Here's what you need to know about Jade: she works customer service in England. That's just what it's like. At the end of Episode 5 we finally see her in non-British-customer service mode. That's what she's really like. Is it massively over the top and rude when she's in customer service mode? Sure, but it's a tv show so it's meant to be over the top, and Nate was, at every other interaction with her prior to this moment, either arrogant, an awkward weirdo, or a combo of both, none of which is unusual to her in customer service so all of which she responds in her distant offputting way. This is where the real Jade starts to interact with the real Nate.

Okay. I read the comments before watching the reaction and now I'm caught up on the reactions. I feel like my biggest gripe is Jade catching a lot of unnecessary flack, not just in the reaction but many comments in this thread. I think she's a wonderfully drawn character whose main purpose is to amplify Nate's storyline but has her own idiosyncrasies that gives her depth and identity beyond just Nate. Really appreciate JBK405's analysis of her character from an earlier comment. For Sunflowers, I can tell they liked the episode, just not like how diehards liked the episode or how so many revere it as one of their favorites. The bar was set too high and a lot of people had unrealistic expectations of how S&G should have reacted to this episode.

Ep5: Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't stand the Jade/Nate romance for the simple fact that she humiliated and was cruel to him for zero reason and now suddenly everything is okay. Jack and Keeley would be great except for the huge ethics issue -- YET AGAIN -- with this show. I hate season 3 so much. I did a rewatch with you guys of the whole show and the first two seasons were so lovely, but the only thing I can do here is fast-forward to your reactions at the end (I can't watch it again, I hated it too much). Ep6: I really disliked this one, although I did like Hot Dutch Captain guy. I felt like the team's night of arguing was too obvious, Ted's felt like a waste of time on all fronts (he eats a bunch of American food, views Van Gogh sunflowers but just sees Kansas? Sigh). And while I liked Rebecca's night with Dutch guy, why ruin it at the end with her "Did we?" I mean, that is a bucket of ice cold water on any happiness I had for them. First off, she drank so much she blacked out? Because we didn't see that. Then she has to ask him if they had sex? How is this a romantic morning-after of their time together? And he says no and then says "yes" to himself? I mean, yes, I get what the writers were going for, but way to write it as creepily as possible, TL writers. So fricking gross. I was so surprised neither of you commented on this. It ruined the episode for me, honestly. Moments like this are why I hate season 3. It feels so sloppy and produced on autopilot. And now they sing at the end! Because it's Ted Lasso! Aghghgh.
