he made a makeshift pad with toilet tissue and replaced it as often as needed.

“That time of the month?” Bobby mocked sarcastically she he saw Peter.

Peter gave Bobby a severe look.

“Maybe you should move into the girl's room!”

Peter had had enough and jumped on Bobby.  They wrestled seriously at first and then continued more playfully.  It was fun for both of them.  Now that Peter had Carol's body, he was weaker and shorter than he had been, which aided Bobby.  With the tension broken, they watched TV together in the family room.  Bobby brought his dolly with him, Kitty Carryall.
