Wonderful reaction Dasha! That was a lot of fun! I’m glad you liked the movie! As other’s have mentioned, Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall both played multiple characters in the film. Murphy played the barber, the Jewish guy in the barbershop, the singer for Sexual Chocolate. Maybe some more I’m forgetting. Arsenio Hall(Semmi) played the reverend, one of the guys in the barbershop, one of the ladies in the nightclub. Not sure if you recognized them or not. You did recognize the Dukes though! Great reaction to their cameo! There is a Coming to America 2 that came out in 2021. But it wasn’t that great IMO.

Fun reaction, Dasha! This is such a great movie with some awesome character performances from Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall in multiple roles. Samuel L. Jackson had only done three other movies before this one, and James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair also played the animated king and queen in 'The Lion King'. A few things you probably missed: The barbers called Akeem "Kunta Kinte" after the character in 'Roots' who is an African man that's captured and sold as a slave in America. The 'SoulGlo' hairstyle is called 'Jheri curl' and requires a spray called curl activator to keep it looking nice. It's very greasy and leaves stains like on the couch. Arsenio's preacher character says "(God) helped Daniel get out of the lion's den. He helped Gilligan get off the island. Lord!" 'Gilligan's Island' was a well-known comedy show about castaways from the 1960's. Eddie Murphy is a big sci-fi fan and I'm sure that's why one of James Earl Jones's lines and delivery is pure Darth Vader. "Do not alert him to my presence. I will deal with him myself." You can almost hear the mechanical breathing.
