Yukinon sister is one of the most complex character of the show, I dont think you will understand her until the end, I sure didn't. She is one of my favorites characters alongside Hachiman.

We see in the flashback scenes of Hachiman's junior high years when he tried to reach out and make friends with people but got rejected and heard mean things they said behind his back. He closed himself off and doesn't believe in friendship (his speech about youth in S1 and him telling Hayama the relationship of their friend group is something superficial). I don't think he even sees Yui and Yukino as his friends yet, probably just clubmates. That's why he can't understand why they are so concerned with the way he does things.

Oscar Santos

Nah, I think he is in denial. He treats them like friends and care for them but he doesn't want to accept it.

The best way your can describe Haruno (Yukino’s sister) is an older sister. I don’t want to say much but this is shown when Hachiman’s old crush comes along and start to berate him in front of a “potential love interest” only for the sole gain of showing him down. Whereas Haruno (Yukino’s sister) really only involves herself with people whom she’s genuinely interested in and ‘cares’ about. All of Haruno’s teasing was more playful and in-line with what an ‘older-sister’ would do unlike Hachiman’s ex-crush. Also Yukino is being frustrated cause of the two factors; First Hachiman always using a self-destructive way to solve people’s issues, and Yukino’s having to rely on him as she doesn’t have an alternative. Second he hates the fact even after self-destructive methods Hachiman really only fix the problem superficially in most cases, like with Hayama’s group. Yui is just stuck between two of her best friends fighting and is struggling to help either side as she sees them both doing some right.

So you're saying Hachiman is a tsundere? Impossible!

Saiff Mohammad

Yeah, it seems more so that, if he accepts them as friends would mean he has his own “group” and he fears that his feelings won’t be reciprocated. As shown when Saika greets him in the morning.

Just wait until chapter 8. That's the peak of oregairu.

Best girl Iroha finally makes her appearance 🙌

Yukino's problem with Hachiman's methods, aside from the obvious reason being she cares about him, is the fact he isn't actually helping them solve their problems. He's practically sweeping it under the rug and enabling them to maintain their stagnant superficial status quo they have instead of actually directly acknowledging the problem to overcome it and become stronger as friends as a result. That's why Yukino brings up the fact that she thought they shared something (brought up at the end of season 1), which was their shared hatred for superficial or fake relationships.
