In episode three, Percy chooses Annabeth and Grover to accompany him on his quest. The fate of Thalia is revealed to us. The three of them encounter several obstacles, including furies and the legendary Gorgon Medusa. However, their shared loyalty and wisdom serve to protect them.

Overall, it’s a fascinating, thrilling, and entertaining episode. The story keeps us engrossed from start to finish, owing to the appearances of gods and other mythological beings from Greek mythology. On top of that, the plot is riveting and adventurous. The woman who played Medusa was great in this episode.

Medusa was played by Jessica Parker Kennedy, she’s great in this and awesome in Black Sails. You guys should check it out. Another Black Sails actor pops up in Percy as well.

Finally, been refreshing Patreon for the last 2 hours. I am very impatient lol But I just finished eating so perfect timing. Medusa is played by Jessica Parker Kennedy. She's awesome! I know her from The Flash.

Jenna

So excited to sit down with this when I get home! Thank you!

Jack's World

My only main critique of the series by the end is the length of some of the episodes were a bit too short for me 😢. But I get it tbf, the little documentary they did would be a great reaction after you conclude Season 1! It reminds me of the 20 year anniversary for HP in a way because the books have been around nearly 20 years now 🤯

Curtis Rice

Totally forgot this was coming out today, great surprise.

Kyra Brown

Yayy can't wait to watch you guys reaction to this awesome little series really enjoying it 😍

Guys, hope you will think about playing the Borderlands game series 4 player coop, you can skip the first 😅.. The movie drops august 9, would be awesome if you played Borderlands 2/3 before the movie comes out 🤞

Jack's World

I believe that the turning to stone only happens when the snakes are out & about & her eyes are full on visible

Jack's World

This was the first series I read solo after Potter as they were releasing. Potter was read to my by my dad because I was born in ‘96 lol but these started releasing around 2004/2005

EverShy

Yes, the behind the scenes documentary is awesome! I was in tears by the end.

John F.

As someone who has read and loved the books, I love this adaptation so far.

EverShy

Totally agree with you. The few issues I have with the series is caused by the short runtime. The documentary is called "A Hero's Journey: The Making of Percy Jackson and The Olympians" and you should definitely watch it after episode 8! It's available on Disney+ for me.

Mallika Anand

I'm not sure about the snake part, but it would definitely make sense in terms of the eyes since the lore is you would have to look directly at her to turn to stone. I imagine she wears the veil to seem more welcoming. or at least not as scary, but it makes sense to still look away or cover your eyes just to be safe 😅

Kelsey Roberts

Another Aquaman joke. At this point it's kind of sad that you can't think of a better joke.

Brittany McGee

This story is similar to Potter in that the first book (or first season in this case) is geared towards a younger audience and grows in maturity with each book as Percy and etc. get older.

Please for the next poll put Love Aaj Kal (2009) it's an Imtiaz Ali film and it stars Saif Ali Khan & Deepika Padukone, you guys would love the story and songs. please if you guys get the chance please watch it.

I'm just so excited for you guys to see the rest of the season. I'm really enjoying your reactions to the series. The next episode might be the shortest but its definitely one of my fave ones of the first half of the season. The first two episodes were kinda more like an introduction to the world and the main journey starts with the 3rd one and its really fun to see where they started and where its gonna go by the end of ep8 and the growth. Also its so interesting to see different perspectives during the encounter with Medusa and how exactly she wanted to appear. Having all these monster statues outside in the plain sight and then having all these human victims being hidden under. It was an interesting touch as well. Another fun fact about how Percy was standing when he used Medusas head to get rid of the fury outside. His pose is kinda the same as Perseus' pose (his statue back in the MET for example). Its really fascinating when u know that Percy was named after Perseus just bc Perseus was on of the few demigods who got his happy ending in greek mythology. I love these details. (Also during the bus scene Percy technically couldn't go with Annabeth to the store if he wanted bc its easier for monsters to smell more powerful demigod(child of the big three) and the bad smell beside their sits was kinda covering Percy's smell itself which Annabeth did say "monsters cant smell u through that" so thats where she wanted him to stay).

It was stated earlier in the episode that quests are usually taken on by groups of three. In the books they go into more detail about why but that might be a spoiler for the upcoming seasons.

Fun fact, the titles are the names of the chapters from the book :) Its such a small detail but it made me so happy lol

Jenna

same!! i love it, especially because rick’s titles are so fun hahaha

So glad you guys are liking it! It honestly just gets better with each episode, I really have no complains except like everyone else has said, I wish they were longer. But for a first season it's really good! Can't wait for more!!

Brian Clancy

Really hope yall plan to do the whole series, my favorite book series growing up slightly over Harry Potter.

I still feel like the story and world building are rather simplistic but nevertheless it's entertaining and enjoyable to watch! I think you guys should consider watching Sweet Tooth and Locke & Key, both on Netflix, 3 seasons each (Sweet Tooth S03 is upcoming). Sweet Tooth is fantasy/scifi/post apocalyptic as well as Young Adult/kids on a mission and it's not only good but also truly original. Locke & Key is fantasy/horror, YA too, based on comics, and has a unique worldbuilding too. I'm sure you guys would love these!
