Double AOT drop? Lets goo

Zen Reacts

Anyone else getting an error when trying to play the sub version on hulu

J Knight

When I say I JUMPED with joy when I saw this

Dxxgo99

I promise all of your questions will be answered in a satisfying way throughout the show! Really excited for this series and to experience it again with you guys.

Slick447

I started this show years ago when there were only 2 seasons. Life got in the way and I never finished it. Can't wait to go on this journey with you guys. From what I remember, strap in boys, it's going to get wild!

wanira 11

these guys have no idea what's coming and i'm absolutely loving it. This is going to be a wild ride :D

OBBlade

The guys about to learn that just because its animated, doesnt make it a kids show.

Ashtail Foxclaw

Oooh ho ho ho! I can't wait for y'all to get freaking floored. Keep up throwing out your theories, write them down and see how they change throughout the show. All your questions will be answered in due time.

Oulianor Timothee

Tbh I couldn't get through Invincible because of the gore, but I did finish this show just out of the sheer curiosity, its like you have to see what happens next. Watching episode one after all these years was still unnerving. It's a ride fellas I don't know if the other shows you have watched compare to this the comments can let me know but this show is gripping and it doesn't let go whether things look up or it's abysmal just buckle up and get ready for what's coming up next...wait, except you'll never guess what happens next that's AOT.

Conor Moriarty

I think you guys will really appreciate the writing and thought behind everything. The soundtrack is also really good @diamondave

Oulianor Timothee

Yea this is DEFINITELY not a kids show, but apparently kids watch this. As an adult I had a hard time getting through this and action shows and movies are my favorite, until this, and I learned I don't want this much action.

Ashtail Foxclaw

Also just because, I'll copy-paste the "The Information we can share so far" from ep 1 and 2 EP1 **About the Walls (1):** Humanity lives within three walls. The outermost is Wall Maria The second, Wall Rose The innermost is Wall Sina. **About the Walls (2):** Distance between each is roughly the same. 100km separate Maria and Rose. 130km separate Rose and Sina. From Sina to the center is about 250km EP2 **Rough Diagram of Human Territory (1):** Diagram (see original work) broadly depicts area still inhabited by humans. Area outside Wall Maria remains a mystery. **Rough Diagram of Human Territory (2):** Elevation increases with relative proximity to the center of human territory. Territory is rich in natural resources, such as water, minerals, and natural gas. ((These translations were grabbed off Crunchyroll))

Zara Abenemi

Don't worry, most of the questions you have will be answered 😂some of them, maybe not this season but rest assured they will be answered! loved this reaction, looking forward to more.

Sydney

im literally so excited. This is the most detailed story I've ever seen. Most important things are pay attention to everything and DONT GET SPOILED!!!!

Joydan Bri’an

I love that you guys are having theories already lol. Can't wait to see what you guys think in future episodes!

Ivan Rasmussen

You guys are going to have A LOT of questions. I know I did and you have to be VERY patient, but they will be answered. Promise haha Also maybe do a poll for SUB vs DUB. Sub is great but just don't want you guys to miss stuff and this is a show you cannot miss things. Everything is important

Marco Gutierrez

I also second the poll idea, although I know that so many anime fans are weebs and won't tolerate the notion of listening to a dub vs the sub so sub is going to win.

Trigon

I second dub too, hopefully they do a poll 🤞

Marco Gutierrez

As others have said, it takes a bit but the show truly does answer all of your questions, and it answers them exactly when you need them so that you can understand what's going on. It's a wonderful journey that the author takes us on and I recommend just enjoying the ride. As for the language issue, I'd just say listen to it however you want. There's just as much passion in an English voice actor's performance as there is in a Japanese VA's performance, if not more so. I find Tha Japanese voice acting never matches what a character would actually sound like, and it's also much more bombastic than it needs to be. There's a lot of times when true anger and rage is quiet, not loud, and that's something that you never see in Japanese voice acting. Their philosophy is the louder you are, the more emotion you have, and that can ruin many scenes in my opinion. If anything, I'd say try out a few episodes of each and see which one you like best.

Joydan Bri’an

this is the most divided i’ve seen on the sub vs dub for aot for some reason ??? most youtubers watch the sub and have no issues with keeping up. i think you guys are doing great so far with the sub

Veronica

The music in this show is absolutely incredible. I think ya'll just found your new workout playlists and playlists to cry to.

