Yes! I called in to work today and now this? Awesome! Let's go!

If you look at the first book at the list of required books for first year students you'll see" Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them by Newt Scamander" as a book Harry has to get. Newts grandson(Rolf Scamander) also ends up marrying Luna Lovegood. One of my favourite parts of the film is that the only time Newt looks at some one directly is when he tells Jacob he's his friend. As for Johnny Depp he's in the next film but was recast for the third. Warner Brothers fired him because of the Amber Heard Allegations against him. So from the 3rrd on it's Mads Mikealson playing Grindlewald.

Chase Gardner

I really do love the fantastic beasts movies can't wait to see your reactions to newt and Jacobs stories and adventure throughout this franchise.

Do you guys do a review video of the Harry Potter audiobooks?

Badd Medicine

We've had a lot of requests for the Oak to do book reviews. He's currently going over a format for a video review. 🤙

Hailey

The Fantastic Beasts book is a short story format book that's in a set (called Hogwarts Library) along with Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard (the book Hermione was gifted in Dumbledore's will).

Brittany Lewandowski

These movies are not based on books, JK did write the screenplays for the movies. The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them book that Newt is writing in the movie is an actual book though, just not the films themselves. There is definitely less lessons in these movies and I think thats partly because all of the kids that grew up with the characters in the HP books/movies are now adults and don't necessarily require a bunch of lessons. And there will be 2 more movies after the third, well at least there's supposed to be a 5 part series.

Ori_gina_lart

Loved the reactions....now i have to wait so long for the next one 😭😂

Few things. The line where Tina mentions "who would marry this guy" and then her own sister falls in love with Jacob is hilarious. But yes, in America it is illegal for wizards and witches to be married to muggles (or no-majs as they call them in America.) but in Britain they can. It's why Newt calls it backwards. It works well for the Ministry so to see Macusa (the American version of the ministry) still have it illegal would seem strange. Like them marrying muggles doesn't ruin the statue of secrecy. Also, hearing about Leta Lestrange you mentioned if that would be Bellatrix's sister. Bellatrix was originally Bellatrix Black, she is only a Lestrange by marriage. Besides, Bellatrix was born in 1951. So after the events of these movies. Leta would maybe be the great aunt or something to Bellatrix's husband.

Lifehouse

You are correct, I see someone else is a scholar and a gentleman that took a broath.

Just finished watching along! Can’t wait for you guys to see the rest!!!! Ugh i literally CANT wait 😂

they really touch a lot on the care of animals and treating creatures/animals fairly and with respect which is really sweet! Depp does of course eventually become replaced due to the whole case that he was involved in recently with his ex. I think one of the main things big fans kind of didn't like with these movies is some of the spell effects because they lacked color and spell names were rarely actually said out loud when cast by characters. Otherwise, they're not bad movies, in my opinion. As for the books, there is no actual like story book for this series of movies, there is only 1 book but it is a book about creatures of the magical world as written by Newt and it is called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (but written by JK Rowling of course), hope that makes sense! Oh also - there is an official test on the wizarding world site to see which Ilvermorny house you are in (the American school) ;)

Bellatrix married into the Lestrange family. Bellatrix is formerly a Black she was the sister of Narcissa (Draco’s mom) and Andromeda (Tonks mom) and she was cousins with Sirius Black. However you will learn a lot about the Lestrange family and specifically Leta in the next fantastic beasts movie.

A.D

Oh yeah and Leta Lestrange in the photo you see in this movie was Zoe Kravitz by the way, another Kravitz haha

L AH

Yeah, Ezra Miller is not the Joker in the new Batman and not in the Eternals, it’s Barry Keoghan haha Ezra is indeed the Flash, and has also been terrorizing the population of Hawaï for a few months now, so I don’t know if he’ll remain as the Flash for much longer 💀 Great reaction guys ! I have never seen the fantastic beasts but one criticism that I heard a lot was that JK Rowling was the only writer for this movie and it shows. The way the dialogue is written and the transitions are a bit awkward and slow. But I enjoyed it overall ! I hope you like the others, I’ve heard they unfortunately get worse plot- and writing-wise

Katherine Rodriguez

Great reaction! My favorite characters are Jacob and Newt, can't wait for you guys to watch the other movies!

