A couple of times I've gotten comments pointing out that I've never addressed the idea that Casey and Sylvia take zero issue with indulging in such a huge taboo by being intimate with each other. Royce pointed it out once and Sylvia brushed him off like he was bringing up something trivial, even though it should be obvious to anyone that mothers and daughters shouldn't behave this way. So What gives?

My response as the writer is that to me, Switch takes place in a porn world and isn't meant to be a perfect reflection of reality. The body proportions and fluids are certainly exaggerated, so for me it makes sense that the content and story would be a bit extreme as well.  People in this world are a lot more likely to have sex with people they shouldn't.

But one thing I haven't addressed is how their relationship fits into the story itself. For example, in this page Casey isn't really talking to Sylvia like a daughter would address a mom. And that's because she doesn't really see Sylvia that way. Right now she just sees her as a beautiful woman she's always wanted to have sex with.  

So why the emotional detachment between them? Well I don't want to give away everything here but it has a lot to do with Casey never forming a strong connection with Sylvia, and Sylvia being too self-absorbed to really notice. They've only recently discovered common ground in the idea that they are both perverts, and their new relationship is starting to form.