Ron C

So here are a few ground rules while watching the show: - Almost every piece of information could make sense story wise, there are no bad questions to ask - You may have many MANY theories along the way, don't hesitate to entertain and discuss them ! - You will also probably miss some important information here and there, I don't think it's bad, but be prepared to have the whole picture of this universe come in slowly. Sometimes you might get answers for some questions, followed by even bigger questions, but that's how the show goes. - I really hope the Badd Medicine community will be helpful and forgiving enough, and help in a non-spoilery kind of way - This is probably the show that will require the most analysis from you compared to anything you ever watched until then. There are setup/payoffs everywhere. Again, don't hesitate to discuss it (and I'm sure we'll all be glad to listen to your thought processes too :p) - All the answers will come in due time eventually. All of them. This show has been almost perfectly anticipated by the author from the very first episode on. - The mid-credits information will most of the time carry too much information to just read them along the episode, so don't hesitate to come back to them afterwards. - Some people might not be kind to you based on various judgements and opinions you could make along the way. They might also judge for for not picking up on (what they consider) "obvious clues" while not realizing you're just trying to be entertained by a show and not figuring out the Zodiac murders plot by every angle possible. The AoT community is very (too much sometimes?) passioned about this show, be prepared to face them and own up to your (I'm sure very valid) opinions ! - You will get some advice from the community about certain opening credits to not-watch (or post-credit scenes to watch or not, I'm pretty sure you'll throw a poll to settle whether or not you should watch this or that, that's part of the experience). Finally : Just enjoy the ride I guess =) this is a fantastic anime. If anyone has anything else to add to this don't hesitate to add them below.

Magda Ch

Very well explained! :D And I think there will be episodes that are better to watch 3 episodes in a row

Alex

"I have a lot of questions" You will have them even more every episode don't worry!!

Megan

I am all for whichever method is easiest for you to follow along with. I personally love both subbed and dubbed in general and if you aren't used to watching subbed shows, then you will miss a lot because you are trying to switch from reading and watching what is happening. Just choose whichever works best for you because it is you guys who are reacting to it and it is important to pay attention. And just a heads up, when it shows the pictures/graphics it is giving information on the layout, weapons, etc. In the first episode, it was the layout of the villages within the wall and how it was all set up for safety. Like others have said, the show will answer your questions...it just takes a while to do so.

Megan

Thank you! I remember when I first watched this show almost a decade ago, I had to keep going back to fully understand the diagrams. This will definitely be helpful for those new to the show.

Arudorin

Hold onto your butts, AoT will be a wild ride. Season 1 will start off slow, so be prepared. All your questions will be answered throughout the episodes.

Laci

maybe you guys should try dub to see if you like it more.

Wulfbaine

Honestly I really wish you guys started to watch this Dubbed. Alot of the people who swear by ONLY watching SUBS for anime are super die hard anime people. The DUB for AOT is incredible, probably the best english dubs in all of anime. I think it will be SIGNIFICANTLY more enjoyable for you guys to watch it in english dub. That way you also wont miss significant parts of the show because you are too busy reading subtitles. This is an area where I think there have been too many die hard anime fans (who will ONLY watch anime subbed) that have convinced you guys, but I dont think they are quite thinking of YOUR enjoyment and what is best for you guys and the channel. Even so, very excited to see the reactions

Wulfbaine

Yeah i think the guys have been convinced by the overwhelming SUB ONLY anime people which is sad. Those people arnt thinking about whats best for the guys, only about how THEY think anime MUST be watched.

Ashley

I wouldn't say that. A lot of times things get missed in translating from Japanese to English. I've seen entire sentences in manga/anime get translated in ways that cause them to lose the original meaning. Not to mention the misspelling or changing of names or characteristics or relationships because of how western media censors things. Like how in Sailor Moon they changed two characters who were dating into being cousins in the english dub because of how phobic the world was in the early 00s. The dub is good, and there are certainly a lot of shows where I prefer the dub for some reason or another, but I find a lot of time the dub gets far too shout-y in AOT. Like the VA for Eren thought he always had to scream everything when that wasn't the case.

MynamecouldB

I agree with you. To me the Dub is the better choice for the casual viewer.

Joydan Bri’an

like idk if i’m mistaken but majority of aot fans did not like the dub, especially for the first season because a lot of info got cut or mistranslated. i know everyone is excited but they chose the sub and they like it so far. we should just believe they’ll be able to keep up with the info. (lmaoo sorry for the rant)

Ana

I agree with this comment I hope the switch to dub.

