January 2024 Tavern LiveKit Server Keys (Patreon)

Thank you to the new and continued patrons who have subscribed for access to our clustered LiveKit server for use with the LiveKit AVClient for FoundryVTT.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great ending to 2023, and you look forward to new games in the new year.

I apologize for the lack of recent updates. Things have been very busy, both personally and professionally, and I didn't make time to update the Patreon posts. As always, existing keys will remain valid for at least 30 days after a new key is posted, so you never need to worry about a key expiring on you without warning.

There isn't much new to report on the LiveKit front. Since the last significant update of the cluster, things have continued to remain stable. In the coming weeks, I'll test the latest releases from the LiveKit team and update the cluster once I am confident that no significant issues are introduced.

However, on the At the Tavern front, I have some much bigger news to share that I've hinted at previously. I'm happy to announce that we are working on a new Audio / Video related product, Alloy Stream. We are building Alloy to bring stable, full-featured streaming and recording capabilities to everyone. It will provide the ability to host, stream, and record multi-user conferences and game sessions, all with a browser-based solution that will be easy to use while allowing all the configuration needed to make the stream your own. Our goal is to provide this without the need to use a powerful desktop computer and complicated software to record multiple windows from other conferencing solutions.

Alloy is still very much in the development stage, and we aren't ready to show it all off just yet. However, we are ready to begin broader testing of some of our infrastructure. To this end, I've created a Foundry module with (more than) feature parity with the existing LiveKit module, and we'll soon be opening it up for beta testing. As new features are available, we'll continue adding them to the test environment so you can try them out as we build them.
