She was saved from her fate by the Wilkins family, who raised her as their own. The episode portrays her journey to becoming a superhero, despite the challenges of being different and the violence she encounters. Though urged to hide her abilities, she is determined to use her powerful gift to help people. 

This crew has done such an amazing job of getting one invested into these characters. Again, great stand alone episode to get more back story on Eve.
