BOCCHI THE GOAT!!!! #BOCCHISWEEP

Anonymous

My favorite song from the album is the little sea!

Bill0g

It was with the last song “If I Could Be A Constellation” that I realized Bocchi’s name is also a pun. Gotou Hitori, aside from “Hitori” meaning “one person” , “alone”, etc. “Hitorigoto” means monologue in japanese.

Ara Araragi

I started watching this version first, but I gotta switch over to the timer reaction. These songs are too good to only hear the edited version!

The last song of this episode is a cover song of a japanese rock band called asian kung fu generation, they are one of the main inspiration of this anime, just like the character names are based of each of the real band members. Its so great to see that the manga artist makes a tribute to asian kung fu generation a lot in the manga and the anime production manages to match that energy. This show is just the ultimate love letter

To add as well, the episode titles are named after songs made by asian kung fu generation (apart from episode 8)

Speaking of the VAs of the show, fun fact: the anime production staff chose the VAs for Nijika and Kita, and the manga author (Hamaji Aki) chose the VAs for Ryo and Bocchi. Hamaji Aki herself is very introvert, so she picked those two characters' VAs. I recommend you look up some of the interviews and stuff they did with the cast (you can find translations on YT) - you can definitely tell that the main cast put a lot of heart into this show! Also, my favorite songs are "Ano Bando" followed closely by "Karakara"

Fouth and final ending. The only non original song of the show. A cover of the author favorite band "Asian Kung Fu generation". The song is called like the episode "Morning ligths falls on you" , sung by Bocchi's VA Aoyama Yoshino. The characters names of the show are based on the members of "Asian Kung fu generation". Goto, Kita, Yamada and Ijichi. The author of Bocchi's loves them. Well...I say it... I cried 2 times in this episode. First in the ending of the first song of the concert, when the music ends and the title drops. Second, obviously, in the end when Bocchi's is leaving and the music volume up and the credits rolls. The combination of music, image and "feels" got me. Music is so important in my life and this show touch my soul. It's become one of the favorite animes for me. The music its treated with such care and love that you feel it deep. No joke that the Kessoku Band album is gold in Japan. Hope there'll be another season, but with this quality of show, expect nothing in the short time. Also....Kita stops calling Bocchi "Gotoh-san" and start calling her "Hitori-chan". I'm melted.

what are your thoughts on a possible Kita and Bocchi ship....

I've been listening "Morning Light Falls on You" on repeat since december and it makes me cry too. That one and Nijika's ED, "What's wrong with" are my favorites. And I REALLY recommend the entire Kessoku Band album, it's fantastic!!!

Alana Misako

i could totally see it🥺 "if i could be a constellation" seems like it's a song meant just for those two

Ribss

Favorite song for me was 'That Band' or 'Seisyun Complex'

Totally talking out my butt, but my impression based on the number of shows that have VAs singing the OP/ED is that it's borderline expected to be able to sing.

JohnRewatchesAnime

Almost all voice actors in Japan can sing well, apart from a select few. It is after all the land where Karaoke was born.

WhateverNinja

Morning Light Falls on You is definitely my favorite. Also I just found out that February 21 (today) is Bocchi's Birthday! 🥳

Some seiyus come from the music/singing background (e.g., Noriko Hidaka cv Minami in 'Touch')). Others may have received live-action theatrical performance experience (including musicals) prior to becoming seiyus (e.g., Yui Ishikawa cv Mikasa Ackerman, Violet Evergarden). Still others started singing as part of their voice training in their seiyu schools. There has been an ongoing and somewhat controversial trend of idol-ization of especially female seiyus, and clearly the talent agencies and studios have been hard at work for selling seiyus as multitalented products. See, e.g., the Love Live franchise.

My favorite is definitely guitar, loneliness and blue planet because it was the first song written by bocchi and that they performed as a band (during the audition), but more importantly because it is about bocchi's experiences in life, about the struggles of living with social anxiety social anxiety. It is the song that Ryo said that few people will understand, but for those that do it will hit deeply and it really does! For me it hits so deep and personally, the song sees me and not to mention that it absolutely rocks, it is so catchy! I listen to it a lot on spotify.

It's been months since we enjoyed Bocchi The Rock! together, but they have just announced the live theater version of Bocchi (Bocchi The Rock! Live Stage). It will be performed in Tokyo starting August 11 and through 20, 2023 and include live music performance.
