Here we go folks, the last installment of The Maze Runner. This movie in our opinion was a really good one as well. This one felt like they left the door open at the end there. Maybe someday they will come back with one? This felt like it had everything you would want in a movie. Sad for Newt. Dang that was sad. Everyone did great. Story was good. We honestly can't believe how great these movies were.

What was your reaction on the final film?

Oh my gosh, I hope no one will throw rocks at me but I think I hated this trilogy. Too much action (which removes the stakes for me - you get used to so many brushes with death), too many unanswered questions, and too many illogical things (why the maze in the first movie? To get them stressed out, I get it, but their lives in the Glades wasn't that stressful for them, they had a "great time" all things considered. Anyway, if it weren't for you, I would have DNF-ed this series. I'm glad I watched it because I'm usually a fan of the genre, but not this time! I give the trilogy a 1/5 ! Have a great day :)

Finishing the watchalong for this series now! I forgot how good these were, haven't seen them in quite awhile. Glad you guys enjoyed them so much!

I saw this movie in theaters on its last run of the night. I had read the books previously so I knew what was going to happen. I didn’t hurt any less. I still bawl my eyes out at the ending and with newt 🥺

Haha wanted to give it a little time to get done "processing" out of the way. It may not have HD available yet. But should soon. Hope you enjoy🤙

damn, 4 years after newt's death and letter still makes me emotional... i saw this during the movie premiere with the actors, it was an amazing experience

I haven't read the books. I believe there are more. But they seem to be prequels. So it's most likely there won't be any more movies. I do like the ending but I kinda wish there'd been more movies. Or just like Mason said, a series. I don't know if it's just me but I felt like the romance between Teresa and Thomas wasn't really apparent. I mean, obviously, they cared for each other but we didn't get much to believe they had feelings for each other. Therefore, when she betrayed her friends in the second movie, I just felt annoyed by her. And in this one, her death was somewhat sad but I wasn't really bothered by it? I think her character was the only negative thing in these movies for me, I thought she was lacking a little bit. Other than that, this series is definitely underrated. It's sad that so many people are missing out because the movies weren't really talked about all that much. I'm happy you guys liked them!

This is one of the best movie series hands down. They are very underrated. I didn't see the first 2 in theaters but I waited for the 3rd and it didn't disappoint at all. I cried during Newts death scene and his letter, my husband who's not a crier at all got choked up too. I said this previously but we went to see it twice it theaters which is something we'd never done and haven't done since for any other movie. I'm so happy you guys loved them, and the rewatchability is definitely there, since I've seen these so many times lol. Death cure is my fave of the trilogy. So damn good, and my boy Dylan O'Brien is really amazing. If you guys want some good standalone movies starring him I'd highly recommend "Love and Monsters" and "American Assassin". Can't wait for Narnia, another underrated series, I think you will like them!

Even though they tried to have Teresa redeem herself I still don’t like her because what she did was pointless. If she’d just gone with them instead of calling Wicked she would have found out that Thomas was the cure because Brenda was healed and didn’t crank out. They killed Mary, who was the doctor that actually figured it out. And they had cure since they took Thomas when he was a child.

The characters in the books/movies are named after famous historical figures. Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Galileo, Mother Teresa, Winston Churchill, Benjamin Franklin, Frypan/Siggy is Sigmund Freud, Aristotle and Harriet Tubman. Minho is named after a member of the author’s family.

I always love this detail from the books that’s never touched on time the movies.

You should definitely check out some more of Dylan O’Briens work. As a 43y old single mum I’m hardly his usual fan demographic. I only heard about him for the first time a couple of years ago. It was after a friends 40th, my son was at his dads for the weekend and I was dying of a hangover after getting proper drunk for the first time in years. I was looking for a show that I could have on and get some entertainment out of, but that I wouldn’t enjoy so much that I’d be annoyed if I fell asleep while watching. I landed on teen wolf and it was the perfect choice. Campy teen horror with a touch of soap opera thrown in. I quickly became hooked in the way one does with soapy style shows, simultaneously making fun of how silly it was (whilst also excitedly pressing next episode the second the prompt popped up). I liked Dylan’s character the most, he was the funny side kick and I always got a laugh out of his scenes. Then the second half of season 3 rolled around and suddenly the story got dark and his character got a really interesting arc and his performance absolutely blew me away. Such a talented kid. A natural born actor, he completely embodied the role. After that I basically watched every single thing he’s done and he never disappoints. Love and Monsters is a great movie he’s done on Netflix. Post apocalyptic but very different to maze runner. It reminds me of the family adventure films from my own childhood, the goonies, back to the future, stand by me. One of those movies that truly is a “family movie” I watched it with my 10 year old and my 70 something parents and everyone loved it. It’s a coming of age story where the journey is more important than the destination. I liked him in American assassin but the movie wasn’t really to my taste. I’m not a big spy / action hero kind of movie gal. Just can’t handle watching that level of violence these days. Flashback is one of my fave movies of his but it’s definitely not to everyone’s taste. If you like movies like Requiem for a dream, Donnie Darko and the Butterfly Effect then you’d probably love it but you have to really pay attention or you’ll get completely lost, and you have to enjoy movies that can have multiple interpretations and require you to figure stuff out. I loved it though, I could write a thesis on it.

"Broke his leg" might be an understatment, ha, It ah was a bit more serious than that...considering he almost died...

Amanda P

Same here, I randomly found a movie with him in it and then I binged everything he was in lol. I adore teen wolf and season 3b is the best of it, he's truly such an amazing actor and I'd love to see him in a big movie role as a villain! I describe love and monsters as basically Stiles in the maze runner 😂😅

The books are absolutely amazing. They are my favorite books. There's a huge amount of source material left and was left out. As of writing this a new maze runner book just came out set 72 (I think) years in the future. Newts death kill's me every time man. Love the reaction

Matthew Elsenpeter

The first book is mostly the same to the first movie. The biggest difference is that Thomas and Teresa can talk to each other telepathically. The second and third book are more different than the second and third movies. The cranks are even a bit different in the books. There are two prequel books which are really good and like I said in my other comment that a couple more books are coming out.
