That last scene makes me very sad for both girls. Yukino because she felt like she had to hide that picture and Yui because it pretty much confirmed what she was seeing before. Yui saying she never wanted anything genuine was such a sad statement. All three of them are aware but still very afraid of being honest and potentially losing the friendship they've built.

I remember feeling so sad for Yui because we already knew that she had feelings for Hikki but seeing her putting it into words just until now that she realizes that she can't have what she wants it was heartbreaking.

small thing about the Ginnie the Grue plushy: in episode 1x6 there was a scene that was cut in the mall. Yukino saw the plushy in a crane game and wanted to have it but she couldn't get it. Hachiman then got it (by asking staff to win it for him) and he gave it to her. The fact that this plushy now holds a central position in her life (her entire room is very bland except for this one little part on her bed and the plush is the centerpiece of that) shows her feelings in no uncertain terms, even if they aren't openly stated. as for the picture; in episode 2x9, right after the "save me someday" line you can see a camera flash and in the following scene, while hachiman brings her a drink you can see her stuff the picture into her bag.

I wasnt a fan of Yui throughout the show and this confirmed my feelings. She kept getting in between Yuki and Hachiman because she didnt want to be left out. She may genuinely like those two but she still acts in self interest.
