Progress Report (BMO TV v0.3) (Patreon)

Hey everyone,
After I got the new character art last week I got so super excited about the possibilities of BMO TV again, that I spend every day and night working on it.
I completely revamped a lot of the systems. There's now a mood system that dominates a lot of the gameplay. Your stats influence how happy you are in a certain situation, e.g. when wearing female clothes. You can now choose freely what to wear, but it will influence your mood a lot.

Your mood will not only affect how many votes you get but also how prone you are to the other contestant's attacks. Attacks now don't happen whenever you move around the house anymore. Instead, they only happen when you do activities, like swimming, watching TV, etc. These activities are essential for your popularity, which affects how many votes you'll get. When an activity has been tinkered with, you'll get attacked. There is now however a mini-game that gives you the chance to evade those attacks. 

How much time you have for the minigame depends on your mood and your arousal.

There's still a lot of work ahead to make the game work with all those systemic changes and also a lot of dialogs to rewrite because of it. I'm also going to commission the first background replacement today (Living Room) and I'm waiting on the first character art for the fourth contestant, Erica. Before I release the first version I might also replace one more of the arts of the already existing characters just so people can see what direction the game is headed into.

So yeah, while I really wanted to pump out a new version with the new art style immediately, I really think those changes from the ground up are important for the game development to be sustainable in the future. I'm aiming for a release as soon as I get those graphics, which should be about a week or so. I know those timeframes didn't work out with the Twine game, but this game is made in Unity and that is my expertise so I've been really efficient these past days.
