Alright, back to the follow-up game concepts! Now, before I get into the description of this one, a word about the attached renders. These are TESTS of the new assets I've picked up for this possibility...and one of the new assets is being a grumpy little bitch -_-. Specifically, the Water asset doesn't seem to play nicely with Iray renders. Which means I'll either need to render using a different rendering engine (which I don't want to do, Iray is better for everything else) or else see if I can find a decent water asset that works well with Iray. Long story put short: Ignore the horribleness that is the water right now. It would/will be replaced by proper water if this game is chosen!

Haven's Port Concept

------------------------

Background:
You would never have thought, in your wildest dreams, that being attacked by pirates was something you would be deleteriously happy about. Of course, you never would have expected to end up in the hold of a slaver's galley, after a long chain of events you still can't quite wrap your mind around. You hadn't thought your luck could be so bad.

Of course...maybe it wasn't. For the Pirates of Haven's Port aren't ordinary pirates and they've come to your rescue. Which, would be an absurd statement if it was any other group of pirates involved. But the Pirates of Haven's Port aren't actually pirates, so much as they are exiles. Most know their story, wrapped up as it is in the founding of the Empire. The Empire, of course, puts the most positive possible spin on it...but the truth of the matter tends to leak out, at least to the lowborn like yourself.

The Havenites were once a religious order, of sorts.

Dedicated to a Patron Spirit of Love, Lust, and Freedom, The Order of the Wild Rose was among the most populous and popular orders in the Old World, beloved for being healers and blessers of harvests. But that was before the Outsiders came. The first war with the Outsiders forced the goodly races of the world to turn to other, more war-like, patron entities. Ones with the power to help them drive back the darkness. But those patrons were ones of Law and Order, who's Patron Spirits didn't tolerate the chaotic freedom of the Order of the Wild Rose. In the years following the defeat of the Outsiders, they turned their gaze to the chaotic lovers of Freedom in their midst. The Order of the Wild Rose had done too much for the people, for too long, to be assailed outright...but the new Orders could and did nibble at the edges. The focused not on Freedom or Love, but on the Lust the Order of the Rose was known for. Evil, they called it. Impure. Sanctions were placed in towns, limiting the power of the old ways, while charismatic war-heroes and demagogues preached from soapboxes in ever town about the evils of Chaos and Lust.

In the end, after nearly two centuries of decline, The Order of the Wild Rose was reduced in influence so far...that the newly born Empire of Embyril could openly declare them heretics.  And so, they died in the streets, and in their homes, shops, and gathering houses. They might have been wiped out...but for the adventurers. Adventurers were among the most common adherents to the wild ways of the rose, loving wholly, lusting mightily, and valuing their freedom above all else. And so it was that the Empire miscalculated. The army had overwhelming numbers...but those numbers died at a rate of hundreds to one as the adventurers of the realms raised skilled blades and potent magics in defense of those they considered their own.

In the end, the adventurers couldn't win. They couldn't overcome the sheer numbers The Empire could throw at them, disbursed as they were among the many adventurer towns. But...they could buy time. Time for many of The Order of the Wild Rose to flee to the sea. And thus, the freeport of Haven was born.  Home to too many powerful mages and fighters, the survivors of the old mage and adventurer guilds, Haven's Port is utterly unassailable by The Empire...but it's cut off from the outside world. And thus the Pirates of Haven's Port came to be. They raid up and down the coast of The Empire, usually against the Empire's official shipping...but they make a special target of Slavers. Slavery quickly became legal among the order-minded rulers of the Empire. Debt slaves, or slaves made of those who commit even the most minor of crimes. As slavery is utterly abhorrent to those of the Wild Rose...slave galleys are targeted whenever they are spotted.

And now, as if your luck was begging your forgiveness, they are attacking the slaver ship your misfortune landed you on...

Gameplay:

The protagonist (gender to be determined by patron poll!) finds themselves given a new start among the people of Haven's Port. But...these people are virtually all followers of the Way of the Wild Rose. Sex and sexuality, a nearly taboo subject on the mainland where the protagonist grew up, is an open thing here. It's not uncommon to see a woman strolling the street in nothing but jewelry, you can rent petgirls for a day, sex shops are on every corner and misdemeanors might see you punished by an hour in the stocks as a free use toy. New to Haven's Port, you'll have to adjust to this radical change in environments, since you can never go back to the empire. You'll need to find work, a more permeant place to live than the inn, and figure out just what sort of life you want to live!

This game will/would have a somewhat similar setup to games like Chastity Quest or Eros Academy, though unlike Chastity Quest, the vast majority of it's content will/would take place in the single area of Haven's Port, with new builds simply adding progressively more options to explore. New jobs, new kinks, different places to visit elsewhere on the island (or on neighboring islands). Very much a free-exploration game, there won't be a lot of main plot, though there will be plenty of content to work toward unlocking. Working up from being a rescued ex-slave to being a prominent member of the town, with access to more elite facilities and entertainments...

Assets/Game Engine/Art:

As seen with the renders attached to this post, I've already acquired the most basic assets for the town of Haven's Port itself. This game would be rendered in Daz3D, with as unique an environment and characters as I can manage. It will also, however, be done in TWINE so that it can be played on any PC/MAC easily like The Dungeon of Lewdity, without adding majorly to my programming headaches. Having taken a long look at the options, I've fairly certain I can manage the game as envisioned via TWINE. Renders would, for the record, be done in at least 2k. The attached images were rendered at 4k, as it happens, though I'm not sure the actual assets have 4k compatible textures. I haven't tried rendering them at 2k yet to see if there is any difference...
