Perhaps if Stacy hadn’t been worried so much about her situation, she would have recognised Gary by his details. However, the truth was Gary had changed quite some bit since the last time she had seen him.

Now, seeing his green hair, she knew without a doubt it was Gary. After yelling his name, it seemed like she was about to say something else as well. Gary quickly placed his finger on his lips, silencing her.

He also looked behind her, making sure the door was shut.

“Look, I’m not here to do that with you. I promise that, so you will be okay, alright?” Gary said in a gentle voice.

He soon noticed that her eyes were looking in a particular direction—a strange object in his hand.

‘Of course, if I’m holding this thing, she would be scared.’ Gary nervously smiled and put the pink long hard object back down on the table. While calling Stacy over. She still seemed a bit shocked by the whole thing.

“Gary..why are you in a place like this, and why did you pick me...If you knew me, you could have picked someone else. I..I…You haven’t always had a thing for me, did you?” Stacy asked.

“Please,” Gary scoffed. “Don’t flatter yourself. I just want to make something clear. I am not here as your friend. Amy told me everything that happened that day; I understand your situation at the time. It must have been scary, but that doesn’t change that you left my sister behind.

“I don’t even care that you told them about me..but I can’t forgive what you did to my sister.”

Looking at Gary’s eyes caused Stacy to gulp down her spit. His tone of voice was severe, and Stacy was beginning to believe with Gary in a place like this, he wasn’t an ordinary boy like her sister thought she was.

“Now that we have cleared that up. What are you doing in a place like this? Was it the Grey Elephants, or did you run into the Pincers?” Gary asked.

After hearing the two gang names, Stacy’s eyes winded, and it looked like her suspicions were correct.

‘I guess he wasn’t here just to see some girls….’

She hesitated, wondering if she should tell Gary or not; after all, what could he even do if she did tell him. Still, the whole situation was too much, and it began to eat her up inside. Nearly breaking down again, she sat up straight to stop herself.

“This…has nothing to do with Amy or the Grey Elephants, if that’s what you are wondering. So don’t worry, your sister is safe from this life. All of this was because of my parents.” Stacy finally answered.

“I bet Amy thinks that I moved school because of what happened, but that’s not true at all. You see, my parents were having money troubles. I’m sure you know they own their own mechanic business. We weren’t wealthy by any means but better off than many people in slough, and there were even workers that relied on the shop for income.

“However, one day, my parents had a client that refused to pay up. It was a big job as well. When this happens, we keep the car as compensation, and the person has no choice but to pay. However, the person had come back; he said he was part of some gang.

“They beat my parents and all my workers as well. It wouldn’t have been too much of a problem if it had just stopped there, but they kept coming back and disrupting our business. Eventually, someone approached us knowing about our troubles. They took out a loan with them. My parents knew they belonged to a gang, but with so many people relying on them, what choice did they have?

“The situation at home was stressful, which was why I resorted to talking to others..and that’s how I ended up in that situation as well.”

It seems Stacy had stopped her story there, but Gary could already guess what had happened. The loan had come from the Pincers. They charged high-interest rates that were nearly impossible to pay back.

Then, in the end, they forced Stacy to do this, move her and her family to this area and the school. The loan was illegal in the first place, so the police wouldn’t do anything about it, and it’s not like they would act even if the situation were explained.

What Gary didn’t want to tell her was the reality of the situation. That they were probably targeted from the beginning. The people that were harassing them were most likely the Pincers as well. All set up to get workers to work in these types of establishments.

“Wasn’t your dad’s business under the Grey elephants area? And they didn’t do anything to protect you?” Gary asked.

She shook her head.

“I have no idea Gary, I don’t understand any of this stuff. Everything is so scary to me. They told my parents I would just be a waitress’s working in a restaurant. Then they said if I told them anything, my parents would have to sell their organs…these guys are scary.. their terrifying people Gary; what do I do?!”

It was clear that Stacy was begging to panic again. He was wondering if he should help her or not. Hearing her story, as much as he didn’t like her, it wasn’t her fault she had gotten into this situation, and he imagined there were others that were the same.

“Stacy, I need you to help me. We can get out of this situation but to do that. I need to know what the boss of the Pincers looks like and where they are located?”

According to Kai, Stacy was the perfect target to get information from. She didn’t want to be here and hadn’t been here long enough to know just how scary the Pincers were.

Wiping her tears from her face, she looked at Gary once more. Her thick heavy makeup was halfway down her cheeks.

“I can’t…there’s a rule. When we first came here, they said we’d be done for if anyone speaks about the Pincers. If any even tries to talk to us. Then we need to get out of there and inform the other immediately.

“I already did you and Amy wrong once, so I won’t do that. Honestly, Gary, I’m just happy that someone could hear what I had to say. I couldn’t tell anyone about any of this, not even Amy!”

Honestly, Gary had drowned out what Stacy was saying to him, and he soon felt that her hand was pressed up against his thigh.

“Maybe…if it’s you, Gary, I don’t mind..you could be my first.”

“Austin!” Gary shot up like a bamboo shoot. The reason he hadn’t heard the last few words was because he was thinking about what he had just been told, how it could mean trouble for their group.

“AAHHHHH!” A scream was heard coming from outside.

“They asked about the Pincers! Help, help!” A voice cried.

OK I feel a tiny bit less murdery about Stacey but still not changing my mind. I tolerated one Peter because he paid for his mistakes with his life and only caved when he was tortured for for week.
