They were all my favorite at some point, but that Asian Kung-Fu Generation cover they did at the end with Bocchi singing is something that I've had on repeat for the last month now I love it so much. Thank you for reacting to this show Alana! I loved every second of it and can't be happier with how much you've enjoyed it. Got on your patreon cause I just couldn't wait for the rest of this show and wanted full reactions and now you're my favorite reactor. Just finished your dress-up darling and kaguya-sama reactions and they're all so good. Thanks again and can't wait for the future!

Loved your reactions to this. Had fun watching a good number of shows that I love again with you. I hope you get to some more in the future. I would love to come back . Thanks again.

i dont know if you want links in your comments or not, but if you look up anime vs real life bocchi the rock on youtube you can see how hyper realistic the locations are. like down to the cracks in rocks!

You hit the nail on the head. This anime IS the new comfort show. I love it to bits and I still get emotional at every beat of Bocchi's personal growth upon rewatching it. The last song they played at the fest "To Become a Constellation" is my favorite one because it's a song that Bocchi wrote with Kita as her lyrical inspiration (if you read the lyrics, it becomes apparent). ALSO, all the songs they performed in the show were written by Bocchi with each member being some form of inspiration, but also has that cool secondary effect of making it sound like the song itself comes from that inspiration's perspective. The audition song in ep5 "Guitar, Loneliness, and the Blue Planet" was about Bocchi herself with the title basically being a decent explanation of the song. The song with the Bocchi solo in ep8 "That Band" was inspired by Ryo and it COULD be interpreted as Ryo's desire to make music from the heart. The first song from this episode "I Will Never Forget" could be inspired by Nijika after their bonding session and Nijika's love/appreciation for everyone who is supporting her dream. And lastly, my personal favorite "To Become a Constellation" is the Kita inspiration song with the duality of both Kita AND Bocchi seeing each other as very different "stars" for shining brightly (in different ways for each of them. Bocchi's guitar skill vs. Kita's extroversion) and hoping that they can stay connected regardless of that difference. Waiting for Season 2, but thank you for the reactions! I'm glad you came around to watching it!

Yeah it's insane watching those, love the semi-realistic scene design in this show. Elevates its beauty.

ive read somehwhere that modern va's have to be "idol-like" like pretty, good singing voice and entertaining personality. they have to be marketable pretty much. so it takes so much talent to succeed as a japanese va nowadays. They are all veterans but the VA for bocchi's dad junji (he got popular with voicing ryuji in toradora iirc) is one of the va pioneers in the anime golden age.

good stuff

lmaoo yeah, it's really surprising how much that last shot of Bocchi really hits. we've seen our girl grow so much ;-;

I like how she didn't get the dragon ball super Saiyan reference hhaha

Bocchi's VA actually struggled to get many big roles in shows before this, she's mostly played side characters which is honestly crazy to me considering how talented and charismatic she is (and her voice in this ending is so damn good too). I think the lyrics to 'If I could be a constellation' are from Bocchi's perspective towards Kita, about how Kita has all the elements that she lacks and how she wishes she could be more like her. Interestingly, Kita seems to feel the exact same way towards Bocchi too, feeling like she can't captivate people with her performance like Bocchi can. So happy this show has been getting so much love and appreciation, it honestly deserves it all.

You're right this is such a comfort show. Haven't felt so good and sad that it ends in a long time like this show 🥹

For me this show's title and the 1st were pure poetry. The title's joined are the title from AKFG song "Korogaru Iwa, Kimi ni Asa ga Furu" (only that instead of Korogaru Iwa it's Korogaru Bocchi). At the beginning of the series we see Bocchi alone, unable to make friends despite wanting to, and closed to the idea that being alone was her fate, until Nijika broke through and invited her. At the beginning she was alone in her closet, and now in the final episode, in the final scene, we see her out with the morning light falling on her, on her way to her job, proof that things that she deemed impossible to achieve, she achieved. Also the lyrics of the song from AKFG reminds me a lot of Bocchi's state of mind. A bit melancholic, yet bittersweet and filled with hope, and lukewarm feelings, also reminding us that despite everything, Bocchi is still Bocchi, social anxious and a bit more difficult to deal with. For her, that is not okay. But because she put effort into getting to this point, I want to believe that all of us truly believe, that she is ok. More than ok actually, she is awesome. =) This show is just awesome! I will root for a second season! =D
