Look what fun retro magic I got into yesterday evening! Lauren's home is becoming the perfect place to create in. I recently saw her do a similar set and she wanted to explore more of it so I glammed myself up and stopped by. I rarely wear false lashes, but I wore some here and tried to do some more extreme makeup. It didn't really go as planned, but I still like how it all turned out. It's somehow over the top in a subtle way? I don't know, but it's pretty cool.

I love old houses that are filled with plants, books, art, and antique decor. That's essentially how Lauren's house is. One day I hope to leave this apartment living behind so I too can have my own wide open creative space to fill with trinkets and backdrops. Until then, I have my little spare bedroom and a world out before me.

I'm pretty happy I got to debut this dress finally for this look. I think it turned out to be pretty perfect for it! I've had this dress for so long now without wearing it that my boyfriend forgot he is the one that got it for me; he showed up to do some photos of his own after we had already started and remarked on how cool the dress was. He didn't believe me when I said he got it for me, hahaha.

This session, as per usual, inspired me to do some creative looks of my own for self-portraits. I feel like I'm so inspired all of the time but somehow always lack the motivation, time, or tools to execute my own ideas. Being an artist is difficult in any sense, but especially so when you have to juggle the business aspect as well as your own creativity and projects.

First thing's first... I need to hit up Party City for some of these disco balls! I'll utilize them in shoots for sure, but I also think it would be so cute to have them hang around my house where the sun hits.

Ahhh, dreams and aspirations...

Behind-the-scenes from this session soon!
