Chapter 6.

Jerry woke up early without having to use an alarm clock.  He got dressed for the day, mostly his own clothes except for the blouse he needed to show for the camera.   As he dressed, he wondered if he should have tried the nightgown.  What was the harm, it might have been fun to try, at least once?

Jerry entered the kitchen, Crystal had made breakfast.  He hadn't thought about that before.

"Oh, I'm sorry, you don't have to go through any trouble for me."

"Don't be ridiculous.  Sit down and eat."

"I really enjoyed trying on those dresses.  It was so much fun after learning about them."

"They made lovely dresses back then.

"I know what you mean.  We are starting to learn about the sixties now, the hemlines are going up."

"I know, the sixties are when the mini-skirt was invented.  You must like that."

"To tell the truth, those mini-skirts are sexier, but not as feminine.  The fashion of the fifties was much prettier.  They were also better for the average woman.  You had to be very thin with long legs to wear a mini-shirt.  Those poor girls who couldn't pull it off looked awful.  The fashion of the fifties anyone could wear.  A woman didn't have to show off so much skin if she didn't want to."

"You're right!"

The pair talked about fashions and what Jerry learned throughout breakfast.  But soon it was time to get to work.  Classes would start at 9 AM and he had to put his face on.

Jerry had gotten so attuned at putting on his makeup, he thought he could remove the plastic wrap from the front of the camera.  Before it was time to connect, Jerry tried just that.  His makeup had to be somewhat adjusted, but he was sure he didn't need any camera tricks.  Everyone knew him by now, it would be fine.

Jerry kept his cigarette in his mouth longer with his hands holding it to hide his face until he got comfortable with being seen directly.  In this session, he smoked more and inhaled more deeply on his cigarette than ever before.  Jerry had to adjust how he held his cigarette to give his hand a more feminine appearance as his hand was in the frame more than ever before.  Even though his legs weren't seen, he crossed them at the knees as he always did when there was a cigarette between his lips.  All these things aided his posture.

Without the aid of the plastic wrap, Jerry also had to be more expressive with his eyes and smile more.  as women do   But by the end of the day, he was confident with his appearance.  He was also well on the way to nicotine addiction.

Jerry really didn't like the fashions of the sixties at all.  He didn't want to say so in class, but when he and Crystal talked later in the day, they had a wonderful discussion that contrasted the two decades in fashion.  Jerry enjoyed stating his opinion.  Crystal defended the fashion of the sixties the best she could.  This helped Jerry understand the subject more thoroughly.  In the end, he had to admit there were some really nice things in sixties fashion, but he still preferred the earlier decade.

It didn't help matters anyway, Jerry found he couldn't wear the sixties fashions as well as he could wear the fifties.  His legs were long enough for mini-skirts, but they exposed the lack of curves he had there.  It was much easier to hide any physical flaws (like being a guy) under fifties fashion than sixties.

As a last-ditch effort Crystal suggested that if Jerry shaved his legs and the rest of his body, the apparel might look better.  Jerry couldn't resist the challenge and did so.

"Naaa," Jerry announced wearing a mini-dress after his legs and underarms, chest, etc. was shaven clean, "doesn't help."

At her advanced age, Crystal had to admit she couldn't pull of sixties fashions either.  But she assured Jerry, "The fashion of the seventies would be much better. You know that was the decade that I was just developing my fashion style."  It was the years when Crystal herself moved through her teens and became an adult.

"We'll see, but I don't think the seventies will hold a candle to the fifties."  He had vague images of the movie 'Saturday Night Fever', and the gaudy outfits the girls wore to discos.  He decided he would hate those cheap polyester things.  Even if the dresses weren't cheap, he thought the look was.

Satisfied with his win, Jerry got ready for bed.  This time he decided to see what it was like to try on a nightgown, circa the 1950s.  Jerry decided that Crystal wouldn't mind if he tried one of her nightgowns.  Without telling her, Jerry entered the walk-in closet and found several nightgowns.  He selected one he liked.  He felt strange wearing men's briefs with the gown so he also 'borrowed' a pair of her full-cut panties from the drawer.

Jerry was admiring himself having just dressed in the nightgown when his cell phone rang.  He had been pseudo-expecting his mother to call, but she didn't.

"Still working?" the voice on the other end asked.  It was his friend, Doug again.

"Yeah, she had me working all the time.  It seems I'm always doing something for her.  I haven't got an extra minute.  She even has me staying over so I can get more done."

"Is she paying you more?"

"Yeah," Jerry lied.  He couldn't explain the real reason he was here all the time.

"Well, that is good."

Jerry was smiling from ear to ear.  He found it amusing that he was dressed only in a floor-length nightgown and cotton panties and talking to his friend.  His friend would be shocked to see how he was.  Jerry didn't see anything wrong.  He actually felt scrumptious wearing the flowy garment.  Jerry grabbed the lower hem around his thigh with his manicured right hand and pulled the nightgown away from his body while sticking his right leg out to admire its fullness.  Not only could he see his manicured fingers, but he could also see his pedicured toes.  He wiggled them.

"Anyway, the reason I called was that a bunch of us are going camping this weekend.  Can you come?"

Jerry didn't have any interest in going.  Now that he was 'working' he thought that the things his friends and himself did before were mostly a waste of time.  He really didn't see why he previously liked those things.  They felt juvenile to him.  He had matured, he was a working man now.  What his friends were doing was kid stuff.

Besides they would be leaving on Friday, which meant that Jerry would have to get changed quickly to meet them.  He might have to cut that session short.  He didn't want to do that.

"I'm sorry, I just can't.  I have to work late on Friday and maybe some on Saturday.  This is taking all of my time."

"Sorry man, it'll be a lot of fun."

"I know, but what can I do.  When this is done, I'll have plenty of money and then we can do all sorts of things. You have fun without me."

"Kay."

When Doug got off the phone, Jerry phoned his mother.  "Hey Mom, Doug and some of the guys are going camping this weekend.  I'm going with them.  I won't be back home this weekend."

"But you were gone the entire week."

"I was working.  I need some time to play too."

"I understand."

"Will you stop home to get your gear?"

"Umm, no, Doug has extra. It won't be a problem."

"Have fun!"

"I will."

"Luv ya."

"I love you too."

Jerry got off the phone and then found his purse.  He decided to smoke a cigarette before going to bed.  He lit it and then turned on the radio to listen to some music.  He fell asleep soon thereafter.

Jerry had a very restful night.  He discovered that he liked the feel of the nightgown, especially when he was sleeping on satin sheets as he was at Crystal's.