Ana

If they do a poll the sub elitist will win 😩

Wulfbaine

the boys will get far more out of a dub watching than what they MAY potentially miss by having slightly different translations. I think you are viewing this from too narrow a view, and are more focussed on how you enjoy anime an not considering what may be best for the channel or their viewing experience. Differences in translations of sailor moon or other anime have no bearing on the fact that AOT's dub is incredibly good, and more suitable for people who don't watch films in other languages. Personal tastes in how shouty a voice actor is well, personal taste. I could make the very same argument for the Japanese VA for Armin. This also speaks to the experience you have with subbed anime. I doubt they will know or care that a particular character is more or less shouty in their voice acting compared to the subbed, and I don't think something like that has any relevance to the story, or their enjoyment of watching the show. The dubs are fantastic, as are 99% of dubs for any anime of a decent following. They are professional voice actors for a reason. SUB ONLY purism is not the best thing for bringing people into anime in my opinion.

Wulfbaine

yeah I think a poll will skew far towards sub purists as well, especially for AOT, despite the dub being fantastic. It's frustrating as well because the sub purists are so incredibly unmoving in their beliefs that anime can't be watched in anything but Japanese, and aren't thinking about what would be best for the boys. Just a black and white "dubs are the worst, sub only" mentally forgetting that they've spent the last 15 years only watching subbed anime, and badd medicine have watched zero minutes of anime. I originally watched aot subbed as well, so it's not like I personally don't like subs. I actually think the subs are a better version, but it's not what's best for the channel and the guys.

Isaiah jaramillo

Not everyone has problems reading, these guys have watched subbed shows and movies with no problems.Im sure that after reading things for 30 plus years, they can read and watch at the same time.

Faryn

SO excited for this series! I'm super curious how you guys will delve into concepts as it unfolds. Echoing Jon C- I often have your reactions on while working so sub will eliminate that option some some viewers. I get arguments for both versions (I've seen and like both), however as a reaction channel with multiple people, I think switching to dub may be smart. That way you can enjoy the visuals and look at each other and talk occasionally like you do in all other reactions, without missing key points. There's a lot to absorb in this series- it's definitely not a casual watch. But regardless I'm very much looking forward to this journey. Thank you for choosing to watch AoT!!

Jiggs

Stick with subs, a lot gets lost in translation and it’s a way to pay respect to the original work of the author and creator. This is one of the most complex and well written shows where every scene and dialogue WILL be coming into play. So try and pay attention to as much as you can. It’s another reason why subs is preferred, so that you get the full picture of what the author intended to convey per scene. Along with, as Oak mentioned, the phenomenal voice acting by the original Japanese cast.

Jiggs

Also, something completely different from what you guys usually do but there is a small live composition of some major songs from this show called Hiroyuki Sawano Project Emu Attack on Titan Suite. There’s no spoilers just a phenomenal live performance prepare you for the vibes of the show!

Joel

This is my all time favorite show ever, and my go to for introducing people to anime! It's like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, GOATED levels of good. Respectfully, you guys should binge it quicker than usual and in exchange I'm gonna stay subscribed for all 4 seasons!!

Ana

Omg this is the perfect comment. Cuz I just watched the first episode reaction and they couldn't engage with each other like they usually do

DustinEatWorld

The dub is good but especially Erin’s voice actor can’t compare to the original.

Scott Bringel

Oak is always on the nail with “just pause, and take it slow”. I couldn’t agree more as this show is probably the most complex show I’ve ever seen. Do rewatches for sure.

Adrianna Marie Aka AD

I haven't been doing anime for a while aside from what I grew up watching. This was surprisingly awesome!! I thought I'd watch along just to see what the hype was and I was not disappointed. I'm here for all of this one!!

Angie H.

okay, i left a comment on the previous ep saying how much i love that y'all are watching the sub (and also about the architecture and race of the world but i digress), but i COMPLETELY understand if switching to dub is something y'all wanna do instead 👀 this story is very heavy on the info and it's your first anime too.. i just want you guys to get the most out of this experience 🫶🏼 i will defend your decision, whatever it may be, against all the die hard weirdos because this IS my favorite anime too (well, this and jjk.. and ohshc hehe)

Verity

I agree, I think they should pick whichever one they feel most comfortable with 😁. Especially since I'm sure doing a reaction is a bit different from a normal viewing, where you can just pause and go back to check if you missed anything 😁

Alex

Also if you are more keen on dub then go for it, I'm a sub person but the english dub has its moments too. Reading the subs isn't hard, I'm aware, but when you are watching in the group, comment and take notes that's when its starts to get troubling lmao. Ultimately its should be your decision not the people who watch you, so do not feel pressured to do anything:)

