Underworld Awakening brings back the intense and stylish world of vampires and werewolves, but this time with a new twist. Kate Beckinsale is back as Selene, the vampire Death Dealer, who awakens from a long cryogenic sleep to find a world where humans have discovered the existence of both vampire and Lycan clans, leading to a brutal war to eradicate them.

The film excels in its action sequences, delivering some good fights and gun battles that showcase Selene's lethal skills. The special effects are improved, particularly in depicting the transformation of Lycans and the high-speed chases through a dark, dystopian city.

Beckinsale's return as Selene is a major highlight; she embodies the character's ferocity and determination effortlessly. The introduction of a young hybrid vampire-lycan girl adds an intriguing dynamic to the story, and their bond provides an emotional core amid the chaos. The action and visuals shine, a little nitpick here, the plot feels somewhat formulaic, relying on familiar themes of survival and vengeance. Still a fun movie and good to see Kate Beckinsale back as Selene.
