Short Story Reward - Academy Maid Service: Maid Lyn (Part 1) (Patreon)

Alright, folks....I admit I'm being slightly under-generous. Only a tiny bit, though. Essentially, I'm in pretty bad need of some breathing room, the schedule of releases for various rewards is a bit more brutal than I'd originally hoped when I committed to all of it. I have various plans on addressing that long term, such as the experiment with the comic reward I'm running this month, but at the moment I just REALLY need to buy a bit of breathing space.
Which is where the reward for this month comes in. I mentioned in the last progress report that I was going to pull up a story I'd written under the Jaylee Coglin name in the past as this month's second short. (For those that don't remember/don't know, I and another author co-wrote under that name. Though this particular story was actually 100% mine, with the other individual only offering editing for it). When I actually pulled it out of my archives, though...I realized the thing is actually in excess of 20,000 words long. And actually far better written than I thought it would be, given that it originally was released in 2016 and I've improved since then.
Long story short, I'm splitting the story up into two chunks, around10,000 words each. Given that this is actually double the target size of monthly short stories, I only feel very slight amounts of guilt over doing that. Particularly as this will help buy that breathing space that I desperately need at the moment. Since I'll be releasing the second half next month, I won't be as critically short on time as I seem to always be. Hopefully. And hopefully by August some of the other measures I'm hoping will help will be in place, lowering my stress levels a bit in trying to hit all my reward targets. Also hopefully, you guys will forgive me for the momentary lack of generosity in not just releasing the whole thing at once...
Anyway! Enjoy the Academy Maid Service: Maid Lyn! Who knows, maybe I'll actually write more of the series now that I've pulled it out and did a bit of a tune up on it. I'm actually pretty impressed with how well my past self did with it. It's a lot better than a lot of what I was writing back then...
(P.S.) You'll note a more formal copyright and such than I usually bother with(as well as the fact that the author is Jaylee Coglin. That's simply because this was originally released to Amazon, where it is actually still available. Though I think I only ever sold like, 10 copies, due to lack of ability to actually advertise at the time. See previous bits above about the Jaylee Coglin thing.
