Greetings Conquerors!

It's been awhile since I've made a post here but fear not, I have been working on the mod for most of that time and in the next few posts I'll go over what I've been up to:

Firstly, a lot of people have been asking about the troop equipment system and how that will work. This'll be handled by a new government position: the Blacksmith!

Troop equipment can be purchased from the blacksmith in tiers of increasing cost of gold and metal. But what about custom armor?

I am pleased to announce that any modded armor or weapon can now be equipped by your troops and you will be able to select each piece of armor or weapons your troops equip so you can mix and match modded armors to provide your own unique flair to your troops.

You can also add variety to your troops since custom armors will be independent of the type of troop you equip. Therefore, you can have your soldiers equip a different custom armor from your archers.

You also can create different outfits based on your troops gender, so that the women and men of a troop type wear different armor(in case you have some armors that only work for one gender).

I haven't decided yet on how the player will purchase the custom armor yet. It's an issue because if I make the custom armor cost more or equal to the highest equipment tier(which is dragonbone) then it wouldn't make sense if someone wanted to use something of the same quality as say, leather armor. On the other side, if I make it cheaper than the highest equipment tier, then the player can just put dragonbone in the custom armor and avoid having to pay for the actual price of the tier. Perhaps I'll just make it free for the WIP release and decide later...

Could you base the cost on the armor value of the item? should keep a relative price to effectiveness ratio.

ConquestOfSkyrim

I was actually considering doing that. It would only be possible for pc though since getting armor values from items requires SKSE

Wow, this is great! That's everything I wanted, tiers.. and different troops, to have soldiers, then guards. Archers, crossbowmen, wow! All of this is nice. Will there be any addition for mages somewhere down the line? Because there are Imperial Mages, and even stormcloak mages in game, just more rare and not seen as often.

ConquestOfSkyrim

Yep! Mages are planned as well. In the future there will be a court mage position for your court and you will be able to recruit mages from them. They'll also allow you to recruit other magical things like undead, spiders, etc.