Miss_CJ

I love Newt Scamander's character so much. He is so unique, super shy around people, but so confident and understanding of magical creatures. Jacob is a great character too. He is a bit showing how it would feel like to be a muggle discovering magic. It's easy to relate to him. I always get a bit emotional at the end of this movie when he has to forget everything. And that Niffler...omg! It's so hilarious. It's one of those creatures you think 'wow I want one' even though you know you'd instantly regret having it lol.

takfogger

Nicee love the consistency guys! This subscription is more productive than my bills lmao. Too bad I never saw the Pirates of Caribbean movies lol keep up bros! 💪🏻

There was quite a lot of stuff in the newspapers and in the new york one most of it is kinda mundane stuff, as would expect, but I find them to be so fascinating in the world-building aspect tough. A few of my favourite titles from "new york ghost" magazine"No-Maj ingredients and their use in modern-day potion making", "healers demand negotiations over working hours" In the daily prophet that was shown, there was some more "easter egg" kinda things such as "Enraptured says Dumbledore as *transfiguration today's* new columnist" and "Fleamont Potter's hair potion woos American wizards" In the prophet, there's also talk about "sending students home earlier" and "worried security" similar to how people acted when Voldemort was first in power.

I dont know if someone has said it yet, but this are not books, just movies. The books you can find about this are just the movies script. They made that in book format to sell it after the movies. But this story is not based on books. It can be confusing cause there actually is a book called fantastic beast and where to find them, by jk rowling. But that was not a novel but a short guide with the names of the beasts she invented and a few details about each one. It was suposed to be like a hogwarts text book to learn about magical creatures at school, written by a fictional author named newt scamander. The idea for this movies came years later and they used the name of that book and newt's name. But the story is absolutely new and wasnt writen anywhere before the movies. That, imo is why they have been so many inconsistencies later, because theyre not basing the story on anything, so they didnt know exactly where they where going with the story and they are kind of improvising.

Kunzite Blossom

I want a Niffler! I know I would regret it, but I would love him/her unconditionally like Newt does. No matter now much trouble he causes, Newt would never get rid of him

I'm with Oak on this one, I absolutely LOVE this movie! Saw it in the theater and have seen it so many damn times, it never gets old. Love the character Newt, and the way he's portrayed by Eddie Redmane is GREAT! As a Hufflepuff I may be a tad biased, but he's up there as one of my favorites in the whole of the Wizarding World movies 🖤💛 SO glad y'all had so much fun watching this one. Can't wait for The Crimes of Grindlewald reaction..... VERY interested to see what y'all think. Oh and one last little tid bit...... The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them book isn't a story book, but a book that catalogs and details all the magical creatures in the Wizarding World. Oak has or will learn more about Newt and the book he writes when reading Potter (called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, of course 😆😉), it is taught at Hogwarts. So getting a copy of the book in real life is pretty much like you being able to study the book that Harry and the others at Hogwarts studied, and that our new character Newt was the author of 👍🏻My nerdy ass loves it! 🤣

I really enjoyed this movie! I absolutely love Harry Potter but I wasn't sure if anything could match that level so I treated this movie as it's own thing. Removing that pressure let me enjoy it for what it is. The cast was amazing! The creatures were stunning. Jacob and the giggle water was the frickin best! lol. Got to give it to JK for her amazing imagination.

Badd Medicine

Great energy here! 🤘 We are looking forward to the next one. Maybe next time we should triple check about the "books" lol we noticed a few characters in this one that we've seen on some TV shows. Wonder if we'll get that in the next one.

Pratish Lakhani

Loved the reactions as always lads!!! I’m a big fan of this movie for expanding the HP world beyond England. Some of the “fantastic beasts” such as the bowtruckle weren’t shown in the OG movies but were in the books so it was great for people who loved the books to finally see them. In order of the phoenix, Fred and George used to put a Niffler in Umbridge’s office to steal all her stuff

Beau

If you haven't read the HP, books, you really miss a lot about the significance of Gellert Grindewald and the first wizarding war, his connection to Dumbledore, etc. The underlying theme of ALL of the bad guys in the whole HP universe is the obsession with the purity of blood. Voldemort believed that wizards should rule the world and put muggles in their place. They all had "pure-blood mania." There are so many currents that run through the stories that are left out of the films. You miss a LOT of important subtleties by not having the books as a background. Also, due to cancel culture Johnny Depp was replaced by mads mikkelsen

Badd Medicine

Oak is a little ways into the books as you probably heard. Regardless we are looking forward to the next one.

Veronica

LOVED your reaction to this film. I'm excited for you all to get into this franchise. It's so unique for the Harry Potter world and definitely more of an "adult" series, despite the fun animals. Instead of a coming of age story, it focuses a lot on friendship, how relationships change as you age, and finding love. Jacob really helps to ground us in the wizarding world in America, which is a cool approach for us to access this world again that so many of us grew up with now that we are all adults.

2022-08-14 11:00:50 The reason I loved <3this film besides the animals, The Thunderbird and the Occamy (the snake style bird) was the relationship between Jacob and Queenie. I think they are adorable. For me, the 2nd was good, but not as good as the this one. I "like" the character development, even if I dont like the way some had to develop. For me, I just didn't enjoy the latest one. Also Oak, audiobooks count as reading, so you can just say read. :)
