i hope everyone's weekend was restful!! i had to color correct this video a lot for some reason! and i couldn't get it quite perfect :P i think all the different outfits were making my poor phone struggle to keep up. figures that the colors would be off on a video where i was trying to make color a focal point. lol

can y'all help me out with some feedback on youtube shorts?

explanation:

youtube is really pushing creators to post shorts. like practically every time i log in i get a notification about it, i get emails about it, there are pop ups on my youtube dashboard, i swear it's even getting passive aggressive like "your channel COULD be growing if you tried this one thing (posting a youtube shorts) !!!".

but the thing is i'm pretty unfamiliar with shorts and i don't make or consume a lot of short-form content. i only watch youtube shorts if it's kpop or cooking related, i'm not sure if i've ever watched ASMR shorts. a while back i tried to use tik tok for maybe 2 weeks, really disliked it and closed my account. & i don't have an instagram so idk what a reel is either lol.

i ran a youtube poll about youtube shorts. most people who answered said they didn't watch shorts, and the comments were sort of mixed.

basically, my audience is telling me they're not very interested in shorts. and i'm not super interested in making shorts since i prefer to make long videos. but youtube is telling me in order to succeed in the algorithm i need to make shorts.

questions:

Should I attempt to make youtube shorts content? Would you watch it if i did? Do you watch any ASMR shorts currently (and if so, what kind of content do ASMRtists make on shorts)?

If i included bloopers, extra footage, or non-ASMR content in shorts, would that be interesting to anyone?

it kind of feels like making shorts would be a waste of my time, but i'm curious what my patrons think. if this is an area where i need to grow and adapt, and possibly change my content, i am open to suggestions. :) maybe if i post a shorts, all of the emails and notifications will stop popping up lol.
