Man I had the biggest crush on Kate Beckinsale when this movie came out. Im surprised I dont see this movie pop up on more channels

I was a BIG fan of this movie when it came out, I even have it and "Underworld: Evolution" on DVD. Oak ain't wrong about the budget, but one of the things that charmed me back then and still impresses me is how much practical effects they used when they realized that their CGI wasn't working. You mentioned how Lucian running after the car looked better than the "Twilight" running, and that's because that was PRACTICAL. They had the car dragging a long running pad behind it, so while it drove Michael Sheen was ACTUALLY running behind it and catching up to it. A lot of their Giant Leaps and such were also practical wirework instead of CGI. I enjoy "Evolution" as well, but I'm one of the ones who says it stops being watchable after that. I've seen a few more, and they're not the Worst Films Ever, but it loses any charm/style and becomes generic and forgettable.

I didn’t really know who played Lucien until much later but I thought he did a great job and I loved his part of the story. When Good Omens came out I thought “wait. What? That’s the same actor?” So he does have a lot of range. The Underworld series is one of our favourite guilty pleasures.

So this is just me speculating, because imho werewolves ALWAYS look like trash in movies. ... I heard that on Game of Thrones they wrote in the direwolves so infrequently because they are insanely hard and expensive to cgi. It takes forever to do wolves right because of the complexity of CGI'ing fur/hair. If you don't go big budget and spend a ton of time on it, they look very fake. Maybe that's why in this film's era of new cgi it was near impossible to do a good job (unless you used real wolves) But again, I honestly have no clue why all werewolves in movies look so bad, just a guess.

I don’t know if any of you picked it up but the guy who plays Viktor played the Minister of Magic in Harry Potter. He was the one who gave out the items left by Dumbledore to the trio.
