We’re at the end of the year which always means things get a bit bumpy as travel and Game of the Year stuff throw curveballs into scheduling. Brad is on the road, so availability and times towards the end of the week might be fluid as we shift into an all East Coast time zone.

Speaking of Game of the Year, I finished Alan Wake II since we recorded part one of our Game of the Year recap (going up on the Patreon this Wed). What a great game, though pretty sure beating it doesn’t affect much from that discussion. Thanks to everyone that tuned into the stream last week of me ALMOST beating it!

We’ll have our usual rollout this week with The Watchcast and Ramblecast, along with a Patron Q&A over on the Discord on Friday (again, people and schedules might shift around for Q&A). We’ll be continuing with CyberPunk and my sick wrist swords on Monday, and we’ll have a Patron’s Choice stream on Thursday so look for a poll in the future. Friday will be our last stream of the year and while the crystal ball is cloudy I’m fairly sure there will be a person, a stream, and… I don’t know… a lighthouse? There are a lot of moving parts this week and I’m a scheduler and calendar person to my very core so even thinking four days ahead right now without clarity and tracing all the fate lines is making my producer nerves jangle. That being said, what I’ve learned over the years is you attempt to control the things that are within your control and you try your best to prepare for the things that aren’t. I guess, what I’m really saying is, apparently, water will find its way into your basement no matter how hard you try so have a mop ready.

The Nextlander Watchcast
For our final Watchcast of 2023, we dig into episodes 4 and 5 from Twin Peaks season 2, and while we don't uncover too many major revelations, we do at least meet a few new faces. Some more welcome than others.

3PM NXL’s Cyberthon 2024
Last week we did some side quests and running around in that open Cyber-World, but this week I think it’s back to pushing the story forward and seeing what this ‘Johnny Silverhand’ is all about.

Vinny dropping those philosophical bombs at the end there.

I hesitate to comment as it's not really an issue, but it is a curiosity at the very least... Why do some Patreon emails seem to truncate now and some don't? This one for me had part of the intro that ended in "Game of the Year reacap (going up on..." and then had a "continue reading" button instead of showing the full post like normal. I feel like I've noticed this off and on recently, did something change about how Patreon does stuff? Did I somehow change something? Is it that I use a particular email client (gmail) that maybe changed something? Anyone know? It's not exactly a "problem" to click continue reading and have it take me here but... odd...
