Alana--have you watched Kimi Ni Todoke (From Me To You)? It's an older series, so you may have already seen it; I think the second season aired in 2011. Weirdly, it's getting a third season in 2024, thirteen years later. Anyway, if you enjoy Komi, I think you'd probably like that show, too.

It's so frustrating that season 3 still hasn't been confirmed. The next arc is one of the best too. I would recomend maybe starting the Manga since who knows when the next season will be

Justin Navarrete

There’s so gonna be a season 3. New characters and romance/communication development

I think getting chocolates from Komi gave Yamai a stroke, so we probably won't be seeing her again.

Charles Baldwin

I want another season so the anime onlys can see the story pull off something I would've sworn was impossible.

Glad you get to see the updated version of this episode (and I think the next) as when they aired, the animation studio outsourced these two episodes to another studio and they were AWFUL. The art was all over the place and the animation was non existent in some places. It was due to a COVID outbreak I believe, but another example of why they need to just let studios delay releases instead of forcing them through one way or another.

There are three main types of chocolates given on Valentine's Day: -giri choco (obligation chocolate) given to classmates/acquaintances to be polite -tomo choco (friend choco, or "rival" according to Katai) given to closer friends -honmei choco (true feeling chocolate) given to a romantic interest Also, the bit about Tadano's mom calling him "Honey" was how they decided to translate the fact that she uses the cutesy "-chan" honorific instead of "-san" or "-kun" that's more common for boys.

Komi-san is a really good anime kinda sad s3 hasn't been confirmed yet. I'd recommend you to try out To Your Eternity, it's an amazing anime and wholesome too!

Komi calling out to Tadano is such a HUGE moment. It is really amazing how far she has progressed in less than a year.

Meanwhile, vol. 32 of the manga has just been released. There is definitely no shortage of the source materials for more anime!

What's different about the Valentine's Day in Japan is that, as a basic rule, the chocolates travel one way only, from F to M. The direction reverses on the White Day on March 14. These days exceptions do exist, but the Valentine's Day in Japan is a particular unidirectional affair due to a clever marketing ploy set up by a Tokyo sweets manufacturer some 60+ years ago.

Komi is almost over! :( still I am glad that you enjoyed it! As to what to come after komi I would like to nominate four slice of life animes: - A place further than the universe - about four girls who wants to travel to Antarctica and the friendships they make along the way. One of the most wholesome animes I have ever watched. - Laid-back camp (Yuru Camp) - about a bunch of girls that love camping and the friendship they form. One of the best feel good animes I have ever watched. - The aquatope on white sand - about a girl who gets burned out from trying to become an idol and travels to Okinawa to escape all the pressure and there finds a new friend and a new cause working at an aquarium. So sweet and wholesome. - Super cub - last but not the least, about a lonely orphan girl feeling stuck in life who one day decides to get a super cub moped and how that changes her life and the new friends she makes along the way. Basically wholesome and sweet biker chick :p a great feel good and wholesome slice of the life anime.

why do Komi and Tadano have to be this cute!!!????

I kinda want to add Sound! Euphonium to this, another slice of life about a group of girls that joins a high school concert band/Orchestra and the drama and relationships that develop along the way. Really good animations and amazing sound, you can really tell the difference between good and badly played music, and the drama feels natural and well thought through and the developing relationships/friendships are wholesome and engaging.

finish the spyxfamily after this then?

I would also like to add an older anime to the list. Hanasaku Iroha is a 2011 gem that is set at an onsen inn in the rural Ishikawa Prefecture (recently hit hard by an earthquake; also the setting for Insomniacs After School and the home of Mitsumi in Skip and Loafer). I have a sweet spot for a story that has the rural background, and Hanasaku Iroha is a wholesome slice of life anime that is the first of the P.A. Works' "work series."
