I am soooo far behind but here are some handy dandy other things from this week, half of which I still haven't been able to watch yet. Curse needing to sleep and work. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrYtmC4av4LKq2ol2JwoNRYg7eqGUjylV

The Immortal Songs episode this time was Heroes in Uniform for Patriots and Veterans Month, and the audience was military and first responders. They performed fourth and won three rounds to win the show! They now have the most wins of any idol group with four out of their 6 shows. (not counting Jongho's solo gig) If you watch any of the clips I included, there are no subs but the autotranslate to English give something of an idea of them talking about the choosing the song and thanking the heroes in uniform.

When this song got to 1:09, it caught my attention. That swinging rhythm and the chanting vocals did it for me, and then the section from 2:44 on through the end of the song =) For the storyline, I think this song would be our heroes feeling the pressure of the remaining authorities, now that they are definitely outlaws. As we saw at the end of the Bouncy mv, there are even more wanted posters posted up for Mingi after the operation. It sounds like they liked the explosions in Bouncy and aren't enjoying having to go back on the run (I assume). Sector 1 is the first track of The World Ep 1: Movement album (maybe if I type out the full album titles enough times I'll remember them...). It seemed to be about aggressively confronting hard realities. On a scale of 1 to 6, one being my most favorite, I think it's: 1 This World 2 - 4 In no particular order: Dune, Bouncy, Django 5 Outlaw 6 Wake Up I agree that this is a very cohesive album, almost too cohesive actually. I think I preferred the balance that The World Ep 1 struck between cohesion (the songs thematically went together) and variety (they felt like different flavors of the theme). The songs on this album kind of feel like the flavors are maybe a bit too closely matched for my taste. Though honestly, since I'll just be tossing them onto playlists and shuffling through, that won't matter much from here on out. PS, I'm sad that there isn't an intro or ending track on this album. Eden-ary does a good job with those and if there isn't too much English, I like to put them in my writing playlist

During the showcase, I don't know/remember if it was the song or album, they mentioned that what they are asking is, "Are you willing to become a monster to protect something precious?" I didn't like any of the preview clips, honestly. I'm not that into so much electronica and effects on the vocals. I like the full songs much better, even though I'd prefer more actual instruments and clear vocals. As I've been streaming it is growing on me. The more I listen, especially at work while I'm thinking about other things too and not just focusing on the songs, the more I like it While I might not love all of the things they've done, it is interesting to listen to, never boring. I'm always cool with people experimenting with fun things, even if they aren't my favorite. I also think it helped that the first time I heard the full versions of half the album, they were performing them live. Everything is better when they are on stage. The songs that are rising to the top for me are Wake Up and Outlaw. Jongho's big rock vocals are killer and there are fun rhythmic things to wiggle to. I also like to sing along with "Ain't nobody mess with Django, call me Django" while I bop along. I'm wondering how long it'll be before we get ballads. Once people are out of the control and have their emotions back. Right now it's new, scary, confusing and unpleasant. Eventually though, they'll have to discover love and joy, and I look forward to those albums.

AAAAHHHHHH!!! Remember when I said Hongjoong is super cute with animals? His caption too... My bias is biasing hard in that post https://www.instagram.com/p/CtokZw7LQgZ/

Yeah, I like ATEEZ's intros and outros as well. It makes me wonder if we'll get a full album yet this year. I had to go back and look at their albums, and it looks like their first two full albums were about two years apart and the end of this year will be another two years since their last one. Either that or the spring of 2024.

K-pop Auntie

Agreed, I wasn't sure what to think of the songs at first due to the heavy electronica influences, but with them set into a playlist, I'm vibing with them more. I'm crossing my fingers for the next comeback to be a full album. I'm sure we'll get some more variety if that's the case. I'd like that, especially since Turbulence went from being on my "do I like it?" list to one of my favorite ATEEZ songs.

I like the parrot too. He looks so sweet getting a kiss from that bird

Yes, Hongjoong said a few times he wanted to release a full album this year, so when we got 6 songs I admit I was miffed. If the next one is mini again... Ugh. No wonder they're all releasing cover ballads is all I'm sayin'.

ToATea

Oh really?! There's a chance of a full album? I'm actually loving all the hype songs from the last two mini albums, and Halazia is currently my song of the century. But, honestly, yeah -- their covers recently have been amazing, so it'd be nice to hear more of that in their own music. Which means -- a full album, so we can have it all, let's gooo!

poshpenny

Well he said he wanted to, but we got mini instead. They never really talk about why for that stuff though.

ToATea

There's still time left this year, so *fingers crossed* But I suppose it'll really come down to the people making the financial decisions. I imagine that mini albums have a better return on the investment of making an album, so a full album is probably a bit of a flex
