Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused  trouble to others for his own amusement. Cardonali had the ability to  put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted  to. He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an  elevator waiting to see who would get in.

Rosa Lopez kicked off her shoes and looked at herself on the mirrored surface of the elevator.  When she woke up this morning she was a frail Hispanic woman in her fifties who looked much older.  She had worked hard all her life to support her children as a cleaning woman.  But that wasn't what she saw in the mirror.

Now, she was young, curvy, relatively tall, and white.  She somehow knew that she also had plenty of money, the result due to a divorce settlement a couple of years back.  She knew she would never have to work again if she didn't want to.  She could have anything she could possibly want.

But this wasn't her.  It wasn't her body.  It wasn't her life.  Rosa's children didn't live with her anymore, they had moved out and were doing much better than she had been.  She loved them, but they wouldn't recognize her now. She was younger than her eldest son she knew.

Rose didn't know if she was living a dream or a nightmare.  She didn't know what to do.
