Let's Talk Bats and Choices (Patreon)

So, the next pick your path is about bats and I need to start plotting.

Before I do that, I'd like to get your feedback on two things.

First.  Bat ladies.  Tell me about 'em.  What makes them work for you?  What do you look for in your bat lady TFs?  And especially in the context of a story where you have choices.  What are some things you'd like to see from it?

Second, the choices themselves.  Yes, for a bat TF story but also in general.  I've only written the one and it was a compact story that focused on sex choices.  What would y'all like to see here and in other stories like this?

So when I think of Bat ladies, I think of Francine Langstrom from Batman: TAS. Her TF scared me as a kid when I saw it, as most giant bat tfs could. I think a good setup could just be DNA experiments. Bat characteristics could be used to help people, so the choices could be extent of change or specific parts of you change. All roads could lead to something going wrong and turning into a full bat lady.

Wing growth and echolocation, I think. Both are the extreme changes that happen when one is dealing with bats, and I don't think echolocation especially has been focused on enough.

Bat ladies are the meme for a twenty first century succubus. Her ability to drain clients of life-forces and all sorts of liquids provides nourishment and persistence. Surreptitiously converting keeps mates, spouses, and family from understanding how they put up with the boring and dreary life of most people. Great topic for covering human-bat relations, similar to the variety and depth provided by human-wolf-werewolve sagas. I’d be thrilled if you were able to include some extra words and lines on the transition of her mind from human to animal instinct. Maybe have some choices pertaining to loving/ anticipating the change or fighting.

Lew Merrill, the author of the first “Bat Man” story in February 1936 in ‘Spicy Mystery Stories’( not a comic ) had a very original approach to the appearance of his character, John Charters. Either a ‘brain transplant’ between a bat and a human being, by a jealous rival who lusted after his girl friend , or the result of self inflicted brain trauma from which record is a possibility. The story describes John as a furry soft fuzzy warm bat cozying up to his nude wife in bed. Later on he returns to a cave and hangs from the wall while his bat-wife feeds him insects and then attaches her furry body to his furry body, so they can go to sleep, hanging upside down. That era did not permit steamy sex scenes, either with humans or bats; the unwritten story provides scads of opportunities.

The options for Merril’s character, John, to have sex with his human wife when he is a bat, and to enjoy sex with his bat-wife while he is still a bat, all deserve elaboration. It is a pity though the in 1939 the protagonist is a male human. You can rewrite that wrong with a female human bat-girl. Please, lots of descriptions of fur and its appreciation by the female and male characters I’ve been a fan of fur-fetish stories for decades, and their absence in current intercourse literature is a pity. As if any fetish wasn’t originally based on sex. The other aspect of this type of story which may have to be handled with ‘kid-gloves’ is the scenes where a bat-human has sex with a bat-bat. In today’s progressive era I do not see this as the “love whose name cannot be mentioned”. Naturally, your delicacy and euphemisms will carry the day. mentioned”. I'm sure it takes a lot of effort to pull these thread stories off, so I appreciate you soliciting feedback. First, I personally prefer more hybrid transformations. On change choices, maybe how she becomes a were and choices on how (body choices) the transformation progresses for her. Second, maybe profession, places where the change happens, people interaction, sex partner choice, how they react (accepting or afraid). I know the more choices you integrate complications the story. Thanks again for the effort.