Verity

I love reading and books, but I don't always like subs, especially if I'm watching a film with quick editing and I want to focus on the visuals and the actors' expressions. Being slightly slower at reading doesn't make people stupid 😁

Surya

As first time anime viewers one punch man with its short 12 episodes is pretty hard to beat out. The concern with AOT is the burn out, especially with the extremely controversial way the author decided to wrap things up in the final season. I know many people that stopped watching because of that decision, tbh I probably would've stopped watching too if I was in any way invested into the story at that point

Garrett Gee

Curious, I thought the ending was fine.... Felt that it went the way it needed it since the beginning. What was controversial about it, I can understand not wanting it to end that way but the signs were there for sure.

Kaitlyn Twix

Great video! I'm sooo excited to see your reactions to this show!!!

Brady Renfro

Same boat here, haven't watched any anime since like Toonami days in the mid 2000s as a kid. But this was awesome! Not what I expected.

Surya

Discussing it would be spoilers, but thats exactly why it was controversial, a significant part of the fanbase were so turned off by the finale writing that they stopped watching altogether. You can't ever find a discussion about whether or not AOT is a masterpiece without someone interjecting and saying it cannot be a masterpiece due to its ending... and they wouldn't be wrong. Same goes for Naruto, I guess. That's why one punch man S1 is a much safer pick, not only because its much shorter.

Scott Bringel

Complex doesn’t mean hard to figure out, just that it has many layers. And it’s true. No other show comes close to reaching the complexity of human duality and moral reasoning imo.

Faryn

I would suggest refraining from mentioning this kind of stuff in comments and let the guys discover it organically. It feels almost spoiler-ish to talk about the ending already when they're on ep 2. I know you didn't mention anything specific, but comments like this can start to change their opinions this early. Please let them just watch it and form their own opinions as it goes like most of us got to.

Slick447

I'm confused by your comment Surya. "part of the fanbase were so turned off by the finale writing that they stopped watching altogether" Is that not when everyone stops watching a show, when it's over? Also, tons of people say the end of Game of Thrones ruins the show. Regardless of how you feel about that ending, I would never tell someone to not watch the show because of it.

Gabriel P.

Based on personal experience, I would have to disagree. I tried watching One Punch Man first as my introduction to anime. I couldn’t finish it. It contained so much of the anime tropes that some people may not like (myself included). Aot is a lot more tame when it comes to that. The first few episodes of OPM werent as interesting and impactful (to me) as Aot’s first few episodes. I’m not saying OPM is bad, but imo Aot is a friendlier first anime for casual viewers…ignoring some of the creepy titan designs.

Eric Wallace

Id advice after the episodd ends, to go back and read the 2 bumpers paused

Slick447

Great point Gabriel. I enjoyed OPM on first viewing, but that's because of exactly what you described. It played on a lot of tropes and subverted my expectations. From a film standpoint, AoT is much better at setting up a more traditional-themed story for the average viewer.

Slick447

I hope you're right Scott! I haven't seen all of the show, but from the first 2 seasons, I wouldn't necessarily call it complex. It's compelling for sure, but I'd consider season 1 of Westworld or True Detective to be a more 'complex' show. Or something like Maniac.

Scott Bringel

So believe me, you’ve only seen about five percent of the show until you finally get to the Yeager’s basement:)

blitzman08

Stick with sub

Calcifer

I guarantee the Guys had NO idea how compassionate the anime community is about this series lol. But it's so cool to see! So many people coming forward out of excitement to talk about this series! And rightfully so! I am absolutely FLOORED you guys are watching this!

Ashtail Foxclaw

Maybe it's because most of their fan base is American or natively English? As a non native English speaker, I prefer the sub as I have subtitles on regardless of language. I think the dub is OK but I don't think its as good as Sub. I'm personally more worried about them using Hulu as I don't have access to that (only for Americans)

Joydan Bri’an

idk if that could be a reason either to be honest. majority of the youtubers i watch have american or english speaking watchers and they all prefer sub. the only youtubers I’ve seen watch dub is blind wave and the normies and even their watchers get annoyed when they choose a dub. lol i’m just curious as to what’s different here

Ashtail Foxclaw

These groups do watch anime though, and Badd Medicine is new to this section of TV experiences, so their fanbase is likely not hardcore anime watchers. I haven't spotted any hardcore anime fans or "weebs" among the comments (granted I could just be willfully blind to it) Reading subs is a skill you need to train as much as anything else. So if their fan base are mostly movie enjoyers who don't NEED subtitles, I see that being a driving force to choose the dub - Not sure I'm articulating my thoughts correctly. I also think a lot of the "You're gonna miss things if you need to read subs" comse from people who's seen the show and will notice all the little details of a 2nd watch. There's details hidden in every scene that no first-time watchers are going to catch.

