Oak spoiling the reveal, automatic jail sir 😗 I remember not really liking this movie when I first saw it but it was actually not as bad as I remember. I still remember the third one being bad though haha

Whiskey Hotel

Oak calling Mason Quinn an asshole for not remembering the bad guy from Titanic was hilarious😂

You know, I always remembered the firs tone as a bit of a meta horror comedy movie, but always forget that it was actually pretty well done. And then the same thing happened with this one, in that I forgot it was actually a pretty solid horror movie. I'm glad to get a chance to watch these again with you guys. I think I might have seen the third one, or it might have been scream 4, but either way I'm looking forward to the rest of the franchise.

And there goes my hope that you're gonna watch Justified one day, since you all seem to have already seen it.😭😭😭

This one was my favourite of the franchise for a long time, but now Scream 6 is my favourite. And unpopular opinion, I always liked the next one - Scream 3. I don't know why so many people hate it. 😅

(Long-ish comment warning) Highlights of this movie: -David Warner coming in for one scene to essentially just outline the main themes of the movie and doing it in a convincing and seamless way. RIP to a great actor. -Dewey surviving again, which is of course very silly, but completely the right decision for the franchise and a hilarious moment at the end of this one. -As you mentioned, Laurie Metcalf is soo good in this. She brings a grounded believability to her performance to where you could almost empathize with her having lost her family, if not for the fact that there's something in her eyes revealing to you she's not quite exactly stable anymore. This contrasts well to our other Ghostface Olyphant's more hammy, wackier performance (also very good), similar to Billy and Stu's dynamic in the first one, but that aspect of Metcalf's psycho killer performance yet played very straight is something you may sadly find to be lacking in some of the entries going forward. -The Cassandra scenes and general Greek tragedy motif and how it relates to Sidney's story is a great bit of screenwriting and drawing parallels without being obnoxiously overt (in my opinion). You might also notice the beginning and climax both take place in theaters... (I'll leave it to you to ponder about why that might be lol). (Side note, keep your eyes peeled for some continuity regarding Sidney's wardrobe in number 3. Lot of cool/meaningful attention to detail in this series.) Still pretty amazing to me that this movie was made and released only a year apart from the first, especially after the rewrites necessitated by leaks as you guys discussed. Personally, I think the way it all turned out ended up better than the original plot. These first two are my favorites by far, but there's still lots of fun stuff and great ideas to come. Loved the reaction, these movies are so great for these types of videos because of all the fun in guessing the killer with the twists and misdirects, and you guys didn't disappoint.

Y’all should check out Horns if you haven’t seen it already! It’s very underrated but so so good

Loved it! If you think some of this was overkill? You ain't seen nothing yet 🤣 Yep - the 90s were indeed Doc Martin's, LA gear trainers, leather jackets and clunky silver jewelry and big perms and streaks, I unfortunately remember that well too lol but I do hope you end up doing Urban legends and I know what you did last summer, perhaps a few more 90s horror. Even Candyman, The haunting and The Faculty. Its good to go down memory lane, thanks guys :)

It’s got Daniel Radcliffe thee Harry Potter himself!! It’s like a dark comedy horror mystery vibe

I never saw these movies, or other horror classics really, so i absolutely love that now I’ll be able to watch them with your reaction and commentary alongside it!

gosh, watching scream is one of my favorite things. i’m so glad y’all are doing this. ghostface is just such an iconic persona. scream 3 to me is a little on the cheesy side for a killer storyline but still love it. 4 is when it comes into the more “modern” world since it came out years (11) after the third. then obviously 5 and 6 coming out in 2022/2023 are a different feel overall, no 90s nostalgia there haha!

This is such a fun one, I like that every Scream film has a different kind of horror theme, like the first is horror films in general but this one discuses sequels and I won't reveal the other ones until you watch them but they all do. For me Mickey is one of my favorite ghostface killers, I think his motive is so crazy and surprisingly refreshing, he doesn't just want to be famous but have a big trail, which makes sense since when this came out the OJ trial barely just happened and that was huge. But I also thought he was a good mix between Billy and Stu, crazy like Billy but had humor like Stu did but wasn't a rip off either. But also the psychological mind games he put on Sydney was brutal, it was because of his manipulation at the hospital that she started to doubt Derek and she doubts him again at the end because of Mickey. But I'm a huge Timothy Olyphant fan and this was the first movie I saw him in. He's great in a film called Go and he's a villain in that as well. He plays crazy very well. Debbie was a great twist too, even if you suspected her I don't think many would have thought she was Billy's mother. I like the detail that during the entire movie you never see Sydney and Debbie in the same scene, going back you can tell she was keeping her distance from Sydney, she recognized her immediately and it made sense that Gale wouldn't. I was gutted by Randy's death but I do think it's one of the most important out of all the kills. For this movie we needed an emotional death, we didn't really have one yet but also his death does serve a purpose and that's for Gale's character, to me this completely changes her, she no longer cares about the fame. And her character shows growth in the end, when she's about to go on camera like she did in the last movie she completely bails on it to goes with Dewey, not even a second thought. And it's sad too for Randy because he was never the target, Gale was. He just so happened to answer the phone and say bad things about Billy. He was the only one that Debbie killed. Mickey killed everyone else, she wanted to pin all the murders on him.

For me, before seeing Titanic I knew David Warner from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2! lol. He was in a lot of things and even though his scene is short here he was so good. I love the Cassandra theme, still I question if Mickey really was there and wanted to mess with her head or if she was having PTSD and imagined it which is very understandable, everyone is literally "stabbing" her with masks on.
