Greetings Plastic Party! Sorry this song is arriving to you at the literal last minute of June!  (We've also sent out your physical items today as well, thank you for your patience!)

Back in the fall of 2011, when we lived in NYC, and weren't still sure what our sound should be, we experimented quite a bit. Often mixing in chiptune influence with various other genres.  As a kid, Tyson was always obsessed with the Beatles album "The Magical Mystery Tour" mostly because the cover art resembled a children's album. We were toying with the idea of covering the entire first half of the record (all the songs that appeared in the movie by the same name).  In the end we only finished Blue Jay Way.  We had the strange idea of trying to mash up Tax Man, another George song, into Blue Jay Way.  And if the arrangement wasn't weird enough, we brought in our friend Jeremy Kerner to do a far out guitar solo. He's same guy who does the trippy guitar solo in 'Electric Eyes'.  The song starts off with a sample of Blue Jay... a truly menacing sounding bird.  lol.  Enjoy! (The wav file version is attached as well. - This song has never been released or heard by anyone except a select few...

Thank you so very much for your continued support! You are motivating us to keep the momentum of the next album going!

it's sort of sacrilegious to cover the Beatles.. so if you are going to break the rules, you've really got to break them!!! And I mean... it's a weird one, it's a reason why we never released it formally. It's not for everyone! =)

The Fantastic Plastics

side note... a couple of folks have asked us to release the songs as both WAV and MP3 files. As of May, all unreleased songs we put out here on Patreon will be available in both formats with the MP3 identified as such.

I like how Miranda's voice floats around in the background. That is what caught my attention and stuck out. Love it.

Oh hell yeah Beach Party Bingo where is Annette?

Don Mills

Yes, best version of The Bird ever. Pee Wee killed it!

DOOD!!!! The groovy leads starting at 1:22! Far out, man! Truly a departure but I gotta say, I LIKE IT!!!

The Fantastic Plastics

the groovy leads are from our friend Jeremy Kerner. He's the same guy that did the far out guitar solo on Electric Eyes. He's had a few bands over the years. You might google "Solar Wimp Trio" or "Fast Food Revolution" if you want to hear more of his stuff. He's pretty reclusive, so I'm not sure what's all out there in the public domain.

I had this song playing in my car today & I thought a bird was in or near my car. I had the sunroof open, which is panoramic, so a large opening for something to hop right in. Took me a hot minute to figure out it was coming from the song.😆

The Fantastic Plastics

oh no!! We've had the same thing happen with songs that contain police sirens. Sorry to startle. I had considered removing the Blue Jay sample... For such a beautiful bird it certainly has a menacing bird call.

Kelley

My son was in the car as well and was asking what was happening cause of all the sirens in the beginning. Told him it was from the song. I think lowering the volume of the bird would be better than completely removing it as I do like it.
