next episode gonna pop off!!

Mambako

Waiting for this wild episode to share this amazing fact : Saitou Keiichirou, the director of this show was also the director of Bocchi the Rock! He did the same amazing directing in episode 8 of both shows, bringing out the title of the show. The English translation of this show was not accurate, the name of this work is “Soso no Furiren”, it just means “Frieren the Slayer”. So it would be much more shocked by knowing the full name of the show during the end of this episode.

the title could also mean Frieren the death companion (or something like that), meaning that either she will witness your death as she outlives everyone or that she will bring someone to their death herself.

This was the title drop episode! The title of the show in English is slightly misleading but in Japanese its quite literally frieren the slayer or frieren the undertaker. She is that well known among demonkind

Today's episode is titled Sousou no Frieren, which is also the name of the show in Japanese. Sousou (葬送) is a word that is formed by combining 2 characters each with their own meaning, 葬 "to bury" and 送 "to send off". Usually, the word has a sad and grieving nuance, but in some contexts, it also means "to kill/to end". Most people assumed it was the former, as Frieren's long life means that she outlives her friends and sees them off one by one. That was until this episode, where we found out that the demons have given her the title "Sousou no Frieren" because she has sent so many demons to their demise. She is both the one who sees people off and the one who sends demons to their grave. What a title drop. Frieren is the final boss frfr.
