Alex Hedlund

From what Alex asked during College Football 25 talk, my wife went to Purdue and she has taken me to couple games and I got absorbed into it

When I was in middle school in North Carolina, you had to choose a tribe come March. Be they UNC, Duke or the other lot, you had to choose or be ganged up on by everyone. At the time, Tim Duncan was playing for Wake Forest and he seemed good, so I wore black and gold in March and that was that. After my family left North Carolina for New York, I dropped college sports like a bad habit.

I’m catching up on the podcasts, so I know this is old by now… but I am compelled to leave this here: What Alex said about College football teams and people supporting them is insane to me. Growing up in SEC country you root for the team of your state or family/regional affiliation. Many people don’t have these allegiances because they went to school there, they go to those schools because of those allegiances. I’d wager the majority of college football fans have no relation to the team they root for other than state, regional, or family pride.