Joydan Bri’an

okay I see your point. I don’t mind them switching to dub if they have issues. We don’t know what they watch in their free time, so they could be familiar with foreign shows and reading subtitles. I guess it kind of bothered me that the commentators automatically assumed they would have trouble. They seem to like the sub so far though

Ashtail Foxclaw

I don't think Badd Medicine will struggle at all, I think they pretty muched got everything they needed with very minor things confused. They'll get used to subs pretty fast if they arent already. But their audience seem to struggle with it more. I don't mind either way. 1) because I'll align a sub version, 2) I need subtitles regardless of language due to minor hearing issues.

Ashtail Foxclaw

I don't necessarily agree, but that is why I think they should watch ep 3 and 4 in dub and then pick from there. I 100% prefer sub.

Skellyp

Any chance you could unblur the bottom part of the video so it’s possible to read the subtitles? That would be amazing if you can, but if not, no worries.

Chrisiyyi

if you have questions now, you will have so many more, but dont worry every question you get will get answered, this is a series that if you watch it a 2nd time you will see alot of foreshadowing through all the seasons on why things happen.

Chrisiyyi

dub has many flaws, specially some voices, they seem to like sub and seem to not lose alot of the episode, also they watch with 4 people so they can fill each other in as well, i think sub is completely fine for them to watch.

Marco Gutierrez

That's a matter of opinion. Every voice that I heard in the English dub sounds natural, but I can't say the same for the Japanese dub. Armin literally sounds like a little girl. That's a teenage boy and then eventually a fully grown man but he sounds like an 8 year old girl, and why? Because the Japanese voice acting philosophy is "if a character is happy or positive or hopeful, then they have to have a high pitched an energetic voice." It happens constantly thoughout anime.

Bee P

I am quite conflicted about your situation. Generally, anime is preferred with subtitles, but AOT might be an exception, especially if you are not accustomed to watching anime with subtitles. The show is information-heavy, which is what makes the story so compelling. If you miss the subtitles, you might miss out on a lot of important details. However, as you mentioned, the original soundtrack conveys more passion and evokes strong emotions. I don't think anyone will judge you for your choice. My suggestion is to do what is best for you and your viewing experience. On a side note, I recommend pausing when the random information sheets appear. Initially, some of them may seem random, but they provide insights into the politics behind many aspects of the show. If it helps, here is a website that contains all the information sheets for different seasons. Each block corresponds to an episode, so you can read the one for your episode before or after watching it as well. Hope this help, you guy are in for a ride! https://attackontitan.fandom.com/wiki/Current_Publicly_Available_Information/Anime

Daaylen Watson

With a show like this, I recommend pausing if something gets complicated. The dub vs. sub argument is always tough, But I really think the sub is just so good. Attack on titan will always bring more and more questions no matter the season.

Elizabeth Green

Can yall watch these x4 instead? Since that would be about an hour 20 mins which is less than a movie reaction? I’m just curious 😊. Of course only if time permits between y’all’s others endeavors, jobs, families, etc. I’m being a bit greedy please don’t judge! 😆

DustinEatWorld

My finance and I just watched Season 4 Part 2 again and holy cow does the opening spoiler a lot. It’s like a trailer these days. So I hope you avoid them later😭😅

JJ

Good idea hopefully they could do this

Kel

“I’ve got a lot of questions.” That should totally be the tagline for this entire show. 😂 One thing this story does do is tackle all those serious and hard questions. It really makes you think. I love listening to you all discuss and debate afterward, can’t wait for more!

Fedei

Pretty sure you guys are wrestling fans so just wanted to let you know that the design of the Titan that broke through the wall, the smaller one not the big one, was based off Brock Lesnar, a little fun fact.

amberrr

then you can’t judge it on being complex. because this show definitely is. characters, stories, character connections, etc. they’re all complex and have many layers.

sarah

i just paid for this and it's blurred..

Badd Medicine

Yes. It's mentioned in the tier you paid for. In the description and in the beginning of the video. I highly encourage you to look into copyright laws. You'll see without rights or ownership, it's illegal to broadcast.

brendan mcnally

Watching this anime for the first time with u guys and its so fun Thanks for the great content brothers
