The Elevator Fourth Floor (Patreon)

Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused trouble to others for his own amusement.  Cardonali had the ability to put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted to.  He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an elevator waiting to see who would get in. 

Carl and Mindy Jones got into the elevator on their floor.  Carl was in the relative back of the elevator.

"You wanna go out boy?  Don't you, don't you?" Mindy cooed to her dog.

"You are going to have so much fun at the park.  You'll get to play with the other dogs.  Oh, it'll be so much fun for you," Mindy continued.

Carl gave Mindy a look.  After a while she noticed.

"What's that look?" Mindy asked Carl.

"It's that you treat Freckles better than you treat me."

"Don't be silly."

"You spoil that dog."

"I don't spoil him."  Then Mindy bent down to Freckles' level and said to the dog in a high-pitched voice, "I don't spoil you, do I?  But you deserved to be spoiled, don't ya?  Don't ya?"

When the elevator got to the lobby, no one got out.  Instead, Mindy pressed the button to return to the floor where her apartment was located.  When Mindy, Carl, and Freckles returned to the elevator, Mindy stood in the back.  Freckles and Carl were in the front of the elevator.  Carl had Freckles' spare collar around his neck.  The collar was attached to a leash that was in Mindy's hand.

Mindy was referring to both of them when she told them, "You are going to have so much fun at the park.  You'll get to play with the other dogs.  Oh, it'll be so much fun for guys."
